Brock, You Rock! Another cinematic gem with lots of little laughs. Love the “Where are we?” and varying responses. It’s a great personality test. Cheers Brother.
Exactly what was the major flaw you speak of......oil getting into the head after a drop, on horizontal twin is entirely normal....Poor fella was learning the hard way that his overloaded bike, his capabilities, and the bikes weight, was not what he expected....
i have that same BMW, ive never experienced that problem with it but i think your right Brock, he must have gotten oil past the rings when he layed it over. solution... open it up and ride it like ya stole it!!
For thirty-five years all the travel I did was out east, now I only go west so its nice to see the beautiful scenery that I'd missed/will probably never see. As usual your video work is great, especially the drone views. Thanks
Graham has some nice gear….but I would lighten that beemer by putting the majority in dad’s truck. Good you stayed with him and talked him thru the oil burning issue. Beautiful leaf color.
Welcome to my part of the country, Brock. I might assume this was filmed last fall, 2023? Because we've had near zero rain and very warm temps this year. Anyway , cool to see you up this way. Ive done several BDRs, but have yet to do my local one. Im in a 4x4 myself. Your vids keep getting better and better. ❤❤
@ definitely! Snowing today. Don’t know if you remember me but my name is Paul Young. I was the youth pastor at FBC Simsboro in Louisiana when did the DNOW event back in 2020.
Was on the Cherohala Skyway and stopped to help a GS rider that had tipped over. That bike was smoking really bad and missing when he got is restarted. Turns out he and his friends were from Monterey, MX. Hope the motor was OK
Hit the nail on the head with the smoke (no pun intended haha) but fell over on my GS 1300 a few weeks ago. Same exact thing until I cleared it out riding on down the trail. Great video as usual sir!
Another good one! Although I have a problem, probably only you would understand but my recliner was crushing along about 35 and all of a sudden it started spitting out ping pong balls. Do you know anything about that? Only 7 more days.
Some will say it’s a design flaw. That’s for you to decide. Some have complained about this happening and making smoke for a while. I’m neutral to it myself. I think BMW makes a great bike
oil in the exhaust not above the head, but good you stayed with him anyway. all bikes will do that as well as cars f you roll them upside down. so try not to do that.
I like how you got the wife involved videoing some landmarks. Had a 1200 GS that did the same when it fell over. Eventually sold it for the reliability of a T7. Loving the scenery of NEBDR.
Enjoy your videos but the sensationalized titles on TH-cam are becoming too much. It’s not just this one but plenty of other motorcycle TH-camrs as well. How do you get clicks without sounding like the National Enquirer? 🤷♂️

Awesome! Thank you! I love comments like these !
Helping the other rider is exactly what it’s all about. You’re a straight up Dude. Happy Trails and Safe Travels friend.
Shouldn't try a BDR on big bike without proper ADV training.
Thanks. And thanks for watching.

Haha. We all gotta learn.
Yeah If that bikes is on its side for too long it will make it smoke for about 30 min.
But it’s fine. Great bike

Haha. That’s how I want to ride !
Yeah I think that’s what happened.
After riding in the Northeast for 40+ yrs I love seeing a new persons perspective of the roads I love !
Such a beautiful place
I rode up that way two years ago. All back road. It was a blast.
It’s so nice

Very cool to hear. Thank you.
It’s nice to see Auny’s activities while you are riding.
Yeah. She is gonna do more of that.
Graham has some nice gear….but I would lighten that beemer by putting the majority in dad’s truck. Good you stayed with him and talked him thru the oil burning issue. Beautiful leaf color.
Yeah. That’s good advice.
Been fun following your vids of the NEBDR. Natural Bridge state park is a little gem of a park. I'm in Staatsburg NY so this is my backyard.
I like your backyard.
Such beautiful scenery!! Great video!
Thank you very much!
My neck of the woods near Olana. Hiking trails Dow the hillside. Beautiful area.what was the name of the seasonal road after the Olana clip?
I have nooooo idea.
That was awesome that you took the time to hang with that guy on the bmw . You’re a good guy in my book . Of course I thought you was anyway 👍
Welll thank ya

We just filmed it this fall. It got cold on me. As you will soon see.
I loved being up in your front yard
You guys need to come to the Poconos, Pennsylvania
I know it’s beautiful this time of year.
@ definitely! Snowing today. Don’t know if you remember me but my name is Paul Young. I was the youth pastor at FBC Simsboro in Louisiana when did the DNOW event back in 2020.
I do remember. Awesome
Lot of beautiful colors. Drive safe 🤘🔥🏍️🏁
Thank you, I will

It can happen. It will scare you if you don’t know that is happening.
Another great one. Love yal. Can't wait to sell yal soon!!
See ya soon.
Another great video. Why do you think Graham does not put the bulk of his luggage in his dad’s truck. Would make his life a lot easier.
Not sure. But that’s good advice. I always try and make it lighter
Thanks for the video.
Thanks for watching.

Thanks for confirming. I was only guessing
All the GS's do that if you tip them "upside down". A bit of oil gets on the header and it'll smoke for just a little.
@@MeerkatADV for what it's worth...really like your channel. Watch quite a bit of your stuff, keep up the good work 👍
That makes it fun
@@MotoMission. Absloutley! More adv channels the better imo haha
Beautiful ride!
It sure is! Thanks for watching

Sounds like a serious problem. There is no cure for this. I’m sorry to hear your news.
@@MotoMission.I think a famous illusionist had the same problem if I remember correctly. 🤩
I have heard that rumor
Love this😊😊😊😊❤❤❤
Good job
Thanks
Dying to ride the nebdr in the spring
It’s a great ride. Love it !
I do think those temporary signals are on a timer. No in ground sensors.
Do you ride a BMW?
@@MotoMission.He’s commenting on the traffic light. 😮
Oh. Haha.
I thought the BMW had some light on the dash
Never mind. I am going back to sleep now
Actually the bike is designed to do that if the oil sump is over filled. but it's more the design of laying engine cylinders down on the sides.
Glad it straightened out. All good now.
So what was the major design flaw in BMW motorcycles?
Wondering that myself. You are correct, just a little oil slipped past. SOP for these engines when left for awhile on side
Some will say it’s a design flaw. That’s for you to decide.
Some have complained about this happening and making smoke for a while.

@ I must say, never seen one puff smoke quite that long. Typically will clear out (if it even does it), few seconds
oil in the exhaust not above the head, but good you stayed with him anyway.
all bikes will do that as well as cars f you roll them upside down. so try not to do that.
Haha. Yeah I agree
I like how you got the wife involved videoing some landmarks. Had a 1200 GS that did the same when it fell over. Eventually sold it for the reliability of a T7. Loving the scenery of NEBDR.
Yeah. She will be doing more of that. Are you enjoying that t7?
@ not a GS but loving the simplicity of it. Just need to upgrade the suspension still , then I think it’ll be exactly where I want it.
👍
never trust small country town signs the town workers are not to motivated lol
More likely its oil in the air box.
Oooooo. Yeah maybe so

Yeah I hear ya. I wish I had an answer.
Thanks for bearing w me as I figure this thing out.
Wonder why the guy on the BMW carries all of his stuff and packs with him, he could just let his dad carry truck 🤷🏻♂️
Oh yeahhh. Haha
