If I recall correctly, they actually ran into a language barrier, because Wang didn’t speak Japanese, and nobody on the island spoke mandarin. However, they could both read the characters (they were largely similar at this point), so they ended up writing out what they wanted to say, and then Wang would translate into Portuguese (anyone who knows the history better feel free to correct me).

Koby fought with Blackbeard in Hachinosu against the successor of Rocks. That means Koby is Garp's Blackbeard, the next PK. That probably also means that Yamato is Oden's Blackbeard and the tenth titanic captain all along. I'm just stating the fax here >->
Law being the mastermind of the rocky port incident is probably how he became a warlord. Law had a large bounty before the timeskip so it would make sense that he devised a plan to gain the favor of the world goverment. This plan resulted in Law turning in 100 pirate hearts to the marines. So if we go with a simple scenario then i think Law stole the food supplies of Hachinosu. This would result in Wang Zhi having to send a raid to a nearby island. And as smart as Law is he probably predicted which island and tipped the marines who send Koby. Koby valiantly protects the civilians, the raid fails, Law can take the hearts of the fleeing pirates and as a side effect Blackbeard could swoop in to take over Hachinosu since its forces are reduced.
One problem, if by “Law stole food supplies of Hachinosu” you mean that he traveled that far into the new world during the time skip. How? Without his log pose pointing him there from a previous island? And I doubt he has an eternal pose to there.

Big plus for Law is that he and his crew can go unnoticed because of the Polar Tang. And we know for a fact that Law went back since we meet him before his crew.

It's not like pirates pillage everyone under the sun, and these civvies may well see being allies with them as a positive. Whatever the Rocky Port incident was, it may well have caused Ochoku to decide to turn the civilians into hostages, and we know Coby would certainly choose to save them
The rocky port incident probably went like this: Wang zhi ruled over the island as a retired pirate, had civilians living there and was in a similar situation to Raleigh, where the marines diddnt see him as a threat to civilians so diddnt want to bring him I'm because of the collateral damage, now blackbeard wanted fullalead for himself so he went over to claim it and kick Wang out, but law got wind of it and reported it to the marines in an attempt to have blackbeard taken out. Coby probably arrived on the island around the same time with a superior officer who gave the order to bring Wang in along the way, and indirectly helped blackbeard, who then pushed the marines back off the island

I really love this world building aspect. There was a time before Roger and now we're in a time after. I hope Oda does the same with Luffy. Not to set up the story of Buffy or anything, but make the world go on for the next generation of pirates.

Today is the precursor for the Wang Zhi day, where we get to talk about Wang Zhi when he shows up, Wang Zhi might be the man marked by the flames, he might be Vegapunk and he might be Imu-sama. That is all inside the spectrum of what Wang Zhi can be, because Wang Zhi is a really big historical figure, and he will be a big historical figure in the One Piece world.
I don't understand how people always latch onto one or two facts and manage to conveniently forget about others just to fit what THEY want in the story. 😮💨 Sorry to burst your bubble but there's absolutely no way in hell that Wang Zhi can be Vegapunk and ESPECIALLY not Imu. 🙄 Saying that just because Wang was a historical figure makes it likely is completely ignoring other facts and context explicitly given by Oda in the manga. For example, Blackbeard literally just stated that he had to beat ("oust") Wang in order to take over Pirate Island, that HEAVILY implies that Wang was the previous boss of that pirate paradise in the years after Rocks disbanded. That should immediately make it obvious that he can't be either Vegapunk nor Imu, but there are plenty of other examples too. The fact that Imu is being set up / foreshadowed to be one of the final antagonists in the story, and that he has been in his position at the top of the world for what seems to be a very long time, (him going to the basement to look at the giant straw hat), there's yet ANOTHER huuuuge reason why Wang and Imu can't be the same person. Vegapunk has similar reasons, he's been in his position working for the WG for decades, possibly 30 to 50+ years, and more importantly he's a highly intelligent scientist, that's simply NOT the same type of character as someone who was on Rock's crew and ruled over Pirate Island for a long time. Sorry to be so negative, it's nothing personal, i just get so upset when people say things like that because they clearly are not thinking about ALL of the context and facts surrounding that character, in this case it seems like you just latched onto the historical importance aspect and ran with it. We didn't really see what happened to the other one so this is possible however they may find some degree of difficulty with that. I think Koby had to repeat his orders to try and get the one that looked like Boa Hancock to stop so either they don't consider him high up on their command structure (whatever that is) or they are harder to control than the previous versions.

