    1) I actually have a 3.5mm mic input on my mixer. Could I simply run a 3.5mm to 3.5mm cable from the TRRS adapter from my Android to the mic input on my mixer?
    2) Can the TRRS adapter be connected to a 3.5mm to RCA adapter cable so I could connect to the RCA inputs on the mixer?

    • @kettnercreative
      @kettnercreative  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I would go with the Yamaha. Another viewer commented with some usb issues with the Mackie. The 4 USB inputs, are seemingly out of order to what a phone can actually send. So you're best with a 2/2USB mixer like the Yamaha.

    • @melodology-5383
      @melodology-5383 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@kettnercreative correct, but also many people are complaining about the USB signal on the Yamaha being weak on computers. Will this issue be also applied when using a phone??
      Basically, I'm a guitarist (classical guitar) directly playing through condenser microphone. Also I'm a singer (also using condenser microphone). Also I have one guitar reverb pedal. Also, sometimes I like to play background music from a phone and then play over it when stream. That's it
      I want to live stream on Instagram, TH-cam etc USING ONLY my iphone. Where I can just apply all my settings on the mixer and stream right away with no post production.
      Which mixer is the best in terms of mic preamps (noise, quality, clarity) connectivity to the phone, the ability to Hook up my pedal and the ability to transfer all the EQs and effects to my phone live stream in Stereo Mode.
      Sorry for the inconvenience 🌹

    • @kettnercreative
      @kettnercreative  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@melodology-5383 The complaint against Yamaha is largely mis-understood. Basically, because it's a hybrid device there is a 12dB offset from the analog meter to the USB output. If you're using the USB output, you just need to push the output harder.

Since I've gotten an iPhone 16 Pro Max with USB-C and can't find any headphone adapter that will work. I called Apple and they haven't a clue what I'm referring to. Any suggestions? Your video was fantastic and because of you I was able to create video on my Android phone using your recommended connections out from my external mixer into my phone (using Open Camera). My vocals, guitar, and backing tracks recorded so well.
    Here’s a question for you. I realize it’s beyond the purpose of your video here , but doesn’t hurt to ask. I uploaded the resulting video I created to TH-cam. When i played it on my flat screen with 5.1, it only played on my 2 front speakers. I understand TH-cam solely supports 2 channel and not legit surround sound, but many videos I watch do play on my rear as well as front speakers. Haven’t figured out why the vid I created only play on the front 2. Do you have any experience with this by chance? Thanks in advance from your new subscriber. 👍

      @@kettnercreative Thought this update may be of interest. I was able to isolate it to the Open Camera app at least. Within Video Settings / Audio Channels, I had it set originally to Stereo and that results in output to the 2 front speakers only. It seems like Default assigns it to mono and while I can hear output in the rear speakers too, the volume is very low and possibly a little distorted if I don’t find something in the Open Camera help files, I’m hoping they have a customer support are who can take a phone call. Maybe it’s a Video Format selection thing. I have it set to default, but there are other choices like mpeg4, 3gpp.

    I seem to have a problem with the pro movie app not connecting to my audio interface adapter. I’ve hooked up everything as you said using my interface like the Irig stream you have to my iPhone and installed the app, but it doesn’t seem to show up in the app. The interface I use is a Saramonic SR-AX101 Device. I also have the BeachTek DXA-2T which is similar to the Saramonic Device. I use both of them to 2 of my canon cameras to the mixing board and it works perfectly fine. Not sure why it’s not connected or showing up on the app. Would these 2 devices work with the pro movie app or do you have any suggestions. Thanks

    How did you get sound out of the mixer? I didn't see any xlr or 1/4 " connections to go to speakers

    15:07 since that's the case, what if our Audio Interface is the one that has the USB and power connection combined together as one? Does that mean that we can't use that Audio Interface and we need one that has separate connections of USB and power?

    I was looking for a recommendation on how to connect my iPad Pro to my mixer and out to my speakers. I have watched several of your videos and have not seen this connection yet only in the opposite direction. I have tried to do this connection with a regular iPad Pro adapter and found that the adapter would get hot and eventually stop sending any audio to the mixer.

      It's exactly the same as the phone. You can either use the headphone output or the USBC method.

    Cool! I use a Focusrite pro 40 for 8ch studio sound (full drum kit +) and a Roland GO mixer to stream audio via USB to my Android 10 phone. (stereo out via my 16ch mixer). The problem is.. The limiter on the Go mixer, and bandwidth the phone can handle, esp for live streaming. It's super hard to dial in a full sound, I have to roll off bass a lot, and turn up mids tops. It's kinda weird to do this, and very hit n miss. I'll try a direct cable connex, but line to mic level probably is worse. Tried the irig too, about the same deal. The smaller 2ch Focusrite interface might actually work for me, given that the pro40 is optical out only. So frustrating!

    I have a question … i have a rc 505 mk2 loop station which i connect to my macbook and to use a daw on it. I would like to get the audio directly to the iphone though… is there a way i could do the usb connection like you showed in option 2 ? The rc 505 only has 1 usb dock though so I am not sure how this could work…

    Hey! I bough the item you used to connect mgx10 , scarlet 2!2 and iPhone but it seems not working to me I am not sure why the USB hub is not powering a Scarlett 2!2 2nd generation. Any idea how I can make this work?

    Thanks Jordan, for this informative video! My phone is a Galaxy S22, which only has USB-C output; like the iPhone, looks like the 3.5 mm audio out is now extinct! :) Last month I used a USB-C to USB-B cable to connect to my Mackie ProFX6v3 mixer which has USB. It was interesting that I could only hear the audio from the phone via headset and the sound would not flow into the main mix into my PA speaker! Hmmmm, I thought, what gives??? Then I realized: USB channels 1-2 flow into the Mackie to be monitored via headphones, and only USB channels 3-4 can go to the main mix. This can be easily manipulated on a laptop but a cellphone has no control over USB channels. If anyone knows of how to get around this, do post a reply! I know of one gadget which I will not spend $53 on, is a Peavey USB-P. Takes the audio from a laptop's USB port, and sends it via XLR outputs into two XLR inputs of the mixer. But if your mixer only has 2 XLR inputs, you're out of luck as regards vocal and guitar! :) Someone told me though that it sends out superb high-fidelity audio.
    Oh by the way, I've used 3.5 mm audio out into a split cable into one of the non-XLR inputs of mixers for years. Currently what I do is use 1Mii Bluetooth Audio receivers (a good one which I use is the 1Mii B06 Plus, $29 at Amazon) instead of cables. These days Bluetooth 5.0 and up really has great sound.

      Interesting, I've used the Mackie in Garageband on an iPad before, but you're right, it's built for multi-track recording and perhaps they got things out of order. Have you tried emailing Mackie at all?

      @Kettner Creative Jordan, I am completely convinced that a phone sends out USB channels 1 and 2. Just have to accept that I guess 🤷

      At last! I've found someone else with a Galaxy S22! I'm connecting my mixer to audio interface then out of there into a trs to trrs adapter then a trrs to usb c into my android. The sound I am getting is terrible! It's coming and going and sounds almost phased at times. When I use my old S10 with the 3.5mm jack I get a great sound perfectly balanced but the camera is not as good for streaming. I don't want to have to put my camera into OBS and stream audio from a different source! Can anyone help!

      @@scotscub76bro why are u using a audio interface in the middle? Just pull out any 1/4 unbalanced from your mixer stage it down to 3.5mm trs and then plug in the trs to trrs adapter then connect type c to 3.5mm trrs adapter.
      But anyways its been 2 months have you found any fix for this?
