    What clutch master and fitting work with this

  • @az00r
    @az00r 4 ปีที่แล้ว

    thank you very much. i think that you closed all my questions about this kind of swap. i got 2004 rcsb with 4.3 and nv3500, so the usage of 4.3 clutch with ls style engines was the main thing. i can’t find anywhere tech proof’s that it won’t fit, only like “nah, get from 4,8” and so on.

    Hey i bought a nv3500 from a 4.8 chevy and put it in my 350 90 chevy. Everything bolted up perfect but im wondering where is the long line like the one on you transmission goes bc this new ones dont come with the clutch slave cylinder like the old nv3500?

  • @Spudderr
    @Spudderr 7 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    So just to make sure I heard everything right, 4.8 clutch/flywheel and slave? I thought you had to get a special swap flywheel for this setup

  • @jaeslattery9235
    @jaeslattery9235 3 ปีที่แล้ว

    I like that slave cylinder with the built in braided line; makes connecting to master cylinder soooo much easier. I now will refuse to call the connect, anything but that, maybe a take a week connect; it was aweful.

  • @qunicetoole7497
    @qunicetoole7497 3 ปีที่แล้ว

    Beeter olds do you need to use the internal slave cylinder for Ls swap? my 95 Chevy 1500 has the nv3500 trans.w/ external slave cylinder.... will it still work with the 5.3 swap?✌

    I am doing the exact same build as you except I'm not going carburated, I was wondering did you have to make any modifications to your drive shaft, and could you explain how I can setup my fuel system, I have the return less fuel rails, thanks in advance I really appreciate all advice and help from anyone..
    Ps.. love your videos man you have a slick little truck.

      Kevin Hornbuckle its a fairly standard procedure. Just as you would in any other clutch installation.

    Have a question can a lower first gear and lower reverse gear be put in a NV 3500

    • @beeterolds
      @beeterolds  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Grab a NV3500 out of a fullsize truck they are plenty low is

  • @HeadFlowInc
    @HeadFlowInc 7 ปีที่แล้ว +2

    How’s the shifter box location compare between the NV3500 and a Camaro T5?
    I’m seriously considering the NV3500 since my T5 is hurt right now. What’s your thoughts, I hear the NV3500 might be stronger?

    • @beeterolds
      @beeterolds  7 ปีที่แล้ว

      HeadFlowInc it’s in the same location as the S10 T5. The 99-04 NV3500 are the strongest and most desirable. They are rated at 325-350ft lbs and have a 3.50 1st compared to the full-size truck 4.03 1st. All In all they are said to be a direct swap to the S10 T5

    • @beeterolds
      @beeterolds  7 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I was actually wrong about the shifter location this trans puts the shifter 4 inches further back towards the tailshaft. I have some cutting to do.

    • @HeadFlowInc

      BEETEROLDS Dang, good thing sheet metal is cheap! 👍
      I scored a fresh rebuild zero miles 1968 GTO TH400 with a New B&M 2400 Converter $340.00! It was a true Christmas Miracle🎄😇

    • @beeterolds
      @beeterolds  7 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      HeadFlowInc i would say so lol I’ll be making a cover out of sheet metal and I’ll seam seal it. Probably cover the hole with a cup holder too. At least I can scoot the center console back a few inches I’d hate to have to remove it altogether :/

    • @HeadFlowInc
      @HeadFlowInc 7 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      BEETEROLDS Sounds like a good plan! I’ll need to seal the hole from the T-5 phase; I’d like to find a console! It truly sucks not having cup holders! 👍👍👍

    Thanks for the info very useful. I've looked around and I haven't found too much info on that. The 04-05 Silverado 2500 with the manual transmission had an NV4500 and used the same Sachs flywheel NFW1050 as the 4.8. I'm bolting an NV3500 to a LQ4 and I'd like a clutch a little more stout than one out of the 4.8. Since they both used the same flywheel, do you think I could use the clutch from a 6.0? Thanks in advance!

    I realize this is an old video, but would all the same parts be used if I had a nv3500 out of a 03 1500 with the 4.3?

  • @julz9272

    I just bought a 97 s10. Has a 4.3 vortec and is manual. Paid $250 the motor is blown, previous owner said the clutch was replaced 5 months before motor blew. Would I still need all 4.8 clutch/pressure plate ect. Or would I be able to use the clutch already in the car?

      I figured it out.

    • @beeterolds
      @beeterolds  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Basically the 4.8 silverado came with an nv3500 I just used the parts for that application and it worked like a charm. Even the Hummer pan had a bolt boss for the bottom mounting hole for the trans too. Kinda nice

  • @luis1lowsierra926
    @luis1lowsierra926 7 ปีที่แล้ว

    Is the Clutch and Slave the same on a 00 sierra 4.3 nv3500? I'm looking to swap my sierra to a 4.8 but idk what parts to buy since my truck originally came with the nv3500 , will i have to buy a different clutch and throwout bearing or will they fit the 4.8?

    • @beeterolds
      @beeterolds  7 ปีที่แล้ว

      I made other videos covering this info. The 4.3 stuff except for the trans won't work

    • @luis1lowsierra926
      @luis1lowsierra926 7 ปีที่แล้ว

      BEETEROLDS So basically i would have to buy a 4.8 clutch kit and flywheel correct

  • @jeremybrewer38
    @jeremybrewer38 7 ปีที่แล้ว

    What's the torque rating for that clutch? I'm doing the same swap in a 02 S10 an my 5.3 will be around 425hp/tq. So I'm curious if that Sachs kit will hold that amount.....

    • @beeterolds
      @beeterolds  7 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Jeremy Brewer well the way I look at it is this kit was designed for a V8 rated at 305ftlbs used in a 4800-5500lb truck. Our trucks weigh 27-3500lbs respectively so I don’t see why it won’t hold. I would go with the LUK kit personally. I guess we will find out if it holds or not lol

  • @Canadianlogger822
    @Canadianlogger822 5 ปีที่แล้ว

    Do you think a nv1500 will hold up to a 5.3 I got one for my 07 Silverado and I will be doing the swap soon I was just wondering if I should look for a nv3500 instead

    • @austinknowlton1783
      @austinknowlton1783 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Interesting question; I have the same one. I just bought a 98 S10 with a 2.2 NV1500 setup. Not looking to build a world beater just thinking about an stock LS for it eventually and wondering how well the stock drivetrain would hold up.

    • @Canadianlogger822
      @Canadianlogger822 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Austin Knowlton well I just did the swap and so far so good it seems to be holding up pretty good

    I have a 1994 s10 I'm doing an ls swap on , I have the external slave s10 nv3500
    looking to swap front half like you did , are any special tools required and can you mess something up easily doing it ?

    • @beeterolds
      @beeterolds  7 ปีที่แล้ว

      youtubeisfullofspam I honestly don’t understand what you are asking. From analyzing your question I can tell you this much a lot of ppl have problems with an external slave and an LS engine

    • @youtubeisfullofspam7068
      @youtubeisfullofspam7068 7 ปีที่แล้ว

      thanks for the reply, what I'm asking is :
      is converting the old style nv3500 external slave to internal slave by changing the case easy , or do you need transmission building skills