The last chapter got me really curious about Silver Axe. After all he’s the only member of the Rocks Pirates who is still unaccounted for. I’m not anticipating him playing any major roles, but maybe a name drop like they did with Wang to kinda explain his fate or maybe he will show up in a flashback. Whatever the case, I don’t think Oda will leave Silver Axe as a blank slate for much longer (in One Piece time).
That is something I am interested in too. It seems that the Rocks Pirates are playing a role in events even if only by being mentioned or used to move the characters or the plot forward. I hope to know what he has gotten up to soon.

Here's a Monkey fact. The Main character of One Piece, Luffy's family name is Monkey. Luffy = Red-Tailed Monkey. Nika = Sun-Tailed Monkey. Garp = Red-handed Tamarin or Red-handed Howler. I can't think of 1 for Dragon though. If Nami was a Monkey she'd be a Golden lion tamarin. If Shanks was a Monkey he'd be a Red-Shanked Douc.

If wang had the “transform into other people fruit” it would make a lot of sense to have civilians on the island so you can disguise yourself as one… so coby had maybe observation Haki to find him because Blackbeard just killed everyone. So coby as a relatively weak character could by snitching Wang, save civilians. Also the moment Tekking sad 3 times I knew it would be at least 4 😂
Blackbeard is somewhat responsible of the downfall of 2 off the old generation pirates: Whitebeard and Ochoku. He could've killed Rayleigh had he fought him. Could it be that one of BB's role is to kill off all the old characters? Maybe Garp and Sengoku think they have to rescue Coby which may lead to their downfall as well?

While I'm nervous about Koby being the clutches of Blackbeard and his crew, I would find it funny and maybe even likely that Oda will make Koby's imprisonment ALOT like his time on Alvida's ship. I mean Koby is strong, but considering how powerful Blackbeard and his crew is, Koby may be on the level of chore boy comparatively. So Koby's hostage situation and imprisonment could maybe be like him cleaning the floorboards after the crews drunken excursions
You know the Drunken Ore metal we still really don't know were it's been made and Kaido actually didn't use any of it in Wano so odds are someone else in the New World is behind producing Drunken Ore Metal. If Big Mom and Kaido went off to become emperors there is a chance other remaining Rox members became Equally as big figures in the underworld also would explain why not all Brokers were invited to the Tea Party. Because the ones working with or for former Rox pirate's would know the mixed History and wouldn't be invited for this reason. Too add to this we still haven't really seen something similar to a secret society in the One piece world but I believe Trebol was a member of something like this that has members out there who are trying to Spark the next generation and control them. I believe if there is a Pirates equalivent to the Elder Stars this Secret society would have the former Members or Rox that didn't become Emperors but were Brokers and working together for a common purpose.
I don’t think it can be the same place bc the government only help those that pay the heavenly tribute and I can all but promise that they wouldn’t have sent coby there to rescue civilians- even if there were citizens on the pirate island the government wouldn’t help them so that whole situation couldn’t exist in the first place. I believe that Zhi will be a future threat to Momo and Yamato and even when dead because he will return in the form of a Seraphim because his historical counterpart was a warlord I believe that Zhi was one of the first warlords.
This video made me think of a theory, but I’m not sure if anyone mentioned it before. What if Wang Zhi is the “Man with the burn scar”? It would make sense since Law had a serious look on his face when Kidd mentioned him. Ochoku might have some information about the One Piece or a road poneglyph while he was with the Rocks pirates. So it would make sense for Kidd’s interest in him and it would be a cool way to introduce more members of the Rocks Pirates

