Yup, they were the first to get caught. Plus, they were a foreign manufacturer, so US media attacked them far harsher than they did Chrysler when it came out that their eco diesels had similar defeat devices.
Why no mention of the FACT Ford knew there was a danger but calculated it would cost less to pay out lawsuits than it would be to redesign where the gas tank was?

Some artist’s pigments contain cadmium. I used to use cadmium yellows, and they seemed okay, but when I started to mix cadmium red bright with water, the odor made me gag. My dad does business in China, going about four times a year before the pandemic. During the baby formula problem and for almost two years afterwards he would bring almost a full extra large suitcase stuffed with American baby formula for business associates as well as their family and friend who had babies. You have to remember in certain parts of China they still upheld the one child law, so your baby was all you had for a child. Well at that time they were pushing for breaking that law for the entire country and I do believe it has been broken to where you can have at least two children. Again I think.
I think it’s since been updated to a three child policy and parents are actively encouraged to have three kids, they’re that desperate to increase their population, but it’s not really working because of the large population deficit of women, the fact that you don’t unlearn years of propaganda immediately, and because having kids is expensive

I was in one of those fire stone rollovers, my family and I were going through Arizona in the summer and three of the tires went out at the same time. Luckily no one was hurt but it wasn’t cool there were children and babies in the car.
Most of these cases are down to negligence, but the powder milk one is downright evil.
I miss my Shrek cups, I never drank out them, just had them displayed in my room haha
I still got two of em
I always worry about recalled items at thrift stores.. I remember seeing the toxic csi kits at one 😬
I’ve seen several recalled items at thrift stores and at yard sales. Some were deadly!
Some artist’s pigments contain cadmium. I used to use cadmium yellows, and they seemed okay, but when I started to mix cadmium red bright with water, the odor made me gag. It didn’t smell like anything except plastic and sulfur. I finally had to dispose of it. When I heard it was toxic, I was unsurprised.
YO THE SHREK GLASSES! Me and a friend each had one, I think we used ours once for juice the day before the recall, and woke up to them being already disposed of. It was the first time I had ever heard of such a thing being so young, at first I was mad until I heard about why.
I saw a documentary on it, and they did change it to 2 children.
I think it’s since been updated to a three child policy and parents are actively encouraged to have three kids, they’re that desperate to increase their population, but it’s not really working because of the large population deficit of women, the fact that you don’t unlearn years of propaganda immediately, and because having kids is expensive
Holy shit, people remember the Sherk Glass cups? I still have mine at my uncle’s place and continue to use it. I never knew they were recalled for something toxic in them. Learn something new I guess lol. (Nvm, that’s for Sherk Forever After, I have the Sherk The Third cup)
Lol I had a phone case that had Shrek on it on my first phone. About two years later the case broke and then I had to have One of those otter boxes on it. Those things stink when you get a fresh new one
My granddaughter has a Shrek glass. I had no idea!
I have one of those Shrek Forever After glasses-the Donkey one!
I used to drink out of it, but not anymore-I now keep it on my desk and use it as a pencil cup.
When I see the Shrek glass cup: JUST TAKE MY MONEY!
Helix of a human rights movement and is a great deal to do with u and treat u

My mothers friends child was one of the victims to the Roman styled shades recall. Her friend walked out of the living room for 3 or so minutes to grab something and came Back in to find her kid hanging from the shades. I wish I could remember if he lived from the accident or not :/ I have a feeling he didn’t.
That’s adult. ): and the parents are blamed because they weren’t watching their kids 100% of them time which isn’t possible.
Interesting that there were seven breaks for commercials during my view of this TH-cam video on corporate malfeasance. Also interesting: how few of these corporate leaders seem to have been prosecuted even when evidence emerged that they knew their products were dangerous and still put them on the market.
5:20 I love that that McDonald's is clearly a former Burger King
One retailer had fans recalled. The blades could detach, posing a risk of being cut or killed.
Oh wow! Curious to that one now.
I was really into Polly Pocket before the recall. Like in 2003. Then I heard about the lead content and felt sick and was glad I didn't have them any more.
Were those mistreated cows starved? They looked very thin.
The only one I remember was the Galaxy Note 7. There were warnings at the airport that you couldn't bring them on flights (that was almost three years ago, when I was going overseas for my sister's wedding).
I have a 2010 Ford Mustang GT. Yes the airbags were recalled. Of course I did the driver's side first when the recall first came out. I just recently did the passenger side. Ford would send these pretty cool reminders to get it done. Well if dealerships would have the proper replacement parts made available (prior to supply chain crisis) at the time of the recall I would have done them both at the same time.
From my understanding is that Ford basically instead of admitting wrong with the Ford Explorer they simply founded it cheaper to blame it on Firestone
Both Ford and Bridgestone/Firestone were at fault-but yeah, I get it.
All companies try to find excuses.
I had the shrek glasses. They were a collectable so we never drank out of them and we kept them. My son was about 4 months old when my my infantino baby sling was recalled and my youngest had a Fisher price infant sleeper that come to find out could actually cause SIDS. I never found out about the problem with the sleeper until after she outgrew it. Still makes me sick when I think about all the time she spent in it as a newborn. My Explorer had the Firestone tires that were recalled and all I had to do was take it the the Ford place where they were replaced for free. Never thought about all the recalls I've had until this list.😬
I’m currently affected by the Philips Respironics CPAP, BiPAP and ventilator recall. Currently my CPAP machine is waiting to be either replaced or repaired
My paternal grandfather uses a CPAP machine-but luckily, he’s never used one of those recalled Philips Respironics machines.
I was a victim of the salmonella outbreak in 2008, I was 13 at the time and it was awful I thought I was dying. Took me a long time to eat anything with peanuts again, I'd look at a peanut butter sandwich and get phantom nausea
Rebecca I love your voice. Got to be one of the best voices of all time. If I ever get bad news I hope I could get it from you, somehow. Keep it up!

