When storing, put a couple sections of 2x4 or similar under the axle or under the belly of the snow blower. That way if a tire loses pressure, the rims will be held up off the floor by the blocks, and the tire won't get deformed, so it won't crack.

THANK YOU!! My big boy Graco pressure washer wheels went flat and sat with the tire debeated for about a year. Then a buddy borrowed it for a week on a big job and his guys rolled the machine around on the deflated tires so the bead was super stretched, about a 3/4" gap around the wheel that I couldn't seal. I was even willing to buy new wheels/tires but every hardware store in town had a different sized axle that wouldn't fit. After an hour of prying, squeezing, heating and stretching, I ended up searching on google and saw your video. I used your ratchet strap technique and I was able to easily inflat both tires on the first try. In total, it took me less than 5 mins. Thanks again for putting this out. You prob save a bunch of money, time and frustration for a ton of guys out there.

"I don't want to play with fire"...good advice for repair work not originating from some warmer parts of the country. Advice is genius, never would have thought of this and it worked like a charm. No good reason found for flat tire on my snow blower except its probably been a few years since I put air in the tires. The other tire was still sealing but no air pressure. Thanks a bunch

Dude- you are a genius. I had 2 flats on my big snow thrower. They would not hold ANY AIR!
Bad design on the wheels in general, with the bolts holding them on rusted completely. After failing multiple times to remove the wheels, and discovering that replacing them would cost hundreds of dollars (not including the cost of cutting out the rusted-on bolts), I tried your ratchet ties trick and I was able to inflate the tires.
Then I was able to locate the small leaks and fix them both with $20 of flat out.
    Thank you!!!

Thanks for the video. I didn’t have a big rope or strap. The small rope kept breaking. But I found maybe An easier way. Like you said the rim where it seals it has to be very clean and smooth otherwise the tire will have a hard time getting there. I inspected the inside of the rim and had a bit of rust and was quite dirty. Particularly one are where the tire would not go there. I guess there was an incredible amount of friction. So I pulled the tire away and first clean the rim where it needs to seal with a fine steel wool. It looked like new. Then I used a thick grease and applied around the rim. The tire went into place without much effort at all… no rope no strap. Then I inflated it with a bike air pump and it was perfect. I checked for leaks at it was good
    Thanks for the video!

If the tread of the tire is not worn down to the point of losing traction in snow I would have just put a tube in that tire. Tubes are about 1/4 the cost of a new tire. If the tread was worn down and leaking, yeah, new tire.

Hi, great video how to replace or treat a tire of a snow plow or a go-kart etc. if something is wrong with it such as deflated or even punctured !!
2 months ago we were busy to restore an old go-kart for my grandson, started sanding, painting, spraying etc. etc. but then the tires were discussed, these were on plastic rims, no problem in itself but all empty or maybe leaky.
My son once saw on TH-cam how they did that to quickly provide such a band with air again, we don't have a compressor or anything like that but that didn't matter, Gas was the magic word, okay something true gas (propellant in this case of from any spray tube) in sat was used.
Sprayed between the edge of the tire and the rim and added the flame and ???? NOTHING!! again try then injected gas again and the flame again, but now my son dropped the strap + vleg from a certain height on the street and with the result? ............. ......... a huge loud bang and I was suffering from the pain in both legs and my ears were closed, at least I had become deaf, luckily no permanent damage to my hearing afterwards.
But my legs and my lower legs like calf and especially my left lower leg hurt a lot.
What was the egval? We later found the rim, completely broken in two and part of it hit my lower leg and ended up somewhere via my right leg.
In short, I still suffer from my lower left leg after these 2 months, yes, I saw doctors etc. but I do know that my muscles etc. have had a considerable thump from that rim.
I would therefore say NEVER do it with gas but use the method as The Fixer here uses a strap around a piece of rope that is many times safer and in hindsight we should have done that then I would not still have problems / pain in my leg, because especially when your leg comes to rest at night when you are in your bed then the muscles start to relax and that is the worst of all !!!
Don't be fooled by those videos here on TH-cam with those men working with gas to inflate tires quickly, it's playing with life !!!
Thanks for your attention and sorry for the long story !! and oh yes, here is the video about the renovation of the go-kart, no that broken rim is not on it, we only bought 4 new rims + tires because for barely $ 45, it was worth it instead of playing with your life !!

I had a snowblower tire leaking through the sidewall. The tire was problematic from new and leaked down almost flat every season. Eventually, it leaked down after only a few weeks the sidewall was so porous. I added some Slime. I laid the wheel horizontal for a day; then, flipped i. Left it horizontal on the other side. It holds air now better than when new over 20 years ago.

Hey, Loretta! Honestly the best thing you can do is to keep the tires inflated all of the time, including when being stored. These ones cracked because they went flat and I left them there for the entire summer. Hope this helps. Thanks so much for checking out the video!

Put blocks under the machine so that in case the tires lose air, the rims stay off the floor.
