Because I have a lot of crew engaged and its getting really messy with a lot of crew that I dont wanna use. And I don’t know what sending a vehicle to holiday does but I don’t wanna do it because im assuming I wont be able to use it again.
Nice, now even Russia has a vehicle from the 70s, that is still widely used today at 4.0. Can't wait for when they start adding all the BTR 60/70/80/90s at like 3.0.
Because they have needed an aa between the zsu37 and zsu57, yes its a bmd chassis but that is all it is, Sweden has many post ww2 vehicles before t4 at low brs, and they don't really need the bars but they for sure won't be at 3.0 lol, idk what you're thinking
This thing looks pretty badass and I will be unlocking it soon but I've been caught up playing the zsd63 anti-air with China which is basically a better version of this AA. I've been waiting for so long for them to change the reload rate on this thing and they finally did it. It used to take somewhere around a half an hour to reload two guns but now the zsd63 reloads in around 16 seconds without an aced crew. On top of that the twin 25mm penetrate 63 mm with a full AP belt. I'd love to see what Phly can do with it.
If you take this thing up to 7.3 to 8.3 it slaughters. Yes I know there are other fast firing AAs at those BRs but this thing becomes a nasty little edition that does some "Godlike" things

It was the vehicle that got me my phirst nuke, and I’d like to see it and the ABUL/74 (specifically the 90mm) on the channel! The combo means in any terrain you can get to a sneaky spot, and scout phor tons of SP! (Day 96) (But play the Hawk III first) Even tho he’s retired I still strive to see the Hawk III for my boy

This thing facing panzer 4's looks goofy AF. I remember the M42 being 5.7, the Crusader mk 1 4.7. Now this gets introduced at 4.3. Meanwhile the Yestvark gets introduced also at 4.3, with a single 20mm and a massive dead zone over the drivers cabin....War Thunder pffft.

This thing's from the 80's i would love to see it loved from 4.3 to like.6.7 as the "fast fire rate" then "Dual 57MM" and after that you go to Shilka etc... Also i would love to point out this dual 23 mm gun is not even fully mounted to the chassis....it's just suspended on wooden blocks and held together by metal straps and can be easily taken off the vic..and used as a...stationary AA gun

My class in the Finnish army is to operate that mechanical calculator on that very gun, on the right seat. We don’t have these mounted on a vehicle, but they are on their own. That advance calculator has a max distance of 2km and max speed of 250m/s, so it’s not so useful against modern aircraft’s. These are still in service.
Against helicopters trying to land troops in a field however... Couple of these around hostomel would have made things a lot more spicy for the russians in february.
By the way it's vehicle for paratroopers, so that's why is there so many of them. Also the wheeled AA platform on the top can be taken down and used separately. My beef with this vehicle is ... that it's placed to WWII vehicle range ... again, thus braking the remnants of immersion.
You gotta love the Russian design philosphy. The goal: Mount a weapon system on a vehicle. US solution: Design a multi-million dollar system, send it to a contractor, expect the obligatory budget and deadline overruns. Russia: "Ivan, go cut up that phone pole. Igor, run down to the hardware store and buy a spool of cable and some clamps." Three hours and a couple bottles of vodka later, project complete.
I don't think many people know it but in your damage model while in-game where it shows ur tank and where it's damaged there's a binocular That lights up every time you get scouted and lets you know that you have been scouted.
I already hate this thing. They’re way too low in BR and surprisingly hard to kill sometimes. I’d rather have one game with WWII to 50’s vehicles and one with vehicles from the 60s to present.
Why don't you just play the thing? Low ammo, overheats quickly, high recoil, mediocre pen (especially angled pen), paper armor (bring HE for God's sake), and horrendous stock grind (poor stock acceleration) The only reason why it's good is because players are batshit retarded and never shoot the crew or use HE on them
I'd say this thing is more like a 5.0 AA, but 4.7 for sure. With that RoF, shell velocity and pen. Plenty of crew, so you don't instantly die from a single rifle caliber MG... You get smoke launchers AND ESS?!
@@Isaiah-oj6zm Thats a different developer, but Enlisted could be just gaijins perpetual beta before adapting it for use with War Thunder, developing a well balanced FPS with vehicles is extremely difficult and if they were to just drop infantry into the fray of an already well developed and established vehicle based similator, users are going to have a bad time. I think Enlisted's mechanic of each person controlling a squad is a great idea for how to integrate into an already existing vehicle battle 'sim' You'd need massive numbers of players in each match otherwise, or a very small number of vehicles like the Battlefield series.

