    Not sure why, but I always enjoy seeing pieces turned on a VB36.
    You have such great scale to your work. The colors on this piece are great. Well done!

      Thank you very much Doug. It's such an iconic lathe, who doesn't love a VB. 😊

      @@MartinWoodhead incidentally mate, what are the powdered colours you use for the inside, outside and top edge of the bowl, and what laquer do you use?

    • @MartinWoodhead
      @MartinWoodhead  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@PBUCKY1969 The colour is just powder paint. The rim was gilding paste and the finish was acrylic varnish.

      Many thanks Mark. This was the first time I had used the VB, spent a few weeks stripping and refurbishing it, think I like this one! Thanks again for watching! 😊

    Hi 👋, Martin, I hope you are keeping safe and well, is that a new lathe ? . That looks like a it’s got some mess to it ,
    The bowl looks great, what is the coloured dye your using, . Phil from the moulin France.

    Hi Martin good morning, here in the Netherlands. You make nice pieces of work, personally I'm more of the natural, so i used mostly wood oil, but everyone has their own taste 😁. But where's your wadkin wood lathe? , I see you turn this on a VB36, very nice lathe, I'm a little jealous 😉. Good luck.

      I still have the wadkin, the VB is new to me and this was the first time I used it. First impressions are good! Thank you very much for watching and taking the time to comment. 😊

    Hello I can't remember if I have asked you before but could you tell me the type of powder you use as I have attempted to do it and the powder colours I have tried don't give me the same affect also I take it you apply them to bare wood and dose it matter how far you sand the piece any advice would be appreciated
    Thanks Jamie

      Hi Jamie sorry for the slower response. The powder paint I have is probably more than 50 years old, it came from my father in laws workshop after he died, there are no makers marks on the tins so I'm afraid I can't help with that. Yes I have always applied it to bare wood, and as with any colour on wood, the surface needs to be well finished otherwise the colour will just highlight the faults. Good luck and have fun! 😊
