Am I wrong in hoping this is a failed clone. Not like horribly disfigured but "Betapunk" being like an inch shorter or with different colored hair and going through an existential crisis.
What I'm imagining is that the clone in the tank is kinda like a caterpillar in a cocoon: a gooey soup of genetic material that can reform when needed. Also: I've been thinking about the remaining four satellites: They united into a single being, but this time, *without* Greed and Violence. I feel like Oda seeded that into the story as yet another way to explore what a personality is.
Theoretically, S-Bear could paw out all of Bonney's memories since she did absorb Kuma's memories. So both Kuma and Bonney would both have each others full memories
Lilith maybe refrained to mention the clone until she was sure she could restore it, and after confirming the environment on Elbaph was the same as on Egghead she felt more confident to reveal the cards she was holding... Also, I can't remember what chapter but I'm pretty sure I recall either Jinbei or Franky mentioning to one of the Vegapunks that they were done loading crates at one point in Egghead, so I bet the clone was foreshadowed there
I am SO convinced that the clone will have some weird technology thing that lets it expand/inflate its head to the size of Vegapunks (from 20 years ago) without actually needing to be that large. Both as a gag because itd be funny to watch him do it. And also because i kinda thing the clone doesnt have his fruit power and had a different want to copy all of the books info
I've always had a issue with Oda not keeping characters dead. The Kinemon situation is the perfect example. Already on the brink of death & then had his head bashed with advanced conquerors.
The fact that Kinemon survived because “Kaido stabbed me where Law seperated me and i wasn’t put together properly” while Ashura Doji and Izo died is still one of the lowest points of the story for me
Another time a character should have died was Garp. Throughout the story, Garp's philosophy has always been "The potential of the new generation is the future." Then when the time came, Garp sacrificed himself to save Koby. Which was a reference to his story about leaving the old man behind and saving yourself and the baby. Edit: It also seems like Oda is just killing off side characters but bullshitting plot armour for main characters. I can understand Vegapunk though, he still needs to explain devil fruits.
Garp can work if he's on deaths door and fully dies.@@earthisadonut7213 Vegapunk would be fine imo if there weren't 30 pounds, Pell's, and kinemons in the story.
I paused the video at 11:49 to type this up before I forget to, but I was under the impression that Vegapunk made a clone of himself to keep things running where ever he was stationed at the time while he himself visited O'Hara to log all the info so the W.G wouldn't find anything "amiss" or maybe my reading comprehension is off lol
With regards to Durians, which was mentioned during the Jack Tree tree facts for anyone reading this before watching, I’ve learned recently that it doesn’t smell as bad as people think. . . . When fresh. It rots *really* soon after ripening, so unless you’re there in a nation where they’re grown most people who think they have a ripe durian fruit actually have an overripe or straight up rotten fruit.
Lessening the impact of his death or not, it makes much more senses Vegapunk having a clone than the smartest character in the world dying with successful cloning technology.
I've mentioned this in comments in the past. Kuma can be repaired, as far as his mind goes Oda setup the fix already. Bonny has his memories and can order him to push the memories out of her and absorb them into himself. I don't understand why this is hard, no one else seems to notice this.
13:05 tekking i feel like everyone is thinking he’s standing up in the box so he can’t fit but it could just be that he’s sitting with his knees scrunched up to his chest and that’s why the box is that size because it fits him sitting down
seeing as how this manga covers periods of time like a few months in the course of several real-world decades, it is possible that Lillith is not even able to get a proper lab built by the time the story ends. I don't know if I think Oda's gonna do it that way though.
Jackfruit is nice, tastes like pineapple a bit. Big seed inside every pouch. Parts of any cut piece are mild, then there are small pockets of extra sweet stuff.
The first Stella we met was a drone, Vegapunk lobotomized himself after Ohara, he added decades to his natural life by placing himself in stasis (maybe the original Stella drone had a larger antenna or he said he had given himself a haircut before he actually did) that's the only way for there to only be one brain
So i can understand why people wouldnt be happy about Kuma coming, but for me i always kinda thought it was gonna happen. Like one theory i had around the midpoint of egghead was that S-Bear was gonna be used as Kumas new body and Kumas memories was just going to be pushed into it by Vegapunk giving it an order or activating something he put in S-Bear specifically because i thought that was the whole point of the memories being pushed out his body, and one of the reasons he Vegapunk didnt want Bonney to touch it. Also i remember there being quite a bit of panels focused on S-Bear which kinda felt like they were leading to something with S-Bear although nothing happened.
