My wife and I watch every video you put out. She ignores some of the technical stuff, but once a chisel touches wood you have her complete attention. Jim unfortunately has an edge being a fellow Canadian, an fellow New Brunswicker, and he is military to boot. He was actually some places I was and I may have even met him many years ago and I don't know it. But THIS bowl WOW it is 100% my wife's and my favourite of every thing we have seen you do. I had a play list set up that have all the wood workers, Carvers, and turners that we liked and I put all of their past content into that play list and when there is nothing on TV we would put that on and watch it for hours. Then the next day I'd remove everything we watched and start again that night. Beats the hell of anything on TV now a days as far as I am concerned.

Thanks Lewis, I did have one more piece that was a trimming from this tree but it was too thin. After I found this one it really made my day. Thanks for watching, Gary
Good afternoon, Gary. Hoped your busy day went as planned. Your walnut bowl is beautiful. I agree with the lid option. Especially when the wood looks perfect. I watched your video while enjoying a chocolate milkshake at our local ice cream eatery. That's what I call a win, win. 100%

Beautiful lidded box Gary! And the lid was a great addition. So glad you didn't put a brass knob on it. But a little wooden finial would have been OK. Thanks for sharing. 👍🏽
Thanks so much Greg. I am sure glad I decided to make a lid for it. I normally do not do lies. But on a small turning where it is hard to see the grain on the inside I think it was a perfect fit. Thanks for watching my friend, Gary
I started to view this video while at Chicago Midway Airport and just finished viewing this morning in the comfort of my easy chair. That's a nice chunk of walnut and it turned out beautifully. My cousin in Michigan has many walnut trees on her property and can only imagine what I could do with all that wonderdul wood. Thanks for sharing, my friend!

The figuring on the video is fantastic, but I'm sure in person it's even better ... the inclusion reminds me of one of the chalk horse carvings in England, specifically the Uffington White Horse ... a beautiful piece yet again 👍
Thank you very much. For sure the grain is very special. Once I picked the piece of the wood out I was sure i was not going to put a knob on it and after the final sanding of the lid there was no way. Thanks for watcing, Gary
I have to agree with you. That wood is beautiful! The side with the bark inclusion is fantastic very gorgeous. I like the fact that you kept the shape of your bow just simple so that the wood grain would stand out.

Yep, gorgeous. I’m happy that you love walnut as much as I do. Deft is beautiful over walnut. And when it is buffed out with Ack’s, the finish is just beautiful. Super nice job. This is a stunning box.
