Your videos have gave me a lot of valuable info and I went from having a $3,000-4,000 “needed” parts list. To a like $1,200 to swap my 92 Isuzu and keep it a manual 5spd
i did a engine swap back in 1998 with my s10 and a LT1 from a 96 vette as long as you use a good racing clutch your good,i was young i raced and dogged the hell out of it and it held up fine, many years later here i go again,05 blazer with a 6.0 L96 and yep a stock 5 speed and racing clutch i will admit this time i will have a lot more power but i wont be dogging it this time or racing everybody like i did when i was 28 yrs old haha.
HeadFlowInc solid bronze eh? Hmm. SPEEDWAY offers the wackiest off the wall stuff too. Parts you'd think nobody sold lol I'll keep that in mind thanks man!
I'm doing the same to my 03 Sonoma. It's a 2.2 with the nv1500. I'm going 5.3 with an nv3500. Will be watching your build! Might even get a go pro and video mine too!
I used the same flywheel on my ls swap in my Scottsdale with the sm465 trans. The flywheel was tapered so when I put a level accrossed it was a 1/8 inch out on each end. It was like that right out of the box. Make sure to check it and get it turned down if it is
what would be awesome is if chevy would bring back the 3rd gen s10 extreme and put a 4.8l turbo lsx all aluminum engine in but until then we all will have to do the bront of it
I used a 2002 Camaro Z28 clutch set but I don't know if that will fit the NV3500 bell? Old school clutches will not work, contrary to some TH-cam videos claims, an old school 11" clutch leaves 1/3 of the clutch face on the inner diameter touching nothing! The LS has a large narrow contact area on The flywheel. 👍
HeadFlowInc I was going to use either the 4.8 clutch set or the 4.3 clutch set. The T56 clutch set won't work because I believe the input shaft only has 10 splines. So it's either of those clutch kits. my gut is telling me the 4.8 nv3509 clutch set is the way to go
BeeterOlds I haven’t got to the end of your video yet but does all the s10 come with the nv3500 or is a specific model and if is the a part number or something to look for and does the nv3500 bolt right on the Ls motor or do I need a different bell housing
Love your vids👍 at some point I'm gonna go Ls and it's great knowing what it takes to do it 👍 and better yet your running a carb which I would like to see what it takes to do that 👍 Don't know much about computer flashing laptop programming buying hp tuners etc
BEETEROLDS makes sense fuel injection is a sweet setup easy start ups and more efficient I would love to get FI-injection can't afford it and like you try and use what I have All this computer stuff I'm getting lost in the wind lol
It's tough to find anyone that can tune a carb anymore. I don't know how many cars I have to work on (a lot of G-body's) that have been SBC swapped with carbs on them that run like crap. I'm keeping the fuel injection. lol
Luk makes a super cheap clutch I have a friend run over 450hp trashed the stock trans n clutch for over 2 years broke it bought another out the pull part for 200 n still going

I'm building a s10 also but my truck is 4x4 but I removed my front diff because I'm gonna sas it
Happen to have a spare NV3500 laying around? I need one for my 89 S10 I'm putting an LS in.

Will that flywheel and clutch kit fit on a 6.0 ls?
As long as its an 02 or later. Yes
Cool project ls swap s10 are cool nice looking ls engine
YES Great video! This is the exact swap im trying to do, so these videos are very helpful!
They make a .250 long pilot bushing, I wish I had known before.
HeadFlowInc what's the purpose of a .25 bushing vs the LS7 bearing
Check Speedway Motors
91025800
BEETEROLDS it seats fully in the crank and adds support

great info i a going to do the same swap and build the truck chevy should have

The parts buildup is always some of the fun of the project!!!

Check out the end of my T-5 swap fail #1 video for a better explanation on the disc issues.
Got a link brother?
Cool project!
I have a 2000 gmc Sonoma with a sbc 350 with a nv3500 from a 90s c1500. I'm gonna swap in a 2002 5.3 what parts do I need to use my nv3500 still
Dig thru my videos. I explained it
Nice video very helpful, but let's say I go with a t56 6 speed and a 6.0 will the same flywheel and pilot bearing still work for the t56?
what clutch set did you end up using? also what did you do for the hydraulics?
Slickshot fifteysix watch my other videos
BEETEROLDS yep i saw the video literally 15 seconds after i left the comment haha
Was there any differences between a 95 nv3500 and the 99 nv3500 you swapped on the 5.3
Shifter location. The last ones they stuck in S10s had a shift located near the rear vs the earlier ones which were more centralized

juiced71 thanks man. I'll be clear I only went the carburetor route because I had the ignition controller and Intake already

JayinMI EFI is fine for a daily but man it gets costly quick for performance.
Get the GM muscle car swap pan. Truck pan will hang WAAAYYYY TOO LOW
Or the Holley 302-1 pan.
my RPM is on 2000 cant i get it lower ?? help
Jovani Torres take it to a mechanic
Luk makes a super cheap clutch I have a friend run over 450hp trashed the stock trans n clutch for over 2 years broke it bought another out the pull part for 200 n still going
David Policastro that's what I was going to go with
BEETEROLDS its nice for 75 bucks
David Policastro where do you find a luk clutch set for $75?
Please show us that pan mod when you get it done.
Kevin Hornbuckle thats the plan
Unwatchable. Fix the audio. Too low.
Its also old as hell.
