Its always fun, not to mention improving your skill level, to get out there and do something out of the normal on a dirt bike. This week I went with some buddy's to Hanging Rock OHV trails in south eastern Ohio on a modified Honda 450RL. What a blast! Never got up to 100mph though!
I'm guessing you're in the low desert ? I moved to the high desert in 1986 . I brought 3 bikes with me . 2 street and one dirt . The house that I moved to was on the edge of 250 square miles of playground. The very first thing I did was pull my MR 175 off of the truck and take off into the unknown. I thought I was going to ride for hours yet after 30 minutes I couldn't hold onto the bars anymore. It was a priceless adventure. I even converted my Maxim 550 street bike into a dirt bike . 115 mph and it would climb hills my dirt bike wouldn't touch . What a flashback you just gave me !!! Thank You for sharing . - Live And Let Ride
Several years ago I had a 1997 Husaberg FE501. According to the gps it hit 107 on the playa at black rock desert in Nevada. Wide ratio 6 speed still had low enough gears for tight technical trails, and Still did over 100 if I had a long enough flat straight away.
My ‘99 WR-400 F has hit 97 miles per hour on occasion with me out in Borrego areas in some of the smoother washes & on highway cruises at 70-75 still !! At almost 100 mph things come at you rather quick… just saying . Stay rubber side down guys . 😎
You don’t want an old KTM, they were junk. That’s why they created the acronym Keep Throwing Money. They were capable of going fast but rarely won a race. They are better today at finishing but you could count their Baja wins on one hand.
Yeah. Those are fast. The jcr Honda has the record for fastest bikes in the desert. I’m honoring the fact that they won Baja 1000 11 times. But I surely love my 500 exc
When Joe and Ryan took me down that technical section pretty sure I was crying about it not loving it like you did lol. Those are my guys! Awesome people. Joe built my 450X and with 15/47 gearing it hit 106 mph on GPS.
I raced desert in late 70's - had a geared up ktm that belonged to my brother - I weighed about 150 pounds - I think it was a 465. Across a dry lake I wound it out - local cops were radaring top speeds. I was the fastest - 118 mph !
Sorry guys but in 1981 dirtbike magazine geared up a stock KTM 495 and did 123+ miles per hour so you’re doing here is not scratching the surface. I know I owned one.
You owe me a recliner! At 100mph I rode wood rails right off the chair. Sits on the metal frame now not good! Great ride and exciting thanks for the ride along. Only 7 more days to the next adventure.
Wow I have ridden just about everywhere in the Mojave desert and havent figured out where you're at yet. I randomly saw that same petroglyph while trail riding out here in Laughlin Nevada. The box shaped one. Pretty cool
Great content, followed and subscribed to the channel. PS: I recently moved to Vegas and I ride, sure would like to know where these trails are located :)
On a very similar (or possibly the same for all I know) lake bed I got my 2012 KTM 690 Enduro R indicating 118mph on the speedo. My buddy got 125mph on his 2018 Husqvarna 701 Enduro. But they’re no JCR Honda’s in the whoops 😅
I’ve owned a Kawasaki KLX650 1993 That bike could do 192 km an hour stock standard 15 tooth sprocket on the front in a 46 on the back I use the KLR back sprocket
Pretty silly title, top speed is mostly just a function of gearing once you have 50 or 60 HP and big bikes have had that sort of power since the early 80.
Ha ha ha, you Silly Brock. You maybe should consider an older Maico 700cc dirt bike? It has been written that it is one of the fastest production dirt bikes on the planet.
I built a 1994 XR650L clock me at 120 mi an hour on the flats going to San Felipe 100 mile an hour dirt bike existed long ago many 2-stroke 500 would do 100mpr get down Diaries of a motorcycle man

I have not been there. Sounds cool. Great bike

Haha. Great memories.
Several years ago I had a 1997 Husaberg FE501. According to the gps it hit 107 on the playa at black rock desert in Nevada. Wide ratio 6 speed still had low enough gears for tight technical trails, and Still did over 100 if I had a long enough flat straight away.
That’s real fast ! Wow
The 6 speed gave Husabergs from 450 on up 100mph + top speeds.
Faster is better

Yeah. That’s super fast on dirt.
In 1990 down in Baja, a stock 250 KTM 96 mph, the 500 KTM 116 mph with just gearing.
That’s smoking fast. I need one
You don’t want an old KTM, they were junk. That’s why they created the acronym Keep Throwing Money. They were capable of going fast but rarely won a race. They are better today at finishing but you could count their Baja wins on one hand.
You will need both hands and feet to count KTM’s Dakar Rally wins. Dakar, the toughest race on the planet.
Yeah. I love my Ktm 500 exc
After Johnny Campbell passed me at 100+ MPH at the Adelanto GP, I got my XR650r a week later..
Haha. Yeah you did.
Back in the old whiplash racing days in Arizona I raced my built KX500 I gps’d my bike at 113.8 MPH out at Gila bend.
Smokin fast !
My stock standard ktm500exc will hit 160kph (100mph) on the dirt…just saying.
Indeed!
Yeah. Those are fast.
The jcr Honda has the record for fastest bikes in the desert. I’m honoring the fact that they won Baja 1000 11 times.
But I surely love my 500 exc
Awesome ride, Brock, and a great environment to improve one's adventure bike skills! Good times with great friends!!🤘
You got that right! Skill building
My XRR topped out at 94MPH at the Mint 400 last March :)
All while doing wheelies in sure. :)
My 2013 KTM500exc does over 100. Ride safe kids!
That’s a great bike. I have one myself.
When Joe and Ryan took me down that technical section pretty sure I was crying about it not loving it like you did lol. Those are my guys! Awesome people. Joe built my 450X and with 15/47 gearing it hit 106 mph on GPS.
Haha. Yep I understand. And yeah that’s reallllly fast on a dirt bike

