    I put the Optimum Tire Coating on my gf's old truck tires back in June of 2021, and today, January of 2022 it's still going strong.
    I hate greasy tire shine products, which makes this a promising option.

    Using Meguiars Endurance Gel, but I have big ol Bfgoodrich 275/60/15s, so got a lot of real estate to cover, just rub it in with an old rag, turn to a clean portion of the rag for a final wipe.

    Carpro Perl works best for me. Lasts several weeks, can be diluted 1:1, one coat gives a semi mat finish, rain doesn't wash it off once cured. Apply wait a few minutes and wipe tires with a micro fiber towel to even out the finish and remove excess product.

    • @ShiftedPerspective
      @ShiftedPerspective 5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I love CarPro Perl, I haven't found anything better yet! It doesn't last as long as a coating, but it's not a big deal to add some every other wash

    Use the optimum stuff right and it will do the job probably.
    My go-to tire coat if carpro perl. Properly applied it easily did 2000km and 3months lately, some roadtrips during the rain. It was fine after hitting it with strong tire cleaner and stiff brush. It lost most of the shine but tires kept black and water beading was there. Even on barely APC-ed tires carpro diluted 1-2 with water does hundreds of kilometers easily. Tested it against some other stuff, even on the same tire same time. Didn't found more capable and usually it kepps going 3x the time. You can dilute more than suggested 1-1 to get it more watery hence easier to apply.

    Thanks for including Optimum Tire Protection & Coating (TP&C) in your test. A few notes, like most Optimum products, less is more, and in this case you used way too much Optimum Tire Protection & Coating (TP&C). Using the amount you used will cause the streaking you experienced and possibly eventually cracking. While all products used are all coatings, application methods will vary from each manufacturer. Here are the official instructions for Optimum Tire Protection & Coating (TP&C)

    the optimum product is a touch more work to apply. I have also found that using a foam wax applicator is the best way to apply. You were also right about a single application giving a matte finnish. While not ideal for a shop, I have found that you do need to touch up this product a bit as it dries. 1 thing I LOVE about the optimum product is the fact dust does not cling to it the way it does most other dressings. Over all, the optimum is 1 of my 2 current favorite coatings. The other being carpro perl.

    I used the Optimum tire coat and it came out nicely on some new all season tires, however when I put it on my summer tires the exact same way it turned out horribly. Blotchy, nasty, and flaky, then it turned brownish when dried. Cleaned the tire exactly as you mentioned. It was outrageously hard to get off and even out. I went back to using Carpro Perl 1:1.

    Jaison I tried so many tire shines over the years. Some of my favorites are honest wash tire shine. Carpro pearl was good. But just this week I found the best tire coating ever. Company dura coating, it's called dura tire costing. It's a tire costing that applies and dries dry to the touch a d gives an amazing shine. And best of all they claim it lasts one year!!! And no dirt sticks to it

  • @MyGuyKirby

    Tuff Shine recommends to NOT use anything more than just your normal auto soap. That will give it the best life on the tire. Plus for maximum shine try 3-to-5 layers. But key to any of those products is the preparation of the tire as you stated! Nice way to give us a new type of video.

    Great video and testing. Regarding the Optimum products, I do believe less is for sure better. Several videos with Yven from Opimum showing the products. With the tire coat, he shows a video with an air type sprayer that puts a fine mist down and it looks amazing. On my list of products to try for sure. Also like VRP but if I can simply spray a thin coat and it holds up it's a bonus.

    I've always despised Meguiars hyper dressing, I know it's subjective but I don' t like tires looking like they just had greasy pizza rubbed all over them. Plus even if wiped down some, when it's hot outside hyper dressing never sets and it still slings, also it has zero longevity. For water based dressing I've been a huge fan of Zaino Z16.
