Growing up with Bionicle, I noticed that every canister had tiny holes on the top. I am guessing that they were added there to prevent suffocation like with the Pokemon balls.
I still have some of the McDonalds runaway railway toys, I used to collect them. I didn’t even know they got recalled, but they just got shoved into a drawer and they’ve been in there ever since.
Yeah! It’s sad that these toys were probably away from screaming crying kids and thrown away because so parents don’t know how to be a parent! I mean my god the numbers of kids suffocating us ridiculous!I was expecting most of the reasons to be because of dangerous materials that simply gir noticed the hard way! But the fact that only one or two of the toys were recalled because of that reason and most are because those parents don’t know how to do their jobs and keep an eye on their kids at all times is just infuriating!😡
Yeah they did bc I only got the toy at the time I was shocked because growing up I have always loved hello kitty I still do love hello kitty to this day!
I know where I lived they just stopped giving out that particular one all together and just continued the promotion by giving out other toys in the set. Additionally if you had that one you could bring it in and they’d give you a different toy from the set.
I remember in one of my Happy meals when I was 9, I got a green Step-It. I wore it everyday until I started getting irritation on my wrist, then my parents said we had to take it back because of the recall.
It's so funny to see the contrast between the heavy saturated and bouncy commercial advertising the poke ball and the bleak and monotone recall commercial
I remember being 10 and going to McDonald's and getting that step-it watch. about a few days later the watch started to burn my skin (not painfully just hurted)
I can remember back in the day. I also was a huge Kevin, and whenever I saw that these toys are recalled, I was trying to collect all of them and I was angry.
I remember the hello kitty ones vividly. The toys came out on Halloween and I remember on Halloween of that year my mom picked me up from school early so I could go to Pennsylvania and celebrate Halloween with my cousins (which was a tradition since I didn’t have many friends in the area). Halloween went off without a hitch, so fast forward to late November. The promotion was still going strong and I was headed to Pennsylvania again but this time to celebrate thanksgiving with my family. Upon arrival my Aunt had the evening news on and immediately asked all us kids if we had that toy. Thankfully none of us had that one.
I remember hearing about the Pokéballs being recalled, but my first thought was, not knowing that the balls were the problem, "Who the hell would let their child eat the freaking Pokémon?" (My mind saw the suffocation risk and immediately went to choking hazard)
Actually, with those Shrek 4 cups, only the Puss In Boots cup had the cadmium, but they recalled all four of them because they were manufactured and stored together.
The toys, I'm not sure why they were banned, but I do understand the cancelation of the Disney World promo because the qr codes sent people to porn sites and some people wouldn't be able to enter
I had the orange one and a lot of kids when I was in elementary said that’s so dangerous u need to return it to McDonald’s in 2016. I never got a burn from it
In Later Years, Did There Use To Be Any Pokeballs Sold At Stores Similar To The Recalled Ones From Burger King, And Did They Comply With The Rules Of Having It For Ages 4 And Up Only
I wish they resell the McDonalds shrek glass but it would be a plastic see-through with the characters from shrek 1-3 on it, & for burger king, they should re-sell the pokeball toys that contains both the card & the mini pokemon, but for the pokeball, the red top & the bottom white would still be connected like how they make open-able pokeballs now, but instead the balls & pokemon toys & cards would be 1990's versioned.
@@coleisforrobot i defenitly could when i was four, i knew when i was chewing on stuff like bottle caps, plastic toys, but i would never put it in my mouth, i would just like chew the edges, (of course tons of kids think different in the world but thats just me)
McDonald’s back in the day was like omega mart.
No idea what's in store for you!
They recalled just for confusing Omegamart lemons with normal lemons. Nonsense.
Where do you think meow wolf got the inspiration for the lemons vid

I have the poke-ball
@@epicduckygaming4610I had the green one but not anymore

We still have those 4 Shrek cup but we dont ever usethem since the recall.they up as decorations in top of our kitchens
Imagine the value some can have now
I remember the step it promotion! That ad definitely rang a bell.
I remember getting the Hello Kitty one when I was little, but there wasn’t a whistle in it. I guess they replaced it with stickers.
Yeah they did bc I only got the toy at the time I was shocked because growing up I have always loved hello kitty I still do love hello kitty to this day!

Kids find the most absurd ways to harm themselves, it's crazy
You always have two kids that get injured with recalled toys.
Still have my hello kitty toy. I also still have my Disney drinking glass.
You mean Shrek
I had one of those wrist watches. It's somewhere around the house. I have allergies, but I never got a skin rash.

Same actually
I really don’t think Hayden and Emily needed to throw away their pokéballs. They knew how they could suffocate people and probably wouldn’t do it
True, but still, better safe than stupid.
Orrrrrrrrrrr you can punch little holes on the top and bottom of the poke balls to make it so where you can’t stick it to your face.
@@DankEngine2005Nobody is THAT dumb.
But are they sure they kept the toys that were inside the balls
yeah and if they held on to them they could've made bank on selling them decades later

That Burger King one is like Omega Mart
Um actually omega mart is inspired by the pokemon recall
Those Pokéball toys were only dangerous for babies. No one in that toy's target age demographic would be stupid enough to put that in their mouth.
Actually, with those Shrek 4 cups, only the Puss In Boots cup had the cadmium, but they recalled all four of them because they were manufactured and stored together.
What’s the point of recalling the Runaway Railway Train just because of a QR Code Error and plans for Disney World plans canceled?
The qr code had error messages/incorrect links