Box man
Snake from nokia
I remember in the movie Speed, Sandra Bullock said that driving the bus was like driving a great big Pinto.
The Shrek glassware recall was the first recall I was actively aware of while it was happening.
I was almost 12 years old, and remember seeing a sign on the drive thru window announcing the recall, and was super confused and shocked.
Also back then, learning about that recall led me down a deep rabbit-hole where I tried to find videos about any product-recall that I could, and watching all those videos gave me so much anxiety and fear.
Crazy, I did a research paper and presentation on the Takata airbags years ago for my English class.
I remember when the Galaxy Note 7 was recalled. A few of my friends bought the phones and they all exploded within a week.
I had a 2012 Jetta TDI that was in the recall. Was waiting for the fix when I hit a semi tire with the rim in it in the middle of I-80 at 10:00 PM. Was so lucky to walk away from that. Also lucky because I shorty after found another TDI 2011 from the same guy I got the first one from.
I had the ikea dresser that was recalled because it would flip over when drawers were left open or if it was too heavy. This happened when I was in like in high school so around 2015. As soon I saw it was recalled I brought it back immediately cuz I remember it falling on me multiple times as a kid, plus I needed a new dresser anyways 🤣🤣
I actually have a ikea dresser that was recalled due to it being very likely to tip over if to much is on it. We were never able to return it so i just have to make sure I don't over stack it.
Have you tried attaching that dresser to the wall? People do that a lot.
Thanks for uploading. Stay safe everyone 💝💝💝
Yep I was going Takata had to be number considering the company got absorbed into other companies.
Were the Ford Pinto explosions really as bad as that gag in “Top Secret” you showed?
Not quite. But they were bad.
I had an early 70s Ford Pinto that was rear-ended, completely scrunched. No explosion.