Anyone complaining about the BTR-ZD, Mains Germany or USA and can't handle USSR finally getting an SPAA equivalent to them. M19A1 & M42 have more penetration, no reload time and don't overheat and both also have 6 crew members in much better armoured chassis'. Wirbelwind has 5 crew members with a hull MG and a flak shield around it's gunner, a-top a Pz 4 chassis but no one thinks that's under-tiered at 3.7 even though for the longest period of time it had 64mm's of pen. Ostwind 2 has 6 crew members. The BTR-ZD has 100 rounds between 2 guns, and overheats if you fire more than 25 per gun. It get's 4 spare mags and that's it. If you're really that scared of this thing, you play blind, with your sound off, because you literally just MG the gunner/loader on top and it's completely useless, cause it sure as hell can't reverse away. Waaaahhh Russian Bias because im' dumb and can't target 2 dude's sitting on a roof.

Phly you've got all my respect! Now this is two separate functional military units combine together. (BTR-D and ZU-23-2 mobile anti-aircraft gun.) The Russians basically take one BTR-D and put on the top one ZU-23-2 and this is how is born BTR-ZD: (Nickname, Russian for "shriek". BTR-ZD / Bronetransporter - Zenitnaya Desantnyy Acronym, Russian for "troop transporter - anti-aircraft for assault troops").
Russia already had the strongest 4.3-4.7 line up in the game. T34-57, KV-85, ASU-57, Pe-8, Yak-3, and BTR-152A is my go to SL grinding line up, even stronger with the BTR-ZD now.

The BTR-ZD is basically a towed ZSU stationary gun slapped to a BTR chassis. The Soviets really liked slapping things to other things didn't they.
The chassis is a redesigned BMD-1.

Yep, last we saw it in action was 24th of february 2022 near Kyiev. All of them were wiped out though.

It has better aa ability to the R3 and equal offroad mobility. Definitely 5.0
With the addition of napalm, and useless hull gunners, i think war thunder is gearing up for the next class of tech tree.

The Tunguska is essentially a Kashtan on a light tank chassis. Same systems and missiles, only the guns are different, twin barrelled, not rotary-6.

Phly you've got all my respect! Now this is two separate functional military units combine together. (BTR-D and ZU-23-2 mobile anti-aircraft gun.) The Russians basically take one BTR-D and put on the top one ZU-23-2 and this is how is born BTR-ZD: (Nickname, Russian for "shriek".

I've been using this as my primary AAA even up to 7.3 (the ZSU-57-2 is fun but not a great AAA). Works just fine.

This vehicle is going to 5.0 + in no time. It was disgusting at 4.3.
It's still good at 7.7. I can pen the sides of Leopards :D
Russia already had the strongest 4.3-4.7 line up in the game. T34-57, KV-85, ASU-57, Pe-8, Yak-3, and BTR-152A is my go to SL grinding line up, even stronger with the BTR-ZD now.

Its not like it has amazing cold war features, this is basically a soviet wirbelwind (in fact theres 2 cold war aa in the early soviet tree, btr zd (the one in the video) and btr 152 with the 2 14mm machine guns)

Same. It’s prolly not very common or at least phly doesn’t experience them. If you’re used to the aa you’re using it’s not that difficult to land most shots

cool video. i had a spaa question, but about the american tree. I just started playing war thunder 3 months ago. Why does the american tech tree seem to lack spaa between the m42 and m163? The m42 sucks something fierce aswell, and I find myself using the m16 even at higher tiers. I saw your m16 and m42 videos, so im sticking with the m16

Why is Russia getting a dual 23 mm AA from the 70s at 4.3 and the Americans can’t get the skink? I’d even take that Chaffee with the 5 50 cals over the duster vs aircraft.
BR.93AB2 can do it all. bomb. ground and pound,dog fight,with a external gunner and a good top speed with good engine and a 20m at 1.7 . still waiting for the fun you share in that thing.
