In German we call it "Von sich selbst auf andere schließen". (basically "basing assumptions about others on what you yourself are like"/projecting/assuming everybody has a shitty personality just because you have one)
Almost every episode featuring Trump or voting systems leaves me thinking: it's been nice knowing you, America. Even though it hasn't been that nice at all. And the effects of the USA bowing to the tinfoil hat are felt in my county too.
@@riotbreaker3506 indeed (in Italy there was a comical character called Tafazzi that soon came to represent the left wing, look it up and you will get the idea lmao)
I'm always befuddled by the American systems.... In Germany, every citizen is automatically eligible to vote. No additional registration required. You'll get mail with details about the voting location before the voting day, and you have the bring the letter with your state issued ID to the voting place. And most importantly, the longest time I ever waited at a voting place was 2 minutes. The fact that Americans have to wait for around 8 hours is the most glaring proof that the US voting system is massively flawed.
The main reason, i think, is that in Germany you need to have a fixed place where you live, and tell the state (Meldebestätigung etc); so the state can automatically and efficiently tell you where you have to vote, where your children go to school etc. In the us you can just move to a different state and not tell anybody (land of the free etc) - which means the state doesn't know anything about you until you tell it - by registering, which then gives you the right to vote where you register.
It's by design I'm afraid. Republicans in the US aren't dumb, it benefits them when less can vote (especially in cities). It's why they have been against making voting a national holiday, why they are against making Puerto Rico a state, etc.
I have become a citizen in July of this year and last week cast my first ballot! Despite getting letters of "we have records you're not a citizen, it's a felony" despite being registered, I cast my first vote ever in my life at age of 32 (was too young when I left my home country). I'm doing my part!
I think it's much worse than that. Most people that they are disenfranchising can't stop working just to be able to go in front of a board or judge to declare that they exist. There is a real possibility of losing your job and it is not worth the risk. And if the boss is in opposition / politically to the employer who this happened to, they won't permit them to go without the risk of losing their job. The lady in the video must've had a boss that agreed with her political view or else, they wouldn't be so considerate and in fact, might threaten with dismissal.
Indeed, and it makes it so hard to want to "listen to the other side" when you have to constantly fact check every single thing they say, only to discover so many of their arguments are backed by exaggerations or just straight up lies. If their concerns for our nation were truly warranted they wouldn't need to rely on so many fallacies to promote their agendas.
I was delighted to find that my local county election also chose to go with a child's design for the 'I voted' sticker. This one has an alligator with a hat and sunglasses, chilling on a pool floatie with a drink that's probably sweet tea. Probably. I think the design rates up there with the voting werewolf.
Wow I love that, let's have a review and vote for the stickers we like best and let the designer chose the president. That makes about as much sense as the EC.
I had no idea this was a widespread thing, but I'm glad it is. I was so happy to see that my local sticker wasn't the boring old "I Voted" flag, but was instead a child's drawing of a cute, smiling, very plump frog sitting in the middle of a large pink daisy with "I Voted" bubble letters above it. The frog is so simple in its design but so damn adorable with its closed eyes, squiggly mouth, little round feet, and chubby body. Not quite as badass as a Hulk-ing werewolf or a chill-ass gator, but it wins the Cute Award in my book.
For some good news: a judge blocked those new hand counting norms in Georgia, saying they were unreasonable and that they are obligated to certify the election results in time
I am a Georgia Poll worker. You left out another rule they passed that prohibits us from leaving the building. So we get there at 5:30am and the polls close at 7pm. In the primary we only had 81 ballots and we didn't leave until 9:30pm. Now if we could leave the building, say to get off of our feet and rest in our car, the closing would be a lot smoother. I'm 60 and I'm the second yougest person in my precinct. I'm not sure if you are unfamiliar with old people, but we tend to wear down after being on our feet for 16 hours. Oh, and the pay is $200.
It took me all of five minutes to find “Nancy” from Denton on the Internet, and of course she lives in the comfort & security of a gated community on a golf course, but she also gets to enjoy her anonymity while getting real Texans removed from the voter rolls, and never has to face the fallout of her actions. That is extremely unacceptable to me. What a coward she is.
Thank you my fellow Texan. We need Texans be protected from bad faith actors like that “Nancy”. I’m an Arlingtonian and I’ve been checking my voter registration everyday just incase I’ve been purged.
Gore won FL in 2000 s the recount proved. Fox called FL for W but knew Gore had won. Other news agencies called it for Gore. SCOTUS stripped Florida's right to vote and the loser was appointed, 9/11 followed, as did Katrina, and a fake Iraq war that killed 5000 US, 500,000 Iraqis, cost 5 trillion, but got W a carrier landing photo-op and 2 SCOTUS seats...Pro-lifers! Who are now killing women with miscarriages by denying them D&Cs.
It's only close in the polls and polls don't vote. Look at Georgia early-voter turnout yesterday! No Democrats are talking to pollsters or if they do, their answers are not included in the final data.
Might have something to do with FOX news constantly lying to them every day. How it's not illegal to straight up lie and say the election was stolen as a news org is wild to me. Thanks Ronald Reagan. Who needs fairness in media anyways.