When it comes to the toys and glasses, a smart person stores them away and wait for the value to sky rocket.
I was thinking the same thing since now it’s a rare collectors item and will be hard to get after a few years!
Hearing Tylenol reminds me of dr cox from scrubs " it's regular strength Tylenol here's what ya do take some throw em at her what ever sticks THATS the dosage" good job no one actually did this phew
Solid reference! Love that show (except for the 9th and final season).
I had recently bought those Shrek glasses at a thrift store and have been using them. Oops lol.
What about the Boing 737 max recall. It tops almost everything we see here.
The Max wasn’t a recall, it was an ‘Airworthiness Directive’ requiring it to receive a software upgrade and get better pilot training.
The planes are back flying as normal now.
@@tgfan458 that Boeing stock at a discount right now.
@@tgfan458 It wasn't just a software upgrade. If it was they wouldn't have recalled every plane. They have installed additional sensor to detect the angle of attack.
@@muralipoojithvutukuri781 Recalling means to return all the products from the consumer to the manufacturer. The Max jets were just grounded wherever they were, until the defect was rectified.
Which they are fixed now and flying normally and quite successfully too.
Trust me, as a manager for Amazon, whose father works for Boeing Defence, I know a thing or two about recalls and the MCAS program.
@@tgfan458 How can you expect the consumers to return the product to its manufacturer when the product itself was banned from flying.
Since recall is not an option in this case, boing staff reached out to the grounded planes around the world to fix the errors before they got certified to fly.
Apart from the technical meaning of recall, this is the most costliest mistake made by a company that required every product to be fixed to minimise the errors.
I remember when those glass cups were being advertised, then my dad asked about them and learned they were making people sick
Oh my goodness, that peanut outbreak! I remember my gma and little brother go so, so, sick from eating peanut butter from that peanut company. My gma ended up in the ER. And my little brother was sick for weeks! Thankfully they both recovered and no one else in my house hold got sick, but it was scary as hell, cause at the time, we had no idea what was going on! 🥜
How everyone was ok after! 🖤🤍
@@Queen_Kellz_1120 Yeah, everyone is fine now. It was scary at the time, because we didn't know what was going on and neither did the doctors. But, thankfully my gma and brother pulled through and now we only eat organic Jif & Skippy haha
@@ChristionGirl45 that's good! Food poisoning sucks, even more so when it's fine bc of stupid decision making
Thank heavens your grandmother and little brother recovered! I’ve had food poisoning before (in late summer 2014)-it’s no laughing matter! I was in the hospital for two days on IV fluids and anti-diarrheal/anti-nausea meds.
Luckily, I felt much better by the time I was discharged.
As runners-up, I would suggest the Toyota recalls around 2010, and the Ikea dresser ("Malm") that was recalled because it tipped over easily.
The second Mattel scandal... not mentioned what it was but I can assume it had something to do with Thomas & Friends
Lead paint on its toys, it’s poisonous.
I worked in guest services at Target and was responsible for posting product recalls. Major recalls on brand names and/or expensive products got lots of media attention and a swift corporate response. The overwhelming majority of recalled products don’t, and it’s because they’re the $1 bin items. Believe it or not, it’s the most profitable area for ALL stores, and the high volume sold and constant overturn make recalls impossible. They’re the cheapest of the cheaply made foreign products sold only for profit. Walk on by.

I know some Jeeps can have the same issues as the Toyota's. It's terrifying when it happens, thankfully shifting it to neutral worked while the pedal had to be pulled back
Fact: you can have a crippling, family-wrecking addiction to Tylenol.
I remember the old bumper stickers for the Pinto: “Hit Me & We Blow Up Together!”

What’s your ministry called? Do you believe that Dungeons & Dragons is satanic
I got one of those Shrek glasses. When I heard they were recalled I kept it and just used it as a stationary holder and never drank from it xD
I have a Donkey glass-and until recently, I drank from it semi-regularly.
Now I’m going to use as a pencil/pen holder.
19:46 Jesus Christ... I'm against the death penalty blanketly, but how come we don't hold corporations accountable like that over here? A $10 million fine doesn't mean shit to a corporation bringing in multiple billions per year. That's just cost of doing business.
My right ear really enjoyed the first five seconds of this video
Wait a minute. People were worried about injesting cadmium but not worried about eating food from McDonald's. Talk about picking your poison.
I want that slow drip death

Any cadmium is too much cadmium!

My mother was given a Ford Pinto as a high school graduation gift in 1974, three years before I was born. Long story short, my uncle borrowed it one day without asking and wrecked it. Luckily it didn't explode.
Am I the only one who doesn't remember the Shrek glasses from McDonald's? I didn't even know they existed lol.
Mandela effect. From which universe are u from?
@@dread1262 One in which Shrek is only a myth and legend described in history books.
I didn’t even know they made them either. I never really had very many Shrek theme things except for my first phone case on my first cell phone and one of those Chia pet things
Another excellent Watch Mojo video.
I remember vaguely drinking milk from one of the Shrek glass
I need to get my airbag recalled, im glad I watches this!
Not only time Tylenol got their Products Recalled it was also in 2012 was when it got recalled because it has caused many Victims to get Liver Damage
Majority of it was the Tylenol tampering case.
My 2013 Yukon XL had a recall on the airbag where it randomly explodes and send metal flying.
Pfiser....Recalled....Huh, how about that!
I can't believe your the only one I seen talking about this. 👍😳🤔
What saddens me is the corporations will pay the fines, move on from the bodies, and still get support by people
I'm not sure if this is expensive but a China milk that illegally put some paint product in it and passed health test took lives of millions should be on here
Did a recall even happened though? Worst case is that they just waited for the melamine batches to run out.
@@PierIsABaraReader it did in 2008. Sanlu was sued for its scandal in 2008 and I heard one of the workers or sponsors was sentenced to death
The Donkey on the Shrek cups just trying to tell you " Jackass , the paint is poison, don't drink from this glass!!!".

There should be NO lead in ANY PRODUCT!
It's China. There will always be shit in all the cheap sketchy stuff they produce. They don't give two fucks if they can make a buck.
I had those Shrek glasses but my older sister broke them a long time ago ,when washing the dishes, I don't know whether to still be upset or glad she did that on accident
