As an ex pro tire fitter, let me say, NEVER use automotive or any other petroleum based grease on a tire. Over time it can attack the rubber and it doesn't dry up, so can encourage the tire to slip back off the bead seat if it comes under an extreme sideways force. These tires should only run about 15 psi max.
If you don't have the correct type of tire soap (that's what we used to call it anyway) use some hand soap diluted in water. Not hand cleaner though, just from a bar of soap.
I gave you a thumbs up though, because your rope 'belt' was spot on. We had a type of cinch strap which also had an inflatable tube inside it.
And yes, a roof rack strap can help, though cheap ones may not be strong enough.
Secondarily, if you can rest the rim on something so that the tire walls won't touch your bench or floor, you can then push down on the tire and the back bead, in this case, should come in contact with the back of the rim and pop onto the sealing face.
I could see that every time you pushed the air line onto the valve stem, you pushed the rim away from the back of the tire. ;¬)
A 'clip on' type air connector will help the situation too, as you'd have both hands mostly free.

A little liquid soap is all that's needed.

      @@Repurplecirculation
You are correct in that silicone won't attack the rubber but, it is too slippery and doesn't dry or dissipate readily. Soap is the best. It stays fluid long enough (without drying) to seat the tire without becoming an issue later with a lateral force on the tire pushing it off the rim.

The rope worked like a charm and I didn't even have to take the front tire off the lawnmower. I just lifted the front end and put a jackstand under it. I used a heavy duty screwdriver versus the metal pipe. Total repair time was about 5 minutes, which included set-up and clean-up. This is something I will always remember. Thanks for sharing!

Good luck everyone on the contest!! Those little tires can be tough to re-bead. I used to work at Sears mounting tires after school on a Coats 10-10 machine. We had an inflatable tube we could place on the outside of the tire to serve the same purpose of squeezing the bead against the rim. Some of those old bias-ply tires could be pretty rough to seat. I love Zip's channel...he's a character to be sure!! Thanks, Bob.

DW's method is a good one, too, but the starter fluid/lighted match method takes about 30 seconds. Let me tell you how I learned about it. (Profanity Warning) A old guy was watching some of us younger guys try to rebead a tire and really screwing it up. Finally he'd had enough and started in on us. "God fucking damn it. You fucking shits don't know fucking shit . . . " You know how it goes. So while he's igniting the air with profanity, he's getting brake fluid and a match. He puts a couple of squirts of fluid in the tire, and we all gather around. "Get the fuck back, you stupid fucks!" So we step back. He throws a couple of matches at the tire. The third one takes and the tire flips about five feet into the air and comes back down. We're all amazed that the tire is perfectly set. "You know what to do now, you stupid fucks." Lesson learned!

Good stuff as always. This is much safer than using starting fluid and a lighter!!

This was a great video...well done. I was having a terrible time trying to get my wheel barrel tire inflated, as it went flat. Now I learned something new! I would like to enter your contest to win the portable air compressor. Thank you for sharing this video.

Bro you are a beast, your video was straight to the point. I liked the brake fluid and how you measured the amount of air pressure. Thanks for the knowledge.

Thanks for this! I'd tried the ratchet strap/rope method and a bunch of other things but nothing was working. Then removed the valve stem and gave it a blast from the compressor and it worked great for me. Never would have thought of that.

Thank you for explaining about the valve stem and the ability to fill it once the stem is removed. Only video that actually explained it

Thanks so much for sharing your knowledge with us!. I am a grieving but surviving & happy widow of 2 years that loves to do home made remedies to save money. i had a tire unseeded on both sides so after watching your video I was able to keep the tire on the tractor and used your rope technique, with removal of valve stem but I didn't have grease so I used petroleum jelly. Then used air compressor at 100 psi like you said & BINGO! Replacing the valve put me down to 4psi. Hahaha. But successful! I scraped off the excess petroleum jelly to save for the next project. The tire seeded to the rim! Kudos to your sharing this info. ❤
