A few years ago. My husband bought me a tons of oranges. I had never canned ir made jellies before . So I took to the internet to get some recipes. I found an orange marmalade recipe . Though there were a few mistakes like my orange rind was too big. I have found a orange chicken recipe that everyone loves that I use the marmalade in. So one fail and one win. That's a good day in the kitchen. It's now giving me the courage to tackle pressure canning. Thanks for the recipe. I will add it to my file and next time I will try thus one.
I am wanting this for orange chicken as well, so I'm glad to hear it can work well for that. I have a whole binder of recipes thanks to this collaboration!
Nice to meet you, Alana! One thing I love about these collaborations is the introduction to channels of canning enthusiasts not yet met, where there's more viewing to enjoy and more inspiring projects to ponder. I'm looking forward to seeing more. Your marmalade is gorgeous! What a perfect topping for a fresh from the oven buttermilk biscuit on a cold day. Best wishes!
Good morning Sandra! Thank you very much for watching and for leaving this lovely message...you are very kind! Take care and I hope you have a wonderful day!
I LOVE ORANGE MARMALADE! Put it in a crust to make quick tarts and I’m in Heaven. Never made it, but think I need to. Living in Florida you’d think we’d make it all the time 🤣 Looking forward to making this in Canuary. Thank you and thank you Leisa & For Jars!
One of my go tos for various glazes and for use with proteins. One of my children even uses for PB & J! I've never done my own marmalade and I should! THANKS so much for sharing
Thank you for being a part of this collaboration! I am able to watch different channels, that I didn’t even know about, on canning now. Your marmalade looks beautiful and delicious! 😊
The level of detail you provided is perfect. I definitely learned some new things on canning. Looks delicious, I am absolutely going to try this recipe.
What a beautiful marmalade! I have made marmalade one time and left the membrane in and apparently left too much rind on the skin. 🤥 My mom always had orange marmalade that she made and when she made her bread we would have it on end piece along with a cup of Constant Comment tea. Thanks for prompting a very fond memory Alana. And thank you to FORJARS for sponsoring and providing such wonderful prizes and to Suttons Daze for providing a wonderful gift also!
Another enjoyable Canuary experience. Thank you to all of the creators and sponsors, as well as to everyone who has commented. The canning community rocks!
Orange marmalade is my favorite. Home canned is better than any store bought. Yours turned out beautiful. Thanks for being part of my favorite collaboration. Have a blessed night!
I have never ventured into marmalade but my youngest son has been wanting to see why Paddington Bear loves his orange marmalade so much. Thanks for a great mother/son project idea.
This Canuary 23 is amazing! I have seen so many recipes that I dearly love but have never tried. I can’t thank you Leisa for organizing, For Jars for sponsoring and all of the wonderful TH-camrs!.
This Canuary just keeps getting better, I have now found new ppl to follow and I am learning so much. Thank you Alana and Forjars for sponsering this awesome group of canners.
One of the many benefits of Canuary is finding all new TH-camrs like you! I'll definitely be checking our more of your content for inspiration! God bless.
I think canning jams and jellies to be the most challenging because of the precision needed for reaching the gel stage. The reward is with it for such delicious sweet treats. Thanks for the video.
Found you thru Canuary. I have found some great channels such as yours. Thank you for that! I remember when I was little (I am 50 now), I remember my mom loved Orange Marmalade and it was a special treat to have it in the house!
Thanks for sharing the recipe! I like that it only makes a fee jars so we can try it out and I'd we like it, we can always make more! Seems a great way to preserve orange/lemony goodness! So neat to find new channels and great ideas! This is my first Canuary. Thanks all!
I make one similar. For years we've called it Amber Marmalade because that's what it was called in the old Farm Journal Cookbook it came from. Grapefruit replaces the Clementines. No store bought pectin. It has a deep rich flavor, but it sure takes a long time to make. I like that you showed the wrinkle test.
Glad to have found yet another new channel for canning videos! I've never eaten nor made orange marmalade. This recipe is small batch so makes it easier for first time users! Thank you and Happy Canning!
I love this. I had a Calamondon orange tree as my first Christmas tree when I moved to Florida in 1979. My grandmother made marmalade from the huge harvest of about 10 pounds from that 3 foot tree. She got about 4 pounds of seeds she removed, though. I will try this soon. Thanks for that and excellent directions . Kris in Orlando
Hi Alana. Canned up a batch of the Orange Marmalade today. Snowing winter day here in the high desert of Oregon and this Marmalade is like an afternoon in Florida! Your video inspired me to can something new. It's absolutely lovely. As to your reply wondering what words gave you away to me as a Canadian, any word with "out" in it. Lol. Such as "about" and the word been come to mind. Not that it's a bad thing. I love Canadians! I lived in Montana not far from the Canadian border and had the pleasure of meeting many when they ventured down from Saskatchewan to our little town south of the border. Take care and looking forward to what you bring next to Canuary 2023.
