  • If you have a car that cranks slow or has hard time starting because the engine is turning over slow / engine starter is slow in this video we will explain the top reasons why a car may crank slow. We demonstrated what caused our Porsche to crank slow and have hard time starting but the video will work for most cars quipped with engine starter (not electric or hybrid cars). If your car cranks slow and you think it is a bad starter always check how powerful the battery is so you do not waste money on a new starter. Hopefully the video will be helpful to all of you that have a problem with car cranking slow or engine turning over slow. a faulty starter, I noticed a lot of people only test ground current draw on the case of the starter motor, which showed no fault, as there was a fault from the ground wire on the starter to the case itself. While cranking problems can be frustrating, but identifying and correcting the root cause does not have to be. The first step is to identify the symptoms. In a cranking system, you can divide your symptoms into one of three possible troubleshooting categories: - Click No-Crank: The solenoid clicks but the starter doesn't crank. - No-Click No-Crank: he solenoid doesn't click and the starter doesn't crank. - Slow Crank: The starter will crank, however, the engine RPM is slow to start the vehicle.

Nice to see a mechanic that actually knows how to use a voltmeter instead of just reading codes and swapping things at random until it's fixed.

A goid idea is to fit a digital volt meter in the vehicle so you can see what its charging rate at all times. Essy to fit as well. 🇬🇧

Possibly a bad ground to the starter or trashed solenoid / relay , take it out and bench test it

If you've got to set a jumper cables, you can take One end of the cable And put it on the ground side on your battery and in the other end of that cable and put it on your engine block somewhere and see if it improves.

Can someone help, the starter is not working on the car battery, it cranks once or twice , called roadside assistance, the starter starts on their jump starter (which is stronger than car battery) , saying that the starter is taking too much power than it should, plus the starter has slow cranking speed, so they are saying pretty much its the starter, whats your experience or advice if u had similar experience? Im worried ill change the starter but wont fix it

It sounds like a battery with a bad cell. If the starter works fine with the battery being jumped, then the only thing that has changed is the jumper battery being introduced. How old is your battery?

@@Razz-es9qw it was the starter motor, consuming alot of electricity, only a strong jump starter that starts a truck was able to start it, so changed the starter and everything is fine now
