Never keen on Giants Live giving too much focus on the record chasing stuff, takes away from the main show.
With those jumps after one event we'll have two or three groups of athletes all equal from the split points.
Was saying over on Loz's preview that the "three attempts, slightly limited options" idea is a good one.
    I reckon they should offer the athletes 400, 415, 425, 435, 445, 455... ...495, 505 - it's better for points separation,
better for individual athletes looking for PBs, AND for the record chasers it would give them flexibility to ramp up to the big one

I'd say best shot is Graham for 505 and I really hope he does but I don't think it's likely. Luke and Eddie at 400kg, Oleksii and Tom at 425kg, Evan and Trey and Biby at 454kg but no more (Biby maybe not even 1000), then Mitch and Ragg and Andrade could potentially get the 470 but again not likely.

Would love to see you and Alec doing reaction and commentary videos to the craziest and weirdest events in strongman history Murder ball, pole push, wrist rolls
And maybe what weird ones you'd want to bring into modern strongman.
Another one would be what goes into event selection and event creation as a organizer and maybe as you get more plugged into the organizer scene you could interview Slater or Jan Todd on how they think up events. It'd be cool to hear how the machine runs cause some events are really weird and some are new and awesome!
Videos like what is your idea of what strongman is and what you'd want it to ideally be.
What SHOULD strongman test. I'd just love videos of you guys breaking down game film of older strongman clips. Maybe also react to 19th and 20th century strength feats of circus strongmen and which ones you think should be included in modern strongman. Same thing with weird stone lifting from different places and history Punjabi stone lifting, basque stone lifting, Indian Clubs, Highland Games, japanese stone lifting etc etc.
Basically any weird new stone lifting that Sean Urqhart has unearthed on his Instagram lol
Arm lifting and grip and bend stuff too
There's such a vast world of strength out there it'd be cool to see too strongmen who are so good at breaking things down to think about how they might be integrated into strongman.
Feels like new things haven't been added since the early 2000s so it'd be cool to see you guys discussing different strength feats and sports and how they might fit in

Sadly, I feel Wrecking Ball is here to stay. They’ve invested in making the equipment so want to get as much use as possible, and it’s an event that guys will keep chipping the record on every show. Same as how there was always a Hercules Hold in any GL that Felix was competing in. It’s a nice draw from a promoter’s point of view.
I don’t think 505kg will happen (which means the record chasing will persist unless Thor can put it to bed at another show).
Hooper will take another 1st place relatively easily. Deadlift should net him good points (or at worst it’s a void event like you said), yoke is his to lose (and cancels out Tom’s likely stone win), he will do well in DB, will hold the WB for as long as he has to, and is decent at stones.
Singleton and Tom will probably round out the podium but it’s hard to look past Mitch. He’s doing what Novikov did a few years back before he fell off slightly.

I'm a complete nerd and I train for Strongman and I absolutely love the ball hold (second to the Hercules hold but that's just peak awesome and impossible to beat). Maybe it's because my grip is the only elite thing about me and I like to imagine how I'd stack up but I love all static grip events (I know the ball's not just grip, but general pain tolerance, but so are half the freaking events anyway).
And yes, I watch with my girlfriend and try to get friends to watch as well and they all LOVE the ball. it's easy to understand the competitive aspect (why they also have the stones in most shows).

Seeing Graham´s deadlifts from month-ish back, I thought that he for sure has 485 in him no matter what, and I think "the body" may be good enough for just under 500. 485-494 on the day is what I thought after "sending the raven" into the future, a bit more if great shape and superb execution of monstrously well done hitching take place.
I don´t put it past him to be good for close to 500, but I don´t quite see 505 right now. Eddie was monstrous and it flew without issue. It looked like he could do 12kg more "god willing".
I really think Graham looks good for 495 ish strengthwise at most, and that ship has been sailing towards the destination at a good, and steady, but insufficient pace to do it "today", I´d say, and, Eddie is just stronger. The last 505 attempt was Very far from completion. He might have had 485 in him, but if it could have happened after the 470, IDK. I think in a perfect would, he had 485-487 in him theoretically, and might be good for close to 500 now, but that is theory, and doing the best lifting you could wish for in the best shape and mindspace. If Graham of today could hitch "even 498" I would feel some extra bowel movements.

    • @japanesecar1501
      @japanesecar1501 2 หลายเดือนก่อน

Ended before Graham could score a lift. He was definitely a good bit stronger as indicated. Did he get injured, or was it balance only? I think seeing 505 was indeed very rosey, seeing how his lockouts seem to go. It´s a LoooOong Way from 470 to 505.
Multiple guys pulling 470, and Rauno had a really good 470 aswell, looked stronger than ever. Mitchell has given a taste on how to pull 505 while under 400lbs. Seeing how Eddie Hall went from 463(?) to 500, Mitchell being capable of a pretty good looking 470 while competing, and being a lifter with good hitching chances, he must be a focused season away, or 2/3 with a less steep build up away from doing it.

Evan is better than tom at max deadlift,
Evan is also very fast at yoke walk,
I think the dumbbell is evan's best over head events and possibly tom's worst over head event

I stillt think Hicks has the highest chance, Makarov a little bit, Rauno no way. My predicted podium for this one, Hooper, Singleton and Stoltman. Though it depends, if Evan makes a mistake and is discouraged he misses the podium and Trey Mitchell is up there. Edit: Also, if you were in this event you might also make it to the podium.