16:26- At this point, Saturn is probably rolling in his grave that only did Vegapunk have a backup clone but Kuma is going to be revived. His only hopes is that if his questionable claims of being a scientist is plausible likely is going to have a backup clone of himself but it doesn't seem likely
Are we sure we know when he went to Elbaf??? I feel like we're assuming he went there immediately after Ohara, but he could've went there much later too, right??? Like, he could've went to Ohara soon after it happened but waited a decade before going to Elbaf to actually read the books, right???
I only wonder if the vegapunk clone will look old like the current vp was, or if he'll look younger like he did in the ohara flashback because im assuming they probably put the clone on ice or something to preserve it when it wasn't needed.
The bare minimum for Kuma is, to getting his stored personality and memories back and life the rest of his life with his daughter in peace. It doesn’t matter if with his original body, or the seraphim body, but that what he truly deserves
While this and the notion of possibly recovering Kuma are controversial, it IS worth noting that there’s the potential of it going wrong for Lilith or at least causing conflict down the line. People are already treating it like their sacrifices have been cheapened. 🤷♂️
@ True. My main point is that people are talking about fake out deaths cheapening the impact but a good remedy is having the efforts to recover these characters have unforeseen consequences, almost like an equivalent exchange.
Normally I always think people that do charities just pocket the money, but I can tell what kind of person you are and I know you wouldn't. Thanks for what you do.
@@frankehfightaz that's not true. I feel like tekking jumped onto the unofficial releases within the last year or so. Before that he was always on the official timeline
On the memory bubble part, the paw paw fruit is still available and usable in S-bear. He's sentient enough to be able to follow an order like "remove all the memories of Bartholamew Kuma".
I'd say it's important to mention that clones in OP are their own individuals - even a perfect copy isn't just going to continue on from where their dead predecessor left off (see the difference between the Stucies, and Vegapunk's declaration that the Stucy clone is "her own person"). So the 'perfect copy' still isn't the now-dead Stella-Vegapunk. It is essentially just a 'younger' twin, and mentioning him earlier wouldn't have added to Lilith's earlier point of "don't worry Luffy, you technically did save Vegapunk!". As for Kuma, Oda does make a point of making dreams reality, and what better dream to fulfill than that of reviving a long-suffering father and reuniting him with his long-suffering daughter in a better, safer world. (I admit I'd rather see Kuma stay dead, or rather be put down by Bonnie so she can finally move on, but I wouldn't mind seeing a compromise of Kuma being revived with a more extreme Might Guy treatment of losing his powers & losing the ability to walk in exchange for getting back his ability to think & speak, allowing him at least a few proper years of adventuring with his daughter).
One really important thing to consider is that it’s heavily implied that devil fruits are a form of technology if that is true then the fact that there are 2 devil fruits that can directly affect souls (big mom and Brook) that means that interaction with the soul through science is indeed possible for all things kuma
16:26 To be fair, she did say "Everyone is alive" in 1124, which at the time I assume most people took it to just meant the satellites, but she was probably including Stella in that as well.
Jay is the concept of "overreacting" made flesh, so let's NOT follow in his footsteps. This clone is a different character stuck 20 years in the past, so Vegapunk's death is not lightened.
Actually misrepresenting what Jay said. This is the type of shit I hate on the Internet. Just confidently spouting lies. Jay had a problem with Kuma and Oda's milking things for emotional effects and backtracking. You have no idea what people were even mad about
Who knows. maybe the knowledge of Vegapunk (from Elbaph 20 years ago) had it's brain lopped off, then then put in cryostasis. In the meantime Vegapunk could make a copy to his own brain (on egghead), and that second brain is in punk record as well somewhere (maybe also somewhere in a box in cryostasis) to use as a back up, if the first one would had gotten destroyed by the Gorosei during the battle on Egghead. Who knows Vegapunk just had to press a button and the second brain would rise up from the floor, hook that brain on the internet cable and you'd hear a voice *"Back up brain, online."* But it does look like a thing that's added last minute .
I used to eat jackfruits a lot as a kid, it tastes awesome. In india there is a dish which uses the seeds of the jackfruit as well. You cook it in a pressure cooker and add some spices to make a nice side dish.
I truly honestly believed when we found out that kuma had all of his memories pushed out, that we were actually going to push them into the new clone CP zero said was not working properly. I thought it was such a huge obvious ploy, with his original body being ruined, being able to get a brand new body that is so much stronger to allow him to return to the revolutionary army with his daughter.
