Love the motherly look on Krystal's face when she interacts with Emily and how psyched Emily gets to have these segments. You can tell there's mad respect between the two of them.
This was a stupid conversation that completely failed to grasp the motivations of the subjects, I would expect more from Emily, not so much from Krystal
Emily is a bit lacking in depth and breadth it seems. I’ve listened to many of her interviews. Once she’s outside of her own spaces, she struggles a bit. I give her credit for going out into other situations though. Her interview of Maryanne Williamson was a good one. I think Maryanne taught her quite a bit and Emily genuinely seemed to appreciate the conversation.
I'm gonna stop watching Breaking points, Ball is literally using BP to campaign for the democratic party these days, she's truly insufferable, I can't even imagine the things that her co host thinking behind her back, she's biased beyond reasoning on a show that is supposed to be in the middle of both parties, she really does think we're stoopid😅
Personally I don’t think this content is up to brand standards. The title Labeling is misleading towards the subject matter. The way in which the hosts made negative characterizations about the motives and intentions of a public figure without adequately supporting the characterization with objective facts is also problematic. Ultimately I feel this channel is capable of doing better than this and I look forward to seeing it grows and does better in the future. PS: If your hosts were willing to make the same claims directly to the man’s face. I’d be willing to show up for that. Would they be willing to say the same thing directly to the person they’re talking about?
One distinction seems pretty important here. Emily plausibly suggests that people like Vance, Deneen, and Vermeule might not think of the Constitution as a sacred text. That’s not the same thing as believing that the end justifies the means, per se. Serious Catholics believe in multiple moral absolutes. There’s no reason a serious Catholic would have to think provisions of the Constitution were or embodied these sorts of absolutes, but a serious Catholic might well think that, whatever the Constitution, there were all sorts of things it would be wrong to do under any circumstances.
The truth is literally written down in their Project 2025 book 😂 Trump can't outrun it & he's going to lose partly because of it. Unfortunately it doesn't end with Trump. Once he loses they'll put it on the next Republican nominee. Hopefully that helps them lose too.
Part of the issue is that true Conservatives seem to genuinely not understand leftist politics at all. In 2020 when Trump would accuse Biden of being part of the "radical left," I just assumed he was saying it performatively in a tongue-in-cheek kind of way. But as I've listened to more and more Conservative media over the past four years, there's no question that many of these people really genuinely DO think Biden and Harris are extremely far left (Marxist even). To those of us on the REAL progressive left, this type of rhetoric is always hilarious bc we all know that Biden and Harris are nothing more than center-right establishment neoliberals. Not only are they NOT radical leftists or Marxists, they're not even in the same solar system as the real progressive left.
It's all culture war now. When conservatives say marxist they're talking about transgenders in girls sports. When was the last time universal healthcare was even a major issue, 2016? Biden did anti-trust, if Trump is elected he will crack down on unionization. But nobody is going to care. New conservatives are calling for a Caesar to take power, to save America from groomers and immigrants. Funded by silicon valley billionaires like Peter Thiel, and Elon Musk who want lower taxes and to destroy "woke socialism".
Kamala was the most “progressive” member of Congress when she was a Senator. Left of Bernie Sanders. If you don’t think that’s left enough, you’re ignoring the data.
@@rdf4ta927 She talked a good game, but other than co-sponsoring a ceremonial universal health care bill that had no chance of passing, she actually didn't do much to advance the progressive agenda while in the Senate. And sure enough, now that she's a breath from the White House, her domestic agenda is nothing more than center-left & her foreign policy is center-right. Lots of centrist Dems like to claim they're progressive, but talk - action = shit.
I mean what did Obama do policy wise to help the economy other than fixing the recession hardship in the Midwest saving auto factories in 2009? Biden has the chips act, and inflation act.

He used power with things he really cared about but left a lot of things up to the states. Was phenomenal with foreign policy. I mean people can’t deny that he really understands how to deal with those guys. Remember he was going to start WW 3?
There was a vote, the party's slated electors voted. This is just like our current system for president. You don't actually vote for president; you vote to tell electors to vote - yet they can actually vote different than you. A few states have laws to limit and/or assign punitive consequences but they can still split their vote.

Trump did give a speech at an NRA meeting he could be considered a three-term president if he clinches a wins in November and with SCOTUS in his pocket and combine with his other slip if they vote for him this November, "in four years, you don't have to vote again. We'll have it fixed so good, you're not gonna have to vote." Trump himself is giving lots of people pause for voting for a potential dictator
Maybe because Vance could run and he said he would not have certified the election like Mike Pence did? 🤷🏻♂️ maybe because Trump said he deserved a right for a 3rd term? Maybe because it tells something about trump general character and what he might to in other situation? Maybe because he did not pay enough of a price for it and should not be “pardon” by winning a new term?

Emily is a bit lacking in depth and breadth it seems. I’ve listened to many of her interviews. Once she’s outside of her own spaces, she struggles a bit.
Yes the degradation of this show has been precipitous.

There was a vote, the party's slated electors voted. This is just like our current system for president. You don't actually vote for president; you vote to tell electors to vote - yet they can actually vote different than you.
A few states have laws to limit and/or assign punitive consequences but they can still split their vote.

This is the party that while claiming the GOP will end democracy (nevermind that we live in a constitutional republic) for years has done everything in their power since at least HRC ran to ensure they fix the primaries or, as was the case this year, not even have one. Delegates couldn’t have selected anyone bc they weren’t given any other choices. Time and time again anyone who even tries to run against the party pick gets shutdown with the help of media, big tech and corporate money. The fact you are trying to excuse this or explain it shows your part of the problem. You’ve accepted these circumstances and bought into the lies of lesser evils and saving democracy for the establishment who couldn’t care less about voters.
@@Rationalityislost101 What you don't understand is that while there were people that were TOLD to abstain and did, there were others that were running in the primary despite what the party heads wanted. They were blacklisted from the media (except to bad mouth them) and their names taken off ballots in some states. Check Florida for an example. So, the people in the party weren't given a choice. Which gave you Biden, who everyone else didn't want and said was to old. Once proven right the same happened with Harris. Obama was right. There should have been an open primary.
