I remember when I was so hyped when N64 Toads Turnpike was confirmed as a retro track when Mario Kart 8 was still in development, but I was disappointed for how lacking of a challenge it was. They even took away all traffic going in the opposite direction during mirror mode which was my favorite feature of the original.
I could also say the same for Moonview Highway as the traffic is barely chaotic like it was in Mario Kart Wii as there are fewer cars
In the animal crossing circuit in mario kart 8 deluxe the monty moles are replaced with mr resetti for most of the seasons with the exception of winter which doesn't have mole hills by resetti at all.
This came out just a while before I go to bed🗿

Edit: Bandy just used the word "tram" in his Booster Course Pass rating for Amsterdam Drift.
Edit 2: Did Bandy fail to notice that Mushroom Gorge merged the Wii and 7 variants, or did he just forget to mention, because that's exactly what Nintendo did, whether they meant to or not. They put the left path back in from Wii and then moved the glider mushroom pad to the center, giving you three potential paths. Also, despite never playing Tour, I may have a reasonable explanation for the lack of height variation with the mushrooms, being that you probably didn't get as much height from a bounce in that game as you do in Wii or Deluxe.

Dry Dry Desert at 36! Past Nathaniel, you are wrong and I can’t believe you made such a terrible judgement!
I’m joking of course. However, in my opinion, Dry Dry Desert is the worst track in MK8DX out of all 96. It’s just…. unfun. It’s the only track in the game where I get nothing enjoyable out of it. Even tracks like Toad Circuit and London Loop I get more enjoyment from in some way