If I was to guess I would say that the clone held onto the knowledge of Ohara until Kuma was asked to push all his memories out so the Stella could instantly absorb all the knowledge. Also I feel that Lilith saying she is going to revive Vegapunk and Kuma is Oda's way of writing all involved characters out of the story post Elbaph arc as I doubt she can build a lab with sufficient technological requirements until the epilogue of the story.
For the thing for the york knowing if the clone of vegapunk was a thing could easily be described by just saying if the stella and all the other satellites were killed, no one like lillith is now would be able to actually do everything they need to "revive" stella, bc lillith said there is things that she needs to do for him to come back.
If you can get kuma to use his fruit to extract all kuma memories from bonnies. You could restore kuma at the cost of his relationship with his daughter
28:39 I use to have it the backyard, if you hàve THE FIRST FRUIT you have to decided if you want to eat it as fruit or you want to cook it as a vegetable Cause Once you cooked it as vegetable, you can't eatvit as a fruit anymore TMI : I Never eat it as fruit, but as vegetable(soup) it's one of My Favourite Food
The meat that encases the fruit part inside jackfruit is cooked in various ways, one of it in like a curry-like veggie soup in indonesia. I often eat it bcs it's that kind of daily food that's sold everywhere. Just TMI
26:36 add jackfruit is so good. It’s like a fruit punch the flavor with the kid on the front and the pool toy came to life and existed in a fruit. It’s so amazing. I implore you to try a fresh one. It’s pretty pricey, but get a good one look up the signs for ripeness and have a open mind and eata lot of it and you’ll see what I mean.
Thoughts. 1. It's possible that York left the "Ohara on Elbaf" clone alone because the full details of the containment setup made it hard for anyone other than a Vegapunk to access. 2. My guess for why Lillith wouldn't talk about the clone aboard the Great Eric is that she wanted to wait for both reaching the safety of Elbaf and a chance to look for and remove anything and anyone who might eavesdrop and relay the secret to the World Government. 3. Narrative debate about the tragedy of Kuma aside, I can think of no in universe reason why Lillith, Bonney, and their allies wouldn't try to restore Kuma as much as possible. Or at least study him to get a better idea about how recent events and research at Egghead affected him and the chances of saving him.

I had a jackfruit tree in my backyard when I was a kid and god damn I loved that fruit! loved to collect the seeds as well since they were so big. The "glue" is indeed annoying as fuck, I remember that being the only thing that bothered me when eating it as I didn't have gloves to use nor would waste oil since we were very poor. In University there was a guy that sold homemade a deep fried food we call "coxinha" in Brazil and instead of using chicken meat, he used jackfruit "meat" and bro, it tasted AND the texture was the same as chicken, it was genuinely unbelievable the first time I ate it. This fruit is magical I miss being able to eat it so frequently.
Funnily enough, I was watching this video while eating jackfruit (it also being only a once-twice yearly treat since it’s soooo expensive in the west). It’s my favourite fruit ever, it tastes amazing! It’s sweet and juicy and the texture a bit… silky? You should definitely get some when you can and report on how you liked it.
I just assumed that the 8th Vegapunk synched his brain with the Punk Records and doesn't actually have a fruit power of his own. For Kuma, I see them making a Kuma clone, then Bonney orders Kuma to use the Paw Paw fruit to push his own personality, memories, and "soul" into the clone. Then his original body can die and the paw fruit can return to circulation.
13:23 not necessarily; the second brain might act as a "backup server" of the main one, inside of Punk Records; Not necessarily need to be somewhere else
With Kuma, I think he will be a person again, but maybe he will be a blank slate with no memories. And I think it'll be in the background, so we won't see them so much. It doesn't really bother me. Also, Kuma and Bonney have endured so much pain that knowing they nebulously got a happy ending is enough for me.
In the original Digimon, we thought that was it after the final boss in the first part. Then we discovered there were 4 more, including Puppetmon! On par, even if not as strong, as the original baddy!
I mean it's safe to assume that punk records is pretty old. Considering it has the punk name, it was definitely started before Punk Hazard was destroyed. So it could be 20+ years old. And Stella 2 could have undergone the operation when Stella 1 did. Then put back into stasis. Also nothing says that the clone wasn't kept on elbaf. Stella 2 could have been stored for some time safely at elbaf.
I expected Vegapunk & Kuma to return to normal, all the cloning info we got on Egghead made me sure that Stella would return. But I did expect Kumas consciousness to be put in S-Bear, but I always felt he would return to "normal ". Side note I think Shanks and his "Twin" might be clones of Garling.