Went to vote in the primary in 2020 to find out they had transferred my birthdate incorrectly. How convenient. It took me two times to get it corrected. I think they hope you will just get frustrated and not vote. 🥴

Hand counting perspective… I’m a high school teacher that was in charge of SCA and this homecoming voting for 7 years in a school of about 1200 kids. My SCA would hand count ballots for homecoming King and Queen as well as each class representative. EVERY YEAR I would have 4 of my oldest and most trustworthy kids count in teams of two. They would get a different count EVERY YEAR. I would then count them twice and two years I had to do a third count because even I didn’t match myself! I had no biases against any of the kids and as a chemistry teacher, I enjoy numbers and tedious counting. lol. The hand counting for a whole nation will be a crap show.
I don't really understand how that is so difficult over there. Here we have sometimes 3 elections at the same time, so 3 different ballots have to be sorted, counted, verified. The election places close at 6pm, at 10pm we have a first estimation with accuracy of max +-2% or so and the next morning the election is settled. And we have over 80 Mio people here. Voter fraud is nonexistent (statistically) I participated 3 times myself, one is designated randomly to support and the task is also designated randomly
On the other hand most other countries do hand-count and with redundancy (which you need anyway since people from all major parties want to check) it works just fine.
@@Taladar2003 I would definitely not say "most". Some do, but usually only for correction, on a recount, or from a sample of like 1% alongside machines . And even if this was true, it doesn't "work just fine" since there are numerous studies published that very clearly show that due to the repetitive nature of the job, hand counting is objectively more error-prone than automatic counting.
@@Taladar2003if someone is truly hand counting thousands of ballots in a short period of time, they are going to be off. Our brains are not equipped to do a repetitive task like that for that long. Yes, most hand counts are working fine, as most elections do not come down to just a few votes, so being off by a few does not matter. The bigger point is that a hand count is much worse than having a computer keep count as they do not get tired and make mistakes. The only time you want a hand count is doing a recount, and that typically takes weeks and involves additional checks so that mistakes are minimized.
EXACTLY. It's not about what happened last election nor this one. What's inevitably coming in 8-16 years will determine everyone's reality. Hitler tried the same thing in Germany in the 1920's and got a relative slap on the wrist which was still FAR more severe than what Trump has gotten! And now Trump is coming out and literally quoting Hitler with some of his rhetoric. History repeating itself and the media is largely ignoring it for a few more clicks.
Anyone challenging voting registrations should be required to show up to each hearing and defend their claims. I bet that would stop those people dead in their tracks, because there's no way any of them would show up to 100s of hearings.
that's a great idea. easily reasonable in debate and it would totally stop them. That would be hundreds of days, even if there is up to 10 hearings per day that would be more than 120 days
In case you don't remember, Cleta Mitchell was on the call with Trump and the officials from Georgia asking them to FIND 11, 799 votes. She should be in PRISON, not leading a campaign to disenfranchise tens of thousands of LEGAL AMERICAN citizens from voting. Republicans know they LOSE elections with higher turnouts.
I'm a Democrat but registered Republican. For two reasons: 1.) I live in a Republican county, and we always elect Republicans in our government. So the only way I can effectively choose a candidate is to be able to vote in the Republican primary (worked this year to get rid of our Trump endorsed county executive). 2.) I'm sure the Republicans won't purge members of their own party from the voting rolls, so I think I'm pretty safe from that.

