i think she goes burning instead of super based on 2 things: 1. Sol is "Sun" in both Latin and Spanish. 2: the whole fire theme she has. It's probably just a pun if anything. They might actually be *stronger* than the Chaos Emeralds since they allow dimensional travel, namely, the way Blaze appears in the series. Burning Blaze is shown to have typically the same power as Super Sonic anyway, so it's likely a case of "same thing but kinda different in another dimension".