Jackfruit is REALLY DELICIOUS and smells amazing, its smell and taste are amazing mix of mango, banana, bubblegum and other more fruits (to me those primarily) You can eat just about everything of the fruit, the pulp that are like petals, the very elastic fibers, the seeds too if cooked, not raw, and its all good
By all right putting Kuma back to normal seems broadcast to be pretty likely. Bonney's either got his memories in her head, or they are now wandering the ether in search of Kuma in order to return to him. Multiple Vegapunks exist. The only hard part is if his soul is still in his body or not. As that could complicate Kuma's restoration. *AND* You'll then get the mind-soul philosphy questions... plus maybe a bit of the Ship of Theseus. Example 1: You die and are sitting in the afterlife. But someone comes along and revives your corpse. From the perspective of the living, you came back to life perfectly fine. But the original you is still in the afterlife. Example 2: More inline with Theseus. Someone made a copy of your memories and had perfected body cloning. You die suddenly from some accident. And then someone puts a copy of your memories into your body, Second You. Some time later, the Second You gets into a worse accident and gets their mind uploaded into a clone body. Some time later, Second You dies and someone makes a clone body and uploads Your/Second You's memories into the new body. Creating Third You.
As for the Vegapunk clone I don’t think that it also had a big brain 🧠 instead inside of the large head was maybe a prototype version of his apple antenna that allowed him to control it at a distance while his original body is being watched by the World Government, but this lead to him making Punk Records & the Satellites

The fact that Kinemon survived because “Kaido stabbed me where Law seperated me and i wasn’t put together properly” while Ashura Doji and Izo died is still one of the lowest points of the story for me
Same, a lot of these deaths and sacrifices seemed pointless at this point. Very, very odd.
Garp can work if he's on deaths door and fully dies.@@earthisadonut7213
Vegapunk would be fine imo if there weren't 30 pounds, Pell's, and kinemons in the story.
You all realize that it's a young adult Manga right? It's not a sainin. Calm down
I paused the video at 11:49 to type this up before I forget to, but I was under the impression that Vegapunk made a clone of himself to keep things running where ever he was stationed at the time while he himself visited O'Hara to log all the info so the W.G wouldn't find anything "amiss" or maybe my reading comprehension is off lol
Congratulations on the 30k! I’m so happy that the goal was reached 😻
I've mentioned this in comments in the past. Kuma can be repaired, as far as his mind goes Oda setup the fix already. Bonny has his memories and can order him to push the memories out of her and absorb them into himself. I don't understand why this is hard, no one else seems to notice this.
22:18
The first Stella we met was a drone, Vegapunk lobotomized himself after Ohara, he added decades to his natural life by placing himself in stasis
(maybe the original Stella drone had a larger antenna or he said he had given himself a haircut before he actually did)
that's the only way for there to only be one brain
I would like for Bonney to realize that if she got Kuma back that he won’t be the real Kuma and lay him to rest.
Vegapunk probably cut the top of the clones head off first as practice. He waited to make sure that it worked well before trying on himself.
I think he will fight by Dragons side first because he did tell Dragon he thats what he wanted to do before he became a government weapon.
While this and the notion of possibly recovering Kuma are controversial, it IS worth noting that there’s the potential of it going wrong for Lilith or at least causing conflict down the line. People are already treating it like their sacrifices have been cheapened. 🤷♂️
I dont see Oda giving false hope to Bonnie just to crush it again, and if he wanted Kuma's death to be permanent he would made him explode in Egghead
Congratulations on the 30k thank you for hosting
Pudding can use her memo memo no mi to take his memories from Bonney and give them back to Kuma essentially restoring him.
Chapter just dropped, can't wait for the review
Where at?
It will be officially release next year so Tekking's review will also need to wait until the year ends
@@CT_20243 he's almost never waited for officials before though
@@frankehfightaz that's not true. I feel like tekking jumped onto the unofficial releases within the last year or so. Before that he was always on the official timeline
thanks for the heads up
On the memory bubble part, the paw paw fruit is still available and usable in S-bear. He's sentient enough to be able to follow an order like "remove all the memories of Bartholamew Kuma".
Imagine if the case Vice-Admiral Smoker is carrying is a secondary Punk Records
Vegapunk might be running a huge raid 1 server. definitely smart to have redundant backups
I hope the copy is like frosty and when he wakes up he says "happy brithday"
Jackfruits are a pain to cut open, but they're so worth it. Especially when you get a really fresh one
What if Punk Records IS both brains linked together and merged to make a Super Brain, maybe that is what makes the satellites possible at all.
