      Here's the funny thing. A Wacom pen tablet from that generation (if you can still find working drivers) is still good. Still rockin' on my Intuos Pro Medium (2017) which has a more sensitive pen than Huion or XP Pen (lower IAF and higher pressure range), but also use a Huion 16 (2021) as a display and for inking (this is where display tablets excel). I find the pen tablet to be more ergonomic and comfortable for everything else like sketching and painting. Now, I get that some people can never adjust to a pen tablet, but most people can within a couple of weeks.

    love that recessed plug for the monitor c cable.not sure why most plugs dont have some kind of recessing or open gaping to protect bending. also this design is in the right direction. not something i like to see on pro versions. but if they made a remote with these wheels. although they need to work on button design, cause having the same shape and sized buttons next to each other is counter intuitive with more than two. the middle button could have been a circle or long shaped, cause it helps so much. i dont enjoy looking at the buttons, even when they are right next to the screen.

    I've been wanting to upgrade from my screenless Wacom Intuos and this looks like the most promising that I've seen. I've heard reviewers say anything below 16 inch is too small, but I could possibly make icons bigger and move brushes, layer menu, and color wheel to another screen to free up drawing space.

    • @teohontech7141
      @teohontech7141  2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      If you have to hide the palettes or colour wherl, or move to another screen, it would not be as convenient compared to having all your controls on one display. 13 inch is still okay with the controls but on a 16 inch you can have bigger palettes (easy on the eyes) and bigger canvas space

    • @BrianIsWatching

      @@teohontech7141 If it's a matter of grabbing the mouse to click things on the other screen then that's just an extra second, if that works the way I imagine. @@teohontech7141 Quite a few older or cheaper or just subpar LCDs do use PWM (including Cintiq 13HD). I had huion and sparate stand was one of thing that pushed me to switch. I even thought about gluing it with double sided tape to back of huion. It really goes in your way if you want to move your tablet, even slightly, u have to remember about griping it certain way because if not stand will be left behind. @teohontech7141  2 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      You can cut out some paper to compare the sizes

    • @Idaero_Art
      @Idaero_Art 2 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Get your comfortable size. Teoh’s tip is good. Try to draw on paper with those size. But don’t move your head closer o.o You will ruin your eyes if you draw with 5cm distance (back then I draw like that on paper to get details. Digital art you can just zoom. Technology!!l). One thing to remember is you will not draw on full screen on PC programs. The UI took like 1/4 of it.
      13” is completely useable. It’s basically same like using normal iPad (10”) because PC apps are taking lot of space around the edge (like the video here). You can customize the UI cleaner though. The ‘downside’ of bigger budget tablet is they are all still 1920x1080 pixels, so the it’s kinda less sharp, and the pixels is visible, bit grainy. But you wont really notice it till you compare directly, so it’s fine. To compare this, mobile phones have bigger resolution o.o So IMO, 13” is perfect size for 1080p screen.
      The screen and pen quality are exact same. I only have compared xppen 13 gen2 and huion kamvas 16 2021. I read on comment Teoh also said the quality is mostly same from the gen2.

    • @teohontech7141
      @teohontech7141  2 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      Yes, but pen displays are not ideal for note taking apps because of latency. When writing, you want to write fast and pen displays have latency. For drawing it's alright because people don't draw THAT fast.

    this or the Kamvas 16 2.5k? I'm also considering XP Pen Artist 16 Pro Gen 2 but I've heard stories about XP Pen products overheating and having mediocre colour accuracy...

    • @teohontech7141
      @teohontech7141  หลายเดือนก่อน

      It really comes down to budget and what compromises you can accept. 16 (2.5K) has higher resolution but matte surface is not as good as 13 (g3) which is low 1080P resolution but matte surface does not affect image quality.

      They surely are refining their products. I remember reviewing their first pen display many years ago and the list of pros and cons has many cons. Today, it's actually difficult to find cons to list. Even the cons mentioned in this video (no USB-C cable, no stand) are not even related to the product itself.
