From the face on view, that telephone pole is in line with your head … no sway on the backswing, but allow the head to move toward target as you extend through the ball. A great visual that you don’t sway away from target on the backswing 👍🏻 Good stuff, as always, Steve 👊🏻
Steve it’s interesting that you focus on body / torso turn and that “wrist set” will look after itself in the backswing. IMHO I think that you are promoting a more effective swing for the swing plane.
On your practice swing your head moves forward. On the ball strike your head stays in setup position. So you are starting the turn with your hips then torso while not really "arming the swing" and moving your weight forward while keeping head still prior to striking the ball. Simple....?
About the same. I scoop though. working on that. It doesn't matter what one club's distance is, it matters how far apart all of your irons are and knowing all of their distances @michaelfagan2630
If you have consistent ball/turf contact and feel like you are playing well then don’t fret too much about other golfer’s distance. Today some sets have 21 degree 5 irons while others have 27 degree Irons. My 1960s and 1970s vintage Hogan 5 irons (I have 40 sets that I play….no modern clubs for me!) were made with as much as 32 degrees of loft. In other words, the number on the bottom of the club is rather irrelevant. Get to know your own set and your real distances and enjoy. Let the Bryson’s of the world smash the 175 pitching wedges!
If its not enough, take a 4 iron or hybrid etc. A club goes as far as it goes when you hit it. Doesn't matter how far mine or tigers 5 iron goes. (mine goes significantly less than tigers and less than yours.)
Why all the pacing at the opening of your clips? You should consider getting a dark suit, top hat and cane for these show openings. Maybe a small rabbit placed directly under the top hat for a quick guffaw from the viewer. 😉
SCOTLAND!!! Amazingly nice day for this time of year

POLL: I'm hitting about 175 yards with my 5 iron and I feel like this isn't enough. What are other people's range with a 5 iron?
About the same, think that’s fine 😊