I have a theory punk records will go into orbit and become another moon with all the world's connected information and knowledge
Of course the arm blocks my favorite shirt ill never have!!! Why nust you tempt me!
New chapter is out, just read it, 1135 is out
Lilith was speaking about Luffy not needing to worry but was distracted by other voices and information that got her distracted didn't she?
I feel like you massively underestimate how much memories are who we are. people who lose their memories can become completely different people
Do you think Akainu deserve to have arms ?
Jay is the concept of "overreacting" made flesh, so let's NOT follow in his footsteps.
This clone is a different character stuck 20 years in the past, so Vegapunk's death is not lightened.
but that past body can synch with lilith or something? i really dont like how death is light in one piece
Who knows Vegapunk just had to press a button and the second brain would rise up from the floor, hook that brain on the internet cable and you'd hear a voice *"Back up brain, online."*
But it does look like a thing that's added last minute .
I used to eat jackfruits a lot as a kid, it tastes awesome. In india there is a dish which uses the seeds of the jackfruit as well. You cook it in a pressure cooker and add some spices to make a nice side dish.
"This is getting out of hand.... now there are 2 of them."
Love learning about these trees 😀
you're my favorite one piece youtuber man keep doing what u do
I truly honestly believed when we found out that kuma had all of his memories pushed out, that we were actually going to push them into the new clone CP zero said was not working properly.
Makes more sense that it's just one head. Cut it off and attach it to the clone, then turn it into punk records when he gets back
28:39 I use to have it the backyard, if you hàve THE FIRST FRUIT you have to decided if you want to eat it as fruit or you want to cook it as a vegetable
Cause Once you cooked it as vegetable, you can't eatvit as a fruit anymore
TMI : I Never eat it as fruit, but as vegetable(soup) it's one of My Favourite Food
Excellent escape
Lil was about to get more than I thought
You have to do the Osage Orange for O of tree facts
Come to Brazil to try the brazilian jackfruit!
🇧🇷
Kuma becomes a teddy bear piloting the PC0
The meat that encases the fruit part inside jackfruit is cooked in various ways, one of it in like a curry-like veggie soup in indonesia. I often eat it bcs it's that kind of daily food that's sold everywhere. Just TMI
Vegapunk has literally found how to cheat death. Yet devil fruits are still a mystery to him. Makes me wonder about devil fruits even more.
Merry Christmas trekking your a good man all this TH-cam pirate stuff aside
i know a certain skelly who PROVES that kuma doesn't need his brain to come back to normal, yohohoho
15:46
Maybe because she’s evil?
I wonder if tekking heard 1135 dropped already.
"Come on, kids! Let's go save Vegapunk... 2!!"
Telling the save the trees with fruit for a future fruit facts series lol
I TOLD YOU TEKKING YOU WERE GONNA RAISE 30K!!! MY 15 IN 2 HOURS REALLY DID GOOD JINX
Thoughts.
Hey Tekking stated the stream off by donating 1,000. So shout out to Tekking!Thank you thank you ThANK YOU TO EEVERYONE that donated. I've always donated something. even if Ive got 5 bucks. It helps. So thank you thank you thank you, and was probably Berry's money, but atill...
Damn, when i saw the notification, I thought this was a review for today's chapter. Great vid nevertheless.
A Vegapunk clone going to Elbaf and Ohara explains the personality difference.
York didn't plan on any of the vegapunks escaping so there would be no one to reactivate the clone.
Highly recommend trying jackfruit. Absolutely wonderful
13:23 not necessarily; the second brain might act as a "backup server" of the main one, inside of Punk Records;
Not necessarily need to be somewhere else
4:21 its a biovat pod that she states
I expected Vegapunk & Kuma to return to normal, all the cloning info we got on Egghead made me sure that Stella would return. But I did expect Kumas consciousness to be put in S-Bear, but I always felt he would return to "normal ". Side note I think Shanks and his "Twin" might be clones of Garling.
Jackfruit is REALLY DELICIOUS and smells amazing, its smell and taste are amazing mix of mango, banana, bubblegum and other more fruits (to me those primarily)
You can eat just about everything of the fruit, the pulp that are like petals, the very elastic fibers, the seeds too if cooked, not raw, and its all good
By all right putting Kuma back to normal seems broadcast to be pretty likely.
