Could we just take a few moments to pay our respect to a long term fellow youtuber Aussie50; Edward Jones. who's life ended this week at the age of 32. May he rest in peace.
I like this car and I like what I can see of your mods. Reminds me (at my age) of the 62-3 Chevy II base model 2 door sedan with all the ways you could go to modify it. A picture of a 62 Chevy raised up a bit with a straight front axle and a larger but not outrageous size engine up grade makes me smile. The look of a bench seat with a Hurst shifter with a patterned white ball just brings me back to those days. Your Fairmont could easily be a newer version of that 62 Chevy II base model 2 door sedan with a rum, rump cam and a 5 or 6 speed Tremec manual transmission (a little pricey) with a 411 rear gear with some tubby tires. I haven't explored any of your video's about what you did to this model but I'm very, very much looking forward to going through them.Take care and thanks for your time...Rob (ex Bronx boy)
It's a super powertrain and car. The only problem is are so many parts that things keep breaking. You want to be able to drive the car steady and compete if you want. This way can make money and hopefully regain some or all of the money put into the car. I think the nicest video's and coolest are where you fix up or do major work on in a relatively short amount of time and video's. Keeps the viewers attention and are many vehicles being fixed or redone but not overwhelming.
The "final assembly" videos where from when he first put that thing together and therefor way before the EFI. He decided to not post them at the actual time of assembly to avoid even more Fairmont videos.
i love to watch this fiddly work, small details. But man looking at this engine bay ... I smile every time just one ocd thing, maybe work with two 45° and bring the hose back to the firewall? just for clean looks ? just an idea.
Hi, how would I go about cleaning a fuse box that is next to the engine? Its got dirt and debris in it. Mainly from trees like pine needles and such. Vacuum, can air or just take it out of the engine and shake all the stuff out? Thanks.
Eric, what happend to all other projects, like your Acura's? Someone was talking about those few years ago. Fairmont is a great project, but people also interested in seeing import cars on this channel, especially vintage Acura's.
I’m only one man and I can only edit so much. There’s a tremendous amount of work that goes into building these cars and producing these videos. I’ll get to an Acura at some point but I have other projects to complete first. I hope you understand. Thanks for your comment.
probably covered it in the video and i missed it, or someone already commented.. but be careful with that rubber line.. ethanol eats the shit out of it.. gotta buy that $10 a foot PTFE stuff now..
@@ericthecarguy really, how do u know so much about putting a car together? I wanna do exactly what you do by taking apart and putting a car together but I don't know if i need to study for it. What do u recommend I do?
Why not just use the fuel bracket to mark holes on the shock tower and drill them out and simply bolt it directly to the car from the other side? KISS principle
Ooow Al-U-Mini-Umm, we evil english will have you saying "Split pins." soon... wa wa wa :-D. Loverly job on the pipes/regulator, love that braided pipe.
Japie Bruce I'm just pulling erics leg :-D i have heard people from america call them a cotter pin, but millions of years ago when i was a kid the pin that holds a peddle arm to a bicycle crank was called a cotter pin. It was a pin with a taper on one side and a nut screwed on the end to keep it in place. (old tech) I still don't know what a cotter is LOL :-D
@@zx8401ztv haha okay yes im not familiar with that old tech BUT we call them split pins too here in SA..the only cotters i know are valve cotters? Those 4 "retainers" at the tip of a valve.
EricTheCarGuy Yes i did appreciate it, i could not help myself with a bit of leg pulling :-D If anyone you meet has no humor, run away from them fast lol.
I heard the jegs and summit an fittings do not have good quality control that is why they are so cheap compared to other brands.. hope you dont experience issue's.
Aluminum was the original word, but in order to tie it in with the other materials, chromium, titanium, etc, it was changed to reflect this. I think America being the country that it is, people just accept it. Then people say that the original was correct. It was still relatively new.
""""The International Union of Pure and Applied Chemistry (IUPAC) adopted aluminium as the standard international name for the element in 1990.[97] In 1993, they recognized aluminum as an acceptable variant;[97] the same is true for the most recent 2005 edition of the IUPAC nomenclature of inorganic chemistry.[98] IUPAC official publications use the -ium spelling as primary but list both where appropriate."""

Saw her at Carlisle!! Took a double take!
This car will run in 2049. Stay tuned folks!
It’s running now, it’s just the videos that are behind.
Yea dude the car has been on the road for a while now, where have you been?
I believe Eric said way back that the cars done and these videos where shot why’ll ago
It was in a magazine for goodness sakes
You should do a series where you talk about old stories of working on cars or easy installs that went terrible wrong
Literally just finished my fuel system install last night...
Gotta love house hold hose clamps
i love to watch this fiddly work, small details. But man looking at this engine bay ... I smile every time
just one ocd thing, maybe work with two 45° and bring the hose back to the firewall? just for clean looks ? just an idea.
Eric has a ring for all his hose
Those jegs an fitting with the swivel are almost guaranteed to leak.
Also watching at lunch time. Fried rice and egg rolls. Hao Hao Round Rock represent!
Jonny Wonderland It was lunchtime but I was eating something when he said that in the video

EricTheCarGuy Hell yea videos are like 30 minutes to an hour in length and I’m pretty sure you cut them down so I can imagine how long it takes
Hello, Fairmont, my old friend...
Ive come to wrench with you again
Hey, Eric. Saw the Fairmont at the Ford Nationals at Carlisle. Good job.
😭 Nobody has 97 Geo metro 1.3 parts.😢 Do u know a website that has everything Geo?😖
so you stopped with the Fairline?
OMG that Old Fart is Eric .. time flies !!!
The amount of WD-40 products on the bench is kinda impressive
Oooh I luv the motor design easentially adiquit
probably covered it in the video and i missed it, or someone already commented.. but be careful with that rubber line.. ethanol eats the shit out of it.. gotta buy that $10 a foot PTFE stuff now..
Eric what course did you take to lead you into working on all aspect of the car??
I never took any classes on building vehicles.

The ring sang It’s not hard I learned by watching you tube videos I know a lot more now before I even watched any vids. Cars are pretty basic kinda
That power steering cooler doesn't look like it'll do much.
agreed.
It does more than no power steering cooler.
What happened to the Holley FI system?
This work was done before that was installed.
Why not just use the fuel bracket to mark holes on the shock tower and drill them out and simply bolt it directly to the car from the other side? KISS principle
also an sn95 steering cooler may fit better around the bottom of the rad to get direct cool air
Muito bom
Ola !!!! 🙋
Dumb question why is it so important to use aluminum wrenches verses regularly steel wrenches?
Anodized aluminum fittings. Probably will scratch.
Scratch
