A video that discuss weight transfer and utilizing the takeaway with other parts of the swing would help me a lot. I believe I over think this part of the swing and I end up swinging very awkward. I either focus on the hands and club face and then get to handsy or i focus to much on lower body and end up feeling very weird with my hips/ knees. Great work and thanks for all the good content!
Totally agree with that, timing my weight transfer is difficult for me. I tend to transfer too late. Some sort of trick on timing it better on the backswing would help.
Feel ya pain brother, past 3 rounds I'm hitting balls like rory on the range but as soon as I hit that 1st tee box my brain goes into fart mode and start overthinking all steps of my swing
@@garrybyrd8476 once you look at one short of a golf swing tip video it’s like never-ending from there out. Swing thoughts are like the meme of the guy with a million thoughts in his head except it’s me on a golf course 😂
Would love to see this video be made as well “drills”. Also thank you for this video on takeaway because I can do this on my phone. Match up my camera angles and with your video have a bench mark to compare.
28 years addictive golfer here and the slow first 2 feet take way line is single best tip i ever gotten. Hit a drive with little draw 285 almost all carry high up there looking so beautiful. Thnx😂
Found this YT video yesterday and went to range. Been struggling badly and had gotten into some old habits. It took about 25 balls before it started to click. Hit it as well as I have in months. Hoping it shows up in tournament this weekend. Thanks Grant for this simple fix and for not ‘over instructing’ with too many brain drains at once.
As someone that used to struggle with a slice, I started using the "low, slow, and to the top" swing thought which along with a stronger grip changed my swing path to in-to out and now I play a draw and hit the ball so much farther. Great video!
Thank you Grant for a great lesson. I went to my home course today and played nine holes. Usually I shoot around 42or43 after nine. Today I shot 38. Your the best
With all of the other issues I have had with the golf swing over the years, getting this sorted out has been a game changer - it has naturally fixed so many other issues I had, by starting the swing correctly with these simple thoughts and actions. Thanks so much Grant!!!
Thanks for all you do for your subscribers. I really enjoy how you break the swing down into something that can be seen and understood. Many teachers use terms they expect everyone to already know but you show us what the term actually mean. Thanks again
Grant, your explanations are so clear and precise, love it! Can you do a video explaining the concept of the backswing AFTER the takeaway? I have a nice takeaway thanks to videos like yours, but then I still find myself lifting up my arms or swinging too far 'up and inside' on the backswingl
The video is right on-point! I've found that if I hover the club behind the ball, my first move is always straight back and not inside...it helps me from coming over the top. Great video, Grant.
Jeeez Grant, so glad i watched this one. I have always complicated the takeaway for myself. Strong left hand grip has gotten me into weird positions but on the range now i realised i am perfect for the first part. Club slightly shut and pointing outside. That when my hands would flip it inside and, well, the rest is history. 😂 Striped it now on the range with my irons. Even the old dreaded 3 iron that's been gathering dust in the bag. Struggled a little with driver though but will figure that out. Thanks again. Really enjoy your content! Cheers from a sunny South Africa
Grant I just had a lesson and the coach told me my tempo was inconsistent and this solved many of my swing issues that I thought were something else. It's amazing how important tempo is.
Great video Grant , that’s something I’ve done with my coach all winter, would love to see one on the downswing similar to how you’ve presented this one 👍
u fixed my putt with low and slow. I make sure i drag the putter on the ground in back swing for 2 inches when i hit it. It gave me way more power and accuracy.. thanks Grant!
wow needed this!! Been struggling with the idea of the clubhead starting outside the hands. I'm shooting 68 tomorrow now!! Thanks Grant...see next...drill to always keep the hands ahead of the club at impact...I struggle with stopping my hands at the ball and flipping.
I’m going to use these steps from now on. I’m a new golfer and slice, and it definitely comes from me drawing the club back too far inside then coming over the top to compensate.
As a fairly new golfer, I'd love to see and hear your thoughts on topping the golfball.. All the reasons why this could happen. Love all the content, keep it up G!
Can't wait to try these tips out. I'm new and building a golf swing, lol, my husband just started up golfing again after quite a few years. He has helped so much with the basics and your videos are helping both of us with consistency! Thanks! For me, I love the driver which apparently I am good at, and I like putting, but both Irons and wedges are my Achilles heel. I keep either hitting the ground and its jarring through my arms or missing the ball 😂 Balance seems to be rough for me. Any tips for that would be awesome! 😊
When you set up keep your spine angle. Don’t stand up or lower your angle, and make sure you aren’t releasing your club early causing you to chunk it (hitting the ground). If you hit the top of the ball you need to keep your eyes on the ball throughout the swing.
What's up Grant! Nice video, can you do a part 2 or part 3 to this? I feel like I have a solid grip, good take away, but I struggle with the transfer at the top as well as making consistent contact at the bottom. Maybe some swing thoughts at the top of the swing/transfer would help. As well as the down swing and making contact. Flat wrist, bowed wrist, swinging in to out, how much do you turn your hands over, keeping your head still, keeping your arms straight after you make contact, rotating, transfer your weight. Lots of questions, but again this video helps a lot, thanks👊