In other words, nah, it's not automatically a given that I have no humor, it's more like people in the One Piece community both on Reddit AND here on TH-cam have the awful habit of picking one clue, implication or theory about a character and making absolutely worthless theories with them because their smooth brains manage to ignore (more like filter out) all the OTHER important facts or context which would shatter their precious prediction to pieces.
Back when "The Man Marked By Flames" was first mentioned, people were acting proud of themselves for thinking it just HAD to be Sabo, like they were 5 year olds grinning after shoving the cylinder block in the square hole, because they ignored the very important context that the "Man Marked By Flames" has to be someone who has knowledge of the poneglyphs and could help Kidd find one.
So excuse me for seeing "Wang Zhi could be Imu" and having an immediate eye roll and attempt to correct them.

We didn't really see what happened to the other one so this is possible however they may find some degree of difficulty with that. I think Koby had to repeat his orders to try and get the one that looked like Boa Hancock to stop so either they don't consider him high up on their command structure (whatever that is) or they are harder to control than the previous versions.
Since we are getting Rocks focus here, do you think this is the perfect opportunity to get Shiki introduced in the canon for real? I mean there's Chapter 0 sure but we have yet to see him in the present time
Shiki could be introduced, but he would never be allowed to interact with the straw hat crew

The last chapter got me really curious about Silver Axe. After all he’s the only member of the Rocks Pirates who is still unaccounted for. I’m not anticipating him playing any major roles, but maybe a name drop like they did with Wang to kinda explain his fate or maybe he will show up in a flashback. Whatever the case, I don’t think Oda will leave Silver Axe as a blank slate for much longer (in One Piece time).
That is something I am interested in too. It seems that the Rocks Pirates are playing a role in events even if only by being mentioned or used to move the characters or the plot forward. I hope to know what he has gotten up to soon.

If wang had the “transform into other people fruit” it would make a lot of sense to have civilians on the island so you can disguise yourself as one… so coby had maybe observation Haki to find him because Blackbeard just killed everyone. So coby as a relatively weak character could by snitching Wang, save civilians.

Blackbeard is somewhat responsible of the downfall of 2 off the old generation pirates: Whitebeard and Ochoku. He could've killed Rayleigh had he fought him. Could it be that one of BB's role is to kill off all the old characters? Maybe Garp and Sengoku think they have to rescue Coby which may lead to their downfall as well?
That may be part of his role in the story, but I doubt he will only try to stick to that.

You know the Drunken Ore metal we still really don't know were it's been made and Kaido actually didn't use any of it in Wano so odds are someone else in the New World is behind producing Drunken Ore Metal. If Big Mom and Kaido went off to become emperors there is a chance other remaining Rox members became Equally as big figures in the underworld also would explain why not all Brokers were invited to the Tea Party. Because the ones working with or for former Rox pirate's would know the mixed History and wouldn't be invited for this reason. Too add to this we still haven't really seen something similar to a secret society in the One piece world but I believe Trebol was a member of something like this that has members out there who are trying to Spark the next generation and control them. I believe if there is a Pirates equalivent to the Elder Stars this Secret society would have the former Members or Rox that didn't become Emperors but were Brokers and working together for a common purpose.

I don’t think it can be the same place bc the government only help those that pay the heavenly tribute and I can all but promise that they wouldn’t have sent coby there to rescue civilians- even if there were citizens on the pirate island the government wouldn’t help them so that whole situation couldn’t exist in the first place. This video made me think of a theory, but I’m not sure if anyone mentioned it before. What if Wang Zhi is the “Man with the burn scar”? It would make sense since Law had a serious look on his face when Kidd mentioned him. Ochoku might have some information about the One Piece or a road poneglyph while he was with the Rocks pirates. So it would make sense for Kidd’s interest in him and it would be a cool way to introduce more members of the Rocks Pirates