No way ! That’s awesome

Yeah. I’m sure there are faster bikes. But there is only one Johnny Cambell. 11x Baja 1000 winner.
@@MotoMission.Johnny only wins because I'm not in competition with anyone or anything ❤
That was my dad! Rod Bush! 123.75mph at El Mirage Dry Lake!
Most new 450s will go over a 100mph quite easily with gearing change.
That’s what I am learning. Impressive. I am celebrating the Baja wind on the Hondas. They have been showing the world some serious desert speed
You owe me a recliner! At 100mph I rode wood rails right off the chair. Sits on the metal frame now not good! Great ride and exciting thanks for the ride along. Only 7 more days to the next adventure.
Sent you a tracking number. It is on the way.
When I race Baja with SCORE on my old Husaberg 650 and a 6 speed transmission, I run 16/45 gearing. Stock 15/45 will do 112.
Good tip. I think you would beat me for sure.
So awesome! You are truly living the dream my friend. I would love to ride with you one day!
Let’s ride
Another great video!!!! Let’s go race Baja!
Let’s go !
Wow I have ridden just about everywhere in the Mojave desert and havent figured out where you're at yet. I randomly saw that same petroglyph while trail riding out here in Laughlin Nevada. The box shaped one. Pretty cool
I’m sworn to secrecy.
Great place to ride !
Great video. Can’t wait til it cools off a bit here in Cali so I can get out to Mojave which is one of my favorite places to rip.
Take me with you
Fun fun fun!! love it! Great work as always Brock.
Big thanks. It was indeed fun fun fun.
That’s some super technical riding!!!!!
And great memories made there
That's a technical section! Looks so fun.
Was a blast
That’s awesome!! Out in creation. Love it!
Glad you like it!
A sand mirage, triple digit dirt bike and some ancient hooligans' graffiti. Nice day !
Yes it was. Good memories
Very cool Brock
Great content, followed and subscribed to the channel.
PS: I recently moved to Vegas and I ride, sure would like to know where these trails are located :)
Thanks for joining Hope to cross paths w ya when I come to vegas.

Haha. Oh yeah. Those whoops. Yeah the jcr Honda is the best and most proven race bike for the desert.
Got a couple of ADV bikes myself and picked up '24 WR450F little while ago. You do Superbikes as well?
Hey. Yeah I dabble in that.
Dirt bike magazine modded a. ktm 495 for 120 plus in the early 1980s. In the mid 1970's the top riders on Huskys and ktm all exceeded 100mph,
The good ole days
Desert racers are crazee cool.
They are next level
That’s like a salt flat without the salt!!!
Yeah. Insane
I’ve owned a Kawasaki KLX650 1993 That bike could do 192 km an hour stock standard 15 tooth sprocket on the front in a 46 on the back I use the KLR back sprocket
Super fast.
And still doin' it - got a souped up ktm 525 exc and wife on a Yamaha r 1 on pavement next to me clocked me on a dirt road at 100....
Yeahhhh. Awesome
FUN!!!!
Pretty silly title, top speed is mostly just a function of gearing once you have 50 or 60 HP and big bikes have had that sort of power since the early 80.
All silliness. Just having fun
Ha ha ha, you Silly Brock. You maybe should consider an older Maico 700cc dirt bike? It has been written that it is one of the fastest production dirt bikes on the planet.
That is a monster
Dude, any 1290R KTM CLEARS WELL OVER 100 MPH on dirt….
But did it win Baja 1000?
That’s what’s special about this bike.
8:35 Yes, but where on the planet Mars ?
Exactly !!!! /)
I had my 501 up to 100. I think. lol
I had my 701 up to 116. But not on dirt.
On a “closed coarse” of course……
Of course. :)
Nah bro with a 14 tooth counter shaft sprocket, my KLR will do 105. Not on dirt mind you!
Haha. Let’s try it
500 exc will do 100 stock.
Yeah. I am celebrating the Baja bike here. That jcr Honda team is amazing
My 350 excf can do it stock.
I ran a stock exc 500 100 mph on the lakebed in the San Felipe 250. With the gearing, I couldn’t coax it over 100, rev limiter and all.
Lol you guys think you have the only good place to ride lol ,the whole desert is great sorry I live in Kingman I never see anybody out there .😊
So much to ride
KTM fastest production dirtbike 496 ,113 mph
Out of the crate.
I have a signed jersey from John.
I need one or two of those
I built a 1994 XR650L clock me at 120 mi an hour on the flats going to San Felipe 100 mile an hour dirt bike existed long ago many 2-stroke 500 would do 100mpr get down Diaries of a motorcycle man
Yeow. Nice I like the speed out there
Lol 100 mph isn't that fast my Tw 200 does 70 mph on dirt with 16hp
Yeah. My z50 can do 130
:)
@@MotoMission. is it still for sale with that ocean front property in Arizona ?
Yeah. Make an offer. :)
The really kool guys don’t gloat we just go around you.
Let’s race !
:)
@@MotoMission. I see your fond of lake beds. Say Johnson Valley Turkey dayish.
Indeed
Wow! Who knew Honda made dirt bikes?
Fast ones
