It's funny, more and more owners (including me) actually dig the cladding. Paint matching now looks like an online date that shows up with shaved eyebrows. In fact, being completely unaware of the seismic snark and gripes that have existed since the original Adam about WRXs, when I first saw the VB my first thought, "Oh cool and off-road-ish looking car!" I was, of course, driving Tacomas at the time.
The side cladding is okay since it makes the car look different to anything else, and well it's better off-road than on-road so makes sense but for me it's really just the rear bumper, it's way too plastic, you look at the car from behind and like 40% of your view is black plastic. They did a good job with the WRX Sportswagon which has no plastics and the rear bumper isn't hideous, plus that car came out before the WRX as the Levorg in Japan so I'm not sure what happened.

Does it have auto rev match?
Im still kinda salty that other parts of the world are getting this wrx as a wagon but not the US
RS gives bad vibes in the US. It reminds us of the 2.5 RS that looked like a WRX, but had a crappy non-turbo motor.
I thought the exact same thing.
Panda spec in this is very cool
It's Canadian morning! Throttle house to straight pipes! And soon... Savage geese (which is American but geese are Canadian so I'm confused)
Subaru's corporate infotainment stack is probably the worst on the market today.
can you rank the best or at least the ones that come just in front of Subaru? what about Volvo; how's that one? I guess the trick is how many layers one has to navigate to get to the desired function....
Love those Brembos!
TR = Tuner Ready
Track ready. It’s not a base trim anymore.
Hp and torque figures less than that of an 03 350z in 2024 is CRAZY for an awd sports sedan 🤦🏽♂️
The power to weight of a 350z is better than this car 😭
Ya but it’s held back from the factory, tune it and you gain a lot of power
I’m of a similar mindset. It’s reveal I wasn’t feeling it l, but in person it made me think “off-road rally vibes” which I love for a car since you dont see often. I still think the rear end is too chunky but I love the looks over typcial street car vibes
They decided to make it look like it belonged in a family photo with an outback Crosstrek and Forrester. People seem to forget it's still a Subaru.
What I find is that this car doesn’t photograph well but in person looks better and better. I bought a ‘23 about a month ago and I absolutely love the look now.
@@turnerdrywallrestoration8077 Totally agree. It's a bit like that woman Seinfeld dates who looks bad in certain lighting haha. I've had my VB for almost 2 years now and am still in love with it.
been a long time fan of the subaru brand, personally owned 5 over the course of my driving days. subaru has been very lazy and have been left in the dust by the competition.
You can fix the shifter for less than 60 bucks
Please make a STI, Subaru!!
Another DJ, J? Gotta ask… what do you do for work besides test cars?!
Those black wheel arches are abominable.
It's to save some paint if any folks decide to do some rally stuff.
Subaru doesn't have the best paint nor body panels, they're trying to save stuff the best they can.
I ordered & have a '21 Crosstrek Limited ... nice gas saving vehicle. BUT not on par with my 26 yr old Toyota 4 Runner Limited in paint & or body panel quality.
@@danielfair4675 Toyota is to blame for some of the modern Subaru boringness. Ever since they upped their market share the designs have become less interesting. Frameless windows for example - gone. Wish Toyota didn't get their grubby little fingers in the original Subaru designs...
If a car is going to have a manual, why can’t it be perfect??? It’s the ONE thing you touch all the time! My BMW 325e had a fantastic manual, in 1985. That was 40 years ago. I don’t understand how these user interface engineers can’t figure out that manual transmission car owners want to enjoy shifting. 🤷🏼♂️
Give us a North American wagon and a very special Tail of the Dragon episode to celebrate…
Microscoped!! Those lines, Cheryl !
Just give me a Crosstrek WRX already Subaru. It would sell like hotcakes as all Crosstreks do in this day and age. The cladding diaper is just way too ugly and WRX sales are down like 40%
A Crosstrek Wilderness STI would be hilariously awesome.
Subaru need to do a modern interpretation of it's 1998 - 2000 WRXs'. Specifically their 22B STi.
They made better cars than the 22B. Also 2 door vs 4 door would require a massive ammount of money to engineer. I'd be happier with a modern sti variant or even a hatch
RS absolutely sounds faster than TR lol
What’s a “Canada”?
What's a mintberry ?
@@NetomaMusic 🤔 🤔 🤔….ya know…. I hadn’t really thought about it…..
Maybe you guys need to do some more adventure or special episodes. Like back in the day buying cheap cars and mod them. The novelty of you being young enthousiasts wears off a little bit in my opinion.
I mod cars on my personal channel itsreallyjakub
Make WRX Imprezza Again
Jacob should not complain he want manual and he got it this is not AT or CVT 😂
The wheel arch eyebrows are a fatal flaw.
VBs are awesome!
Which part of ontario are you people driving?
"The Recaro seats are comfortable.",
May I suggest regular exercise? 3 to 5 days to week, some half an hour each time. Sorry not sorry.
when are you getting the new x3?
Bought the 24 limited and it’s been great so far.
It is so uncompetitive that it makes little sense to purchase. Buy the base and mod or extent out to vastly superior machines - Corolla GR, Golf R. Either way, Subaru dropped the ball by not providing a true STI version.
Anyone who bought the TR for '24 gotta be punching the air after Subaru announced the tS for 2025. Straight troll move by Subaru. 😂
Paint matching the fender flares completely transforms these cars and makes them look much better.
I think Subaru heard you and then called it the TS
...not until 2025
looks like a civic from the back
