A suggestion for another blaster to consider, a spring thunder. It can hit the same fps ranges as a caliburn, but you can also switch the ammo type on the fly depending on the shells. Need to take out super zombies? a mega slug. Need to snipe a leader? elite slug. Just a mindless group of zombies all charging? Fire three rival rounds per shot. The low mag capacity is a factor, but it’s very fun and also thematic to pump your shotgun and yell at the zombies to get off your lawn.
bhizzle64 Springthunders are also great for the psychological effect he mentions; I know from experience, pointing that thing at a group is normally enough to make them reconsider
The disadvantage of a spring thunder is that you have greatly reduced capacity compared to the Caliburn, and, at the moment, you can't get parts kits to DIY build it. But it's still cool.

@@SpartanD63 If you have access to a good 3D printer, you can DIY it if you get the hardware kit and have some more time to spare.

Good explanation of the role. By the way, for most people (including myself) I think a non-magnified red dot sight is more than enough. Magnified scopes are overkill and actually slow you down.

I recommend the barricade for sidearm. It is easy to top up, is fairly easy to mod, and can take half or full darts stock.
An awesome thing about the spring thunder is the adaptable nature of the shells. I could definitely see myself swapping between medium/heavy infantry and sharpshooter, though I'll have to double check the fps stats

I will say as a Recon/Sniper I swear by the Worker Hurricane as a sidearm- quick, compact, low-cost- and will fire 6 shots as fast you can pull the trigger!
I was using my caliburn in a small local war 2 days ago and i really didnt want to shoot people up close with it, because i don't want to be hurting people. So i carried a hammershot and often t8mes found myself switching to it when rushing close

My first hvz (endwar 2017) i was trapped with a guy on a staircase who, honest to god) was in a full ghille suit with a pvc blowgun with a 3d printed cylinder for 6 darts. Dude was popping zombies at 100 feet easy, it was amazing to watch

I’m surprised you didn’t speak of BOOMco as the projectiles are so laughably superior and things like farshot reshells are so small that in theory anyone could fill the role. Uncommon ammo is a problem but if it’s down to you and your MK26 I’d take it. Also things like the breakflip could fill the role of sharpshooter and in a pinch medium infantry.

My Retalicon will be good for this once it's done. Just waiting for my spring to come in and I might build a scar eventually. It's already decent even though the barrel is way too long for a stock spring.

Finally, a style I"m excited to play! Infantry is cool and sock ninjas are awesome, but to me nothing is more satisfying than those long range pew pews. For PVP I use an XBZ with an RSCB and bike compressor, but for HVZ I've actually built a rearloading cycloneshock with a 9kg spring and worker barrel inserts that reliably hits between 115 and 120 FPS with worker half darts. I am really enjoying this video series, I love loadout videos and these all go way more in depth about all the various options and thought processes!

With the right rigging I probably be pretty good in this role. Haven't done much shooting with high velocity Nerf. But I'm reasonably good with other things.
Captain, did you leave out the Longstrike on purpose? is there a reason why that would not work for this position? I have a Modulus Longstrike and a OM Imortal Longstrike that can easily hang at 120fps with the right spring load. I also have a MTB Sledgefire that gives me several ammo types, the single barrel has a scar from Lazer Gnomes that seems to work well. My other project could be interesting too, a T3 defender with an absolver top and a brassed elite bottom. not sure of practicality but it has about the same fire rate as the Sledgefire and can share the scar. what do you think of these for the Sharpshooter role?
I don't have a fancy modded Longstrike.
The Longstrike also only very recently got a version with a direct plunger instead of the old (and crappy) reverse plunger setup they originally came with. I think Worker just recently released a pusher-breech kit that limits it to using only half lengths, but I'm not sure how well it actually works...plus we'd be back to the "ammo scarcity" problem with using half-length darts.
@@MishraArtificer I had always loved the Longstrike cosmetically and made two from the OM Immortal kits I got from Monkey Mods, I think you can still find them but they are as rare as Hen's teeth! with just the direct plunger kit I can hit up to approx 110-120fps If I brass it and work the seals I can do better so it seems viable. the Modulus Longstrike hits around 80-90fps stock. I'm sure that can be conventionally improved. I would not use the barrel attachment, to save space and barrel drag.

Also for the blowgun, you can run a mag as a grip and with practice get pretty good rate of fire
At the moment I think any mag fed dart zone short dart blasters will be great because it's really easy to get them to 130 with minimal mods, can take mega and rival with the included shroud (and can use mega xl with a worker scar stuck on the front) and can be acquired with a trip to your local Walmart or target.

