Nice 4runner. We own one and we bought it brand new. Everything original and in mint shape. 100% no rush because never been driven out for 25 yrs. Garage kept and only comes out when there's a car show. Glad we kept it

Still have my ‘86. We bought it in 1989. Still in good shape!

The Golden Age foe Toyota. They were making so many excellent models during this era, and all were superbly built and totally reliable.
Back in the day, I owned 2 Hilux's, an MR2 Turbo and a Celica...All brilliant.
Beautiful 4Runner...rebuilding mine right now.

Clean looking rig. Those old Toyota's are one of a kind! Glad I still have my 88, in the process of giving it a major overhaul after 32 years. ✌️🏜️
That light plugs into the socket just to the left of the fuel release door knob inside of the truck just in case you haven’t figured it out. You’ll see it it has two vertical line and a round hole. Can’t miss it. At 4:38.

Yes not sure if all models got it. I think just the SR5 model.
I have a rust free 1985 4runner SR5 5 speed, what does that light lug/socket by the fuel door handle do?
It was for a hand held light attached to a long cord. It plugged into that socket for power. Think it was an over the counter accessory that you could purchase through Toyota parts department back in the day. Also it could have came with some models.

There is a socket for the light under the dash where the the obd plug would be if the truck had one.
FJ40's had a plug in the glove box. Not sure about the 4runner? I will have to look around on mine.

That's not the original paint, color yes, but look at the wheel wells and the frame, inside rear wheel opening you see over spray on all these areas.

I have an 86’ 4Runner and I was curious how big of a difference did the Bilsteins make? My truck still has the Factory shocks LOL Are the Bilsteins worth the Coin? Thanks In advance.

This was sold quite some time ago. Sold for $30,000 three years ago. No idea if it has changed hands since then or what it's worth today.

I also have a Turbo Runner, mine is an '87, been sitting in the garage about 15 years waiting... I am ashamed.
No need to be ashamed, restorations are tough! I've never done one myself. Cool trucks, though. Hope you're able to get yours to where you want it eventually.