How to Fix the duck hook shot. I normally drive the ball great....around 275-ish carry and many times rolls out to 300-ish depending on the ground. Pretty high ball flight as well... I would say borders on too high most of the time. But when I'm doing everything right, driver is my absolute favorite club in the bag because of how consistent it is vs irons and wedges. But somewhere in each summer I develop a duck hook with the driver and can NOT stop hitting the ball from the absolute toe of the club. I use foot powder spray on the club face when I have trouble with something like this. So with all sorts of adjustments to ball position, tee height, weaken the grip, and putting tees in the ground to get more nuetral path instead of 'in too out'....I'm still hitting the toe and what looks like some major top spin on the ball. I'm talking it might fly 75-100 yards going hard left, and the spin shoots the ball down to the ground. This is driver only. All other clubs are normal...average to slightly below average. I normally score below bogey golf.
Have you tried a shorter shaft? That'll bring to closer to the ball which changes the lie. You'll have a lot more control. I have my cut down about an inch, and it's a game changer. My miss is a hook and it's the worst. My normal shot is a cut
Great video grant. Would love to see a video on green side rough when it’s sat down and sitting up. Those are where I lose a lot of strokes around the course. Thanks 🙏
I’m a fellow Arccos user and a tournament scratch golfer chasing the dream of plus territory in my 40’s. I think a video going over your data and planning your practice would be a good video.
I’d be interested in what you thoughts were of the STOW STICK golf accessory…. It sure has made a difference in my putting movements…. The resistance band also helped out in keeping my hands out of my game… “Thank You” for your for your well explained video..
First time watcher. I like it. I'll be trying it out tomorrow in my net. I have a qui k question. What do I "pull" my irons so much? I have a really good hit, fine distance, but always angles left, and I can't seem to fix my posture to correct it hahaha
I would love to see a video on how the legs should work in the golf swing. Any drills for creating separation in the legs and then posting up on the left leg. When I watch a video of myself, both of my knees sway forward in tandem in the downswing, and it doesn't look right. It also appears like I'm reaching the impact position in a squat position because I don't post up/straighten the left leg well.
Can you please do a video on the setup? Ball position relative to your stance, how far back you should be, etc. for each club? Driver, fairway wood, iron, wedge. Thanks.
Great content as usual! You obviously, and arguably, have the most butter golf swing out there. Just wondering if you can tackle the different steps of the golf swing with respect to players with different heights (and other parameters such as age and flexibility)? I mentioned height because this might be easier to tackle. My question assumes club length is held constant. I believe this isn't addressed much in youtube and helps with your viewers who, like me, strive to have a swing like yours but may have different body types. Thanks Grant and team for the top tier content as usual. More power to yall!
Grant man, would love to see ball position video for various clubs with an explanation of why. I know this can vary by player but I also know that there is a “baseline” for the general area the ball should be in for stock shots for each club.
Love the video. I think what would be helpful (for me at least) is showing/explaining the feel of what to do after you reach that checkpoint and getting it to the top. I assume there will be a different video about the transition, but checkpoint --> top of backswing would be very nice to see.
If you have two cameras on Grant, consider doing a split screen view when he is demonstrating something. Sometimes i'ts difficult to get a good visual during the cuts. Solid content though, love learning from the channel!
I would like to see a video on the follow through, I have a real problem with hands turning over after the ball strike which seems to steering the ball. I've tried putting a ice lolly stick down my glove on to the top part of my wrist to stop the roll over but it still happens, any advice Grant would be amazing. Cheers from Australia
I like this check point. Maybe another video of all the ideal check points? 17 handicap here - my biggest issues is being too flippy & scrunched while making contact and not releasing the club. Any thoughts?
Grant because you hit irons so well can you talk about width of stance and ball position for all irons. Also with that how do you hit it clean-I tend not to divot at all or very rarely and when I do my hit is terrible. If I scuff the ground I usually hit a great shot but not in line with my target.
The other thing I'd love to see a video on is the transition. I noticed I hit the ball a lot better when I start the downswing with the lower body before the club reaches the top of the backswing. But it doesn't feel natural. So I'd love some drills to improve that.
Grant any chance you can give us a vid on grips? Just watching your vid with BDS (with joes HIO) and see you interlocking even on pitch shots. Would loveee your perspective on the benefits.
I think a video on different shafts and the different level of irons and drivers to help beginner golfers better understand what clubs suit their game as it develops and gets better.
Can you explain how to hit cuts, draws, fades, stingers, all the shot shaping techniques. At least all your thought processes that you go through and set up when you want to hit a certain type of shot. That would be amazing.
Love the teaching vids! Should the elbow of my glove hand (lead arm) be facing out towards the target. If heard this tip before but it feels unnatural and uncomfortable depending on how much I turn my arm. I also don't do it naturally and feel as if I have to think about it and force it. Any feed back on this would be greatly appreciated, Thanks.
Bunkers are my nemesis. I put so much effort into making the bottom of my swing arc be just past the ball so I make good ball then ground contact. In a bunker I try to tell myself to hit behind the ball, but then my swing takes over and I hit the ball before I hit the sand. Good players say bunkers are easy but they are definitely the most inconsistent part of my game.
Hey Grant - not sure how doable it would be but it would be helpful with things like this to somehow have a shot from your view. The down the line view is good, but when I’m doing these drills, it’s sometimes hard to tell if I’m too much outside my hands (for example). Seeing your perspective could help that