In my county in Texas last election, we had a poll watcher that got arrested then made a big deal about how she was being silenced for trying to document fraud. She pulled her phone out during counting, which they're not supposed to do, then refused to put it away or leave when asked. So they called the police. The big scandal was the room was too small to see everything going on. She took her picture of nothing incriminating, then made them have her arrested, only to cry fowl about it after. The best comment was when trump says "mental institutions" when he heard the word "asylum" being used. In this context that doesn't relate to mental institutions when people are seeking political asylum. Trump does this ALL THE TIME. He hears something and regurgitates that information without due-diligence. It's embarrassing.

I'm a poll worker in California. This year, at our training session, two people loudly proclaimed they was there because they thought the 2020 election was stolen. Most of the rest of the room just kinda looked at each other uneasily and moved on. Unsurprisingly, they were involved in a lot of the more annoying "But what if?!" questions about people trying to vote twice. I'm deeply worried about this. Are they going to be quietly turning away voters on election day if they don't have someone more responsible keeping an eye on them? And if this is happening in a solidly blue part of California, what's going on in the rest of the country?
As a person who lives in a red district, it's terrifyingly worse, and we have no checks on the unhinged conspiratorial lunatics skulking in our electrical process.

I live in El Paso, TX. I have voted for 18 years and all of sudden, I am not registered to vote. Texas intentionally has a confusing voter registration. If you go online, you fill everything out and press submit. And you think wow-that’s easy. WRONG. You have to PRINT out the form and then mail it in. I guarantee there’s many Texans that hit submit that think they’re registered to vote and they’re not. I was like nope, I’m going to my county election office to verify… I guess… me?! The election office is on the 3rd or 4th floor and is so hard to find. When I got there, the lady is like-you can do it online, you didn’t have to come in. I told her-I’ve been registered and have been voting for 18 years for local, state, and federal elections. No. I’m coming in person to fix this. There were 3 others there for the same reason. What’s going on El Paso?! The six people that are challenging voting should not be protected from retaliation. They should be held accountable for attempting to take away my right to vote.
Well, internet can't verify the validity of your claim of citizenship. You have to show a valid document to an authorized person in order to be registered to vote. Just like going to the bank. Or the doctor's
Thank you for talking about Ken Paxton and his investigation into LULAC. They've been attacked so many times. We have a chapter on my university campus in Texas and they've been harassed for just existing. Our state has a massive Hispanic population (because we literally used to be a part of Mexico) and they face so much discrimination.
I was thinking about the Hispanic population of TX when the Fox reporter was talking about all those "immigrants" at the "DMV". I suspect many or most were born here. I don't know, but I doubt her friend's wife did a proper survey of them. It just seemed like a racist assumption.
Yes, it doesn’t get mentioned a lot, but one of the reasons various parts of the US have so many Mexican immigrants is that we swiped much of their best land from them. And populated it largely with folks like me that came from much further away, whether it be the Northeastern US or across the pond. It’s a little hard to hear white folks like me or Paxton telling Hispanic people to “get off our lawn,” so to speak. Our lawn?

