- A conurbated area is a space where two or more urban areas converge to become one. There is probably no more complex, chaotic and entangled conurbated area in the world such as that of Mexico City and the municipalities of the State of Mexico.
In this episode, we enter some of the most distant metropolitan spaces in the center of Mexico City to discover what years of border conglomeration has brought to the country's gastronomic scene.
We will discover the large amaranth fields between Chalco and Tláhuac, we will taste the extraordinary huge appetizers of Ciudad Neza and discover how the new Mexico City National Airport can finish with some of the oldest gastronomic traditions of Texcoco.

This series was the shit. Jorge is great, and he went deep into it. I'm mexican, I had never heard of most of the places he went to (granted I'm from a different place of the country, but still). Great work Munchies.

As an Asian, i'm so happy that they have "nasty" food too-- as least for Mexican food. I was expecting this guy to show some tame tacos restaurant with plain ingredients. But there's lamb head, fermented maguey slime, mosquito larvae and little crustaceans. He went so deep into the culture that most Chicanos will convulse their faces.
al4sake I’m glad you said “most” because this Chicano would dive right in head first. Lol
bro we mexicans eat eye, brain, cheek tacos everywhere all the time lol it's the american version of mexican food the one that only uses ground beef and steak. My favorite mexican soup is made from cow stomach, so freaking yummy :D
When a "pocho" visits me in Mexico I make them try stuff first before I tell them what it is. But as soon as they try stuff, they end up loving it. For a reason these dishes have endured hundreds of years
