@@dalh598.1 27 of them were made, idk about the 'all are different' part. I don't think there was much variation between them. All of them got scrapped now, so all that remains is info on the specifications, and it seems there was only 1 version of it afaik.

actually the t26e5 is 6.7 now, and it isn't good at all, the mobility causes it to have alot less combat effectiveness than it actually should have

@@dualyst. can't say you're wrong, I've been avoiding CAS for a long time, because it just wasn't my cup of tea... now I can at least release the bomb and not crash my plane tho
3:33 it's because in these unstabilized tanks, the bow machine gun was the only one that could provide effective fire while moving. Eventually the weak spot cost became too high for the benefit given, so they stopped appearing. Then stabilized main armament showed up and made it completely irrelevant anyway.

People forget that
I think the gun port was mainly to defend the tank against infantry trying to rush the tank from the front, or to provide frontal defense when the turret was looking the other way. People tend to forget that the worst enemy of a tank is infantry and that has been proven throughout the years. Even leopard 2's get clapped because they didn't have infantry support and they got overwhelmed.
In the cold war they weren't really necessary anymore
Man after playing this game for so many years how do you keep yourself cheered up ? how do you stay mentaly healthy ?
Remember it's a game, and your playing it to have fun, and when you stop having fun, don't try to make yourself have fun, just go play something else. This game is like a bad relationship with decent sex. the gameplay can be rewarding but the mechanics are jank.

Been through a 3 month burnout now because of War Thunder and things around covid. For War Thunder always start off with finding someone willing to squad up with you, kind of eases off the bad side of the game. If you don't feel like playing it, don't. Wait a few days and try again. What also helps is to not play the same nation / BR, find your favorite vehicles in which you have fun and keep those when you really want to have a good time. For me it's the AVRE or the American T14, I actually enjoy heavy tanks a lot so I find some BR's where they excel and stay there.
Still the best thing is to avoid it completely lol.
Probably more fun when you can skip the grind and just not care about anything else but playing

I think my grandfather might've trained in one of these at Aberdeen. I have a photo of him with a group of recruits in front of a tank that looks vaguely Pershing-ish. But I could never quite identify as it was slightly weird compared to a normal Pershing. He was trained to be a tank commander but the war ended before he went into combat.

The M46 Patton was the M26 Pershing Kai Plus Refit.
The M46 corrected all of M26's shortcomings. The US Army was against the M26 going to war. It wasn't ready, but were overruled like with the M16 Infantry Combat Rifle because the Navy SEALs had AR-15s.

Funny thing is, I believe this is supposed to have a 203mm mantlet and in someplace (Small places) 279mm thick.
Lower glacis is supposed to be angled way more too

I'll admit, I didn't think much about the T-26E5 when they announced it. Like, yeah, okay, another tank to add to the deluge of 6.3 vehicles the US has, super. But it has really grown on me. The added armor *does* make a difference and the 90mm M3 is as reliably good as it always has been.
Challenge Request:
German little and large challenge. Take out the Fw200C-1 in Tank RB and get three ground kills. Or if that isn't entertaining enough, take out the Ju87D-5 with the 7.92mm Gun Pods and get three combined air/ground kills with guns only. Have fun. Attempt 396.

@@curiousentertainment3008 I’ve watched spooks video. Lower plate is the wrong angle, mantlet is incorrect thickness and drivers hatches are incorrect thickness otherwise it’s correct.
That’s a lot different from all armour on the vehicle being incorrect like you said
The TH-camr Spookston talked about this tank and he claimed that the armor values are wrong. The real tank had thicker armor than what the game is portraying at the moment.
I would honestly rather it have the current unrealistic armour at a better br. If it had the armour spookston said it would probably go to 7.0 and even 6.7 would be painful with the 90mm

If you're out in the open or if you have your turret showing, you're gonna take a breech or if not the round's gonna pass through and blow you up."
This statement alone encapsulates the entire feeling of playing US Tanks at 4.0-5.3 BR. You get a decent shell in tanks like the M18 GMC or the Shermans with 76mm cannons, but overall your armor is 4x worse than your enemies and you'll be blown up with ease before you can even locate the weak spot on the enemy Tiger E. Literally the only time you get upgraded armor for a heavy tank is when you go from the M6A1 to the T26E5, which is a full 1.7BR difference from 5.0 to 6.7. There are upgrades to turret armor, but that means very little when any 75mm gun can relatively easily punch through you head-on and any 76-90mm gun can just ignore your armor like it's a lightsaber going through paper.
Medium tanks aren't any better, the first armor upgrade is from the M4A2 at 4.0BR to the T25 at 6.3BR, and even THAT armor upgrade is only about 10mm more than the M4A2. The next substantial armor upgrade is the M26, which serves as a medium tank in 6.3BR that has basically the same armor values as the M6A1 4.0BR heavy tank. If the M6A1 gets outgunned at 4.0BR, what do you think is gonna happen to a medium tank with the same armor 2.3BR higher up?
As it stands, it seems like the only thing American tanks are relatively consistent with is making light tanks/tank destroyers that have large guns and lots of speed because they have paper armor. This still kinda sucks because the only way to do great in those tanks seems to be to snipe in the back of the map and hit the enemy before they see you, or do large flank manuevers that are easily countered by a few MG shots to your engine that'll leave you stranded and ready to die.

Day 83: Phlee, play the I-185 (M-82) at 3.7 for CAS. It is WAAAAAY underrated (3x20mm with powerphul AP + bombs/rockets). It's also really phast.

I was passing by one of these in my Panther A, giving one shot while moving, hoping for nothing and boom. He went up in flames. Hit his cheek

kinda late but i played this tank along side the M60 at 7.7 br, hold it's ground so well bounced most of the enemy's rounds and still have the firepower needed. killed 7 enemies total 5 with t26e5 2 with the m60

Easiest way to kill em shoot between the weak shot spot which is the below the machine gun port where it meets into one

Open binoculars using 'B' (default key)
Put the + sign in binoculars on enemy and press the range finding key(search rangefinder in settings and bind the key)
And if you want to turn your cannon in the direction of enemy put + sign on enemy and click the mouse fire button

I’ll have to try this tank out, but at 6.7 that T26E1-1 is such an amazing heavy, and it’s quick an maneuverable too. One of my all time favorites in game, and can compete at a full up tier as well. Would love to see phly play it again
Unfortunately, the repair cost is too high for me to use it regularly without going broke. You’d think it’d be reduced since it went up to 6.7, but no.

I realize these aren't supposed to take on Tiger-2s close range but the E5 seems underwhelming for me, yesterday I killed two just by shooting their lower upper front plate with my 88 while they plinked off the side of my turret beforehand.
The reason this vehicle is not 6.7 is cause of armor is correctly model its supposed to have way more armored.