Great video. I really appreciated the recognition of other nerfers. Particularly enjoyed Bradley Phillips getting a mention as he comes from my part of the world. Also since I have watched their videos I found it a fast and effective way to make a point.

I've only ever done PvP, so I can't say what the ultimate life-form, the Dart Zone Titanium would do in HvZ. Yes, it may seem like an insignificant blaster but, the precision I've been able to achieve with that thing is uncanny. Perfect for that sharpshooter role in my eyes.
The only time I saw Mini-Cap was in the intro at 0:15 seconds into the video and 0:24 to 2:33 just before the SlingFire jump cut after the Sentinel highlight. Correct me if I'm wrong. Keep 'em rollin' in Cap.

So, I last shot a perfect score out to 300 meters, with a 25 year old M16 that was so worn out it had more rattles than a maraca. Does that qualify me as an Hvz sharpshooter?

I had a question, but it took until the Sharpshooter loadout for it to fully form in my head; what's your recommended Ammo (Accufake, Wafflehead, Dart Zone/Adventure Force)? Also, does the Megaburn take Mega Accustrike/Accufake ammo, or are the heads too thick for the barrel?
I recommend accufakes or adventure force waffles. What I really recommend is building a blaster that can fire anything. My Megaburn can, yes.
My spamf topped out at 230 (with a stock spring) before the 3D printing cracked. 😭 But the ranges are magnificent still even with the crack.
I wonder if there any youtuber who would something similar to this but for specials.
Idk the typical rules that most places have so... would I be able to make an actual rocket launcher where the rocket has an engine and which explodes into rival balls? Like would I be allowed to use something like that?
Most hvz wont allow the grenades or claymore so I'm not sure that would be allowed but if you ask the hvz your going to they should be able to answer you better

For the omega sharpshooter, a nexus pro would be useful (smaller spring of course) . As you can simply front load a mega.
If you can get it down under 120-130 fps, absolutely. Which should not be an issue. There will be weaker springs for them in no time.
I think it would be hilarious to see someone who was just an unbelievably fast runner hit one of those zombies that had to target the last person to shoot them and then just light off the second the zombie counted down. I would just love to see the zombie's face when he realized he was going to be useless because he was going to half to spend the rest of the mission chasing this one guy.
What gun good is for sharp shooting
Been thinking about attaching a Magnus masterkey on my Longstrike. Have the option of a heavier ammo. Much like the old M1 Garand can fire rifle grenades.
Probably set the masterkey on an old Retaliator barrel so I could move it to different blasters and preserve the Longstrike barrel.

I feel like the dart zone pro would be amazing, because you could use half darts, but when needed you can switch to normal darts fairly quickly, that plus its exelant performance.

I think Captain Slug sells 488 spring. If not check OutofDarts or Foamblast. I have heard of scars for mega but I don't know that I have seen one.

No, because most HvZ's do not (and should not) allow melee. I cover it briefly under Sock Ninja because melee only kinda falls under that. That or Feral Squads.
@@CaptainXavier could you elaborate on why melee isn't/shouldn't be allowed? While I can see similar problems to the one you brought up with the Blowgun of power inconsistency between individuals, if there's any other reason, I'd like to know why Melee is banned, mostly out of curiosity, as when things are banned, I honestly find it interesting to know why they're banned.
@@DeisFortuna yeah, safety. People without proper training tend to get way over excited and hit way too hard and even with a foam sword that can become a danger. Especially when combined with people charging you and if the safety standards of the weapons are poorly written or enforced. Also, eye pro designed to protect from projectiles are often a danger to the wearer if struck with a melee weapon.
From a non-safety perspective, if used by someone who IS trained they are stupidly over powered. One member of the Auxiliary held off the entire horde for 30mins at an event last year with two swords and a broken foot.

Not really? To random for my taste. Also hard to get past the safety mods. Shotguns can be great and I will cover them under Hunters.
Would you do a video on cowboy loadouts and where they may prove useful in hvz? I know there's at least a handful of people who run that kind of loadout as their first choice.
What do you define as a "cowboy" loadout? Because I'll bet I have already covered them just not by that name.
@@CaptainXavier hammershots, sledgefires, buzzbee double barrels, Mavericks, strong arms, things of that nature. Personally my loadout consists of two hammershots, a sawn off buzzbee Hunter, and a buzzbee side by side double barrel with sawn off barrels. I had a lever action but it jammed up on the magazine somehow and I had to disassemble it to unjam it so it's in peices.