I saw a video of analyzing how scottie transfers weight during his swing on instagram maybe pga page. That visualization helped me a lot imo.
are you me? 😂 same boat. have no lower body turn from Achilles tear a while ago, so it’s either all arms or way over rotate & sky hook it left
I would love a video showcasing several different practice drills for a range session or at home, that allow a person to go through the whole bag
This is exactly what I would need as well

You should do one on preventing early extension. Being tall I suffer a lot from it
I'm 5"5 and also struggle with this and humping the ball.
When i try to fix it, face is wide open
My favorite teaching video of yours. Been working on this a lot the last year or so. Feels great, one piece turn.

I started to do the Faldo Takeaway Drill and it made my takeaway damn near perfect everytime
Grant's swing is a thing of absolute beauty

Great video!!! Very well explained. This helped me tremendously more than a lot of other videos!
Next video: How to engage the lower body!
such a great video, this explains my horrific slice after recording my swing I was so inside at the takeaway
You should do a video on how you shape the ball for a fade or a draw. Would be interesting hearing your style to working the ball.
id like to see a video on how to align properly i always struggle with aligment. also following thru lower to the body i always finish so high up
love seeing a grant teaches video!
I literally just watched the old video of this topic on the good good labs channel... perfect timing thanks Grant😂
Great video, I’m going to share this with my son. Thanks
I like this check point. Maybe another video of all the ideal check points? 17 handicap here - my biggest issues is being too flippy & scrunched while making contact and not releasing the club. Any thoughts?
Can you breakdown your full backswing? How do you get to the top? What are your cues after the take away?
loves your videos so insightful and i also like watching it because your swing and rythm are amazing

Low and slow is my new swing thought, all I needed to hear
Your teaching video is help me better at golf❤
how high should be the tee position cause idk if it’s to high or to low when teeing off ❓
Brilliant! Now the second part of the takeaway pls.
Love what youre doing here! Thank you comrade!
I think a video on different shafts and the different level of irons and drivers to help beginner golfers better understand what clubs suit their game as it develops and gets better.
Great video Grant. I’m really struggling with the slice when it comes to using anything longer than a 7iron. Can you help?
Can you explain how to hit cuts, draws, fades, stingers, all the shot shaping techniques. At least all your thought processes that you go through and set up when you want to hit a certain type of shot. That would be amazing.
Thanks this has really helped
I am in my 50's. You make the check points simple and not complex. Any tips on 50 yards and below?
The biggest area I need to improve is reading greens. Judging power. And finding the right line. Video Grant! Video! This will help me break 80
I would like to see a video about swing thoughts or how to simplify swing to not overthink each step of a it
Lately I’m hitting so far behind the ball with irons so any help there would be great!
I would like to see a video of reading greens understanding grain and all of it.
Hey Grant! Awesome video, keep up the great work, legend! Could you do a video with Nick Schiavi aka slomoswinglibrary?
I need tips for compressing the ball more. Struggle with early extension and using my hands too much.
Hey Grant - not sure how doable it would be but it would be helpful with things like this to somehow have a shot from your view. The down the line view is good, but when I’m doing these drills, it’s sometimes hard to tell if I’m too much outside my hands (for example). Seeing your perspective could help that