Boy do I hope I didn't already leave a comment. I have taken asleep during a few videos (I watch at night and sometimes, off I go, like it or not. I am really excited about this recipe. I had gotten some oranges just for marmalade. Now I feel a lot more confident about it. Thank you a lot
Thank you so much for participating in this years Canuary. I’m super excited to get started canning some of the awesome recipes and food ideas from this years collaboration. I’m so glad I stumbled across this last year and able to add to my pantry shelves. Learned even more this year…again Thank You!! Hats off to Forjars❤❤
I agree with Sandra Adami. I'm finding channels I've never seen come up in my suggested videos even though I search canning, homesteading and food preservation all the time. Thanks for showing the orange marmalade, my granddaughter loves it and I've got navel oranges in the fridge that will be "going south" soon so it's time to use them up!🍊
Hi Kathy...thank you very much for visiting and leaving this kind message! I hope you and your granddaughter enjoy the marmalade as much as we do! Take care and have a lovely day! 🌻
Thank you for explaining how to have success when reducing sugar. Store bought is often so cloyingly sweet. I like being able to adjust the amount of sugar.
Love love love this. I am fluent in hot water bath canning so I will jump right on this it's the pressure canning I'm not so fluent in. Watching you all is getting me prepared to begin this summer when my garden goes crazy!!
I love marmalade & had no idea what all went into making it! Holy cow, it’s labor intensive. But, it also made me almost drool just looking at it. I think I’m gonna give it a try!!
Started an adventure with a greenhouse in the snow about a year ago. Have several citrus trees started. May (God willing) have lots of citrus in a couple of years. This sounds like a great way to use some of the produce!
I made orange marmalade for the first time a few weeks ago. I love how it turned out so having a new recipe to try out is exciting. Being able to control the amount of sugar that goes into my jams and now marmalade has made it possible to continue enjoying it while still watching my glucose levels. Great idea of using the grater for prepping the skins.
My mother and grandmother use to make orange marmalade, it was delicious - will be giving this a try. Thank you for sharing this with is and Thank You Forjars for sponsoring this years canuary.
This is my second year of watching Canuary and have learned so much and enjoy the new YT channels. I look forward to trying many of these recipes? I have never done orange marmalade before. Thanks for sharing this!
Yeah!!! Another Canuary collaboration!!! I love these! You all have taught me so much this past year as I've newly jumped on this canning and preserving journey. Thank you for your inspiration and commitment. You all are such a blessing! Thank you to Forjars for sponsoring the collaboration this year. Some people will be greatly blessed by your generosity ! Wishing you all the best :)
I was never a marmalade fan as a child but I have matured my pallet over all the years. I have found the marmalade to be a beautiful addition to salmon and orange chicken. Love your citric blend suggestion to broaden the flavors. Thanks for sharing! (Still tip-toeing around the pressure cooker but liven the water bath videos!)
I also hated orange marmalade as a kid, but I like it as an adult. I usually use it as a glaze on chicken or pork and I look forward to making my won to use. Thanks for sharing!
One of my grandmother’s bridge club friends would gift us homemade marmalade at Christmas. I’ve never made it myself - but with such good memories I may venture to make this now! We love marmalade on a toasted English muffin.
I enjoyed watching you make Orange Marmalade. My husband and I are both diabetic so I am going to try this with low/no sugar pectin and Splenda. Thank you so much for your contribution to the collab. God Bless You!
Never thought to use a grater in making marmalade. Game changer! It's a lovely perk when I find additional youtubers to subscribe to through these collabs and challenges. Glad I found you :)
Hi Susan! I love the way certain things, such as a recipe will bring back wonderful memories of a loved one. I feel the same way...it almost makes food taste better when there is a fond memory attached.❤

Hi Chelle...thank you very much for watching and for your kind message! You have made my day...take care and have a lovely evening!
I hated marmalade as a child but now I think I would love it because I do enjoy eating the peels.
I haven’t had orange marmalade since childhood, i like how you shredded the peels and avoided the inner membranes.
I think canning jams and jellies to be the most challenging because of the precision needed for reaching the gel stage. The reward is with it for such delicious sweet treats. Thanks for the video.
That tip about grating the peel off the citrus is a great one. thanks for sharing.
I never liked it as a kid either but my grandma used to have it all the time. Now as an adult I love it and it reminds me of her 🥰