Our first day in my state for Early Voting was yesterday. I made it about ten minutes before the polls closed (was driving from work). I strongly encourage everyone to vote as early as possible this year. The longer you wait, the more likely you will encounter shenanigans. The real crazy will happen on Election Day. Don't wait that long, if you can help it.
I vote on election day only bc I'm waiting for some dumb shit to throw out all early or mail in votes(yes I know I'm paranoid but I'm in texas) I'm also in the middle of nowhere and it takes 5 minutes.
@@diannere5689 same! I genuinely thank the people who volunteer for elections but I don't want my ballot to fall into the hands of a person like Nancy. I also don't want it thrown out due to some clerical nonsense that I can't dispute.
Can I just applaud the folks in Georgia who SET A NEW RECORD for early voting! Remember, if you haven't voted yet, the more spaced-out the ballots are the less strain there will be on election officials and the sooner we will have results. I appreciate y'all so much, and hope this is the start of a trend. Remember, the higher turnout is and the sooner all ballots are counted, the sooner we can have results (and goodness knows NO ONE wants this to go on for any longer than it has to).
I was scared I'd make a mistake on my absentee ballot or it wouldn't get to me in time since it happened before. So I'm planning on going to early voting next Wednesday or Thursday when it opens so I can pick the best time for me to go when I'm not hurting as much. I've already had to drag my aching but down to the polls once & I don't want to do that again especially this busy year. Plus they didn't even have anywhere to sit down like they're supposed to but the election board early voting location immediately asked if I needed somewhere to sit down. Luckily I didn't that day though. Although if it has been a long line I probably would. I think I'll take my stool chair with me this year just in case. Because if I don't it will probably be a long line.
Bravo for making a plan, that sounds miserable. My state put through mail-in voting before it became a partisan thing, I hope the other states implement it soon, it's ridiculous that you have to go through all that just to have your vote counted.
I'm not sure it works that way, not in every state anyway. I'm not sure early votes get counted before election day. I know some states (pretty sure GA was one of them) are not allowed to count mail-in votes until after all in-person votes have been counted on election day.
@@beenaplumber8379 fair, I forget how ridiculous some states are. It's kind of common knowledge here that the more people get their ballots in early, the sooner we'll have results on election night. That said, I looked it up, and 43 states will start PROCESSING mail-in ballots before election day, even if the actual counting has to wait until election day, which still means less last-minute strain on the poll-workers. Apparently Georgia won't start counting mail-in ballots until 7am on election day, but they can do other processing beginning at "8 a.m. on the third Monday before Election Day", because US election law has to be as weird and arcane as possible.
@@CatHasOpinions734 Well, that's a little better than I thought it was. Maybe I'm remembering another state... These weird election laws are decided by each state because that's what the US constitution says. States choose the manner of their elections, so the weird rules in GA were made by GA, and the weird rules here in MN were made by us weird people of MN. I really don't like that because there is a federal interest in protecting each citizen's right to vote, but the only federal authority to police that is the judicial system, and they can't act unless somebody sues somebody, and it takes forever, by which time it's years too late to give a voter back the vote they were denied during the last election.
It's not that they won't see it, it's that they are all told that it's all just fake news. You have to remember, who these people are. th-cam.com/video/KHJbSvidohg/w-d-xo.html

That lady isn't self aware and she chose to go on television and spread her hateful idea, instead.
Here is the thing. Non-citizens cannot register to vote. How could they, when you have to show PROOF OF CITIZENSHIP when you register? When I registered to vote, it was at the same time I got my driver's license - you know - that time when you HAVE TO SHOW YOUR BIRTH CERTIFICATE TO GET ONE.
And even if they somehow got registered--why would they risk everything to cast one vote out of millions when we can't even get election turnout of citizens above 70%?
We have an annoying twist on that one in Oregon, the DMV did register non-citizens to vote. We have a state law that allows non-citizens to get driver's licenses (helps with ID, insurance, etc), but then we have another law that automatically registers license/ID applicants to vote. System was supposed to filter out non-citizens from registering, but the DMV found a system flaw that was registering some non-citizens automatically, with the tally being about 1300 non-citizens placed on the official voter rolls. Investigation showed only 9 of those people had actually voted so obviously it didn't undermine the validity of any elections, but... you can imagine the saliva pouring out of Maria Bartiromo's mouth when she and the rest of her Faux friends hear of it.
Same with the argument of people who don’t pay taxes signing up for social aid programs. Do MAGAs really think those people are gonna risk wading through that bureaucratic swamp, just to try and get identified as themselves; identities the IRS knows belong to people that aren’t paying taxes?!?! If, somehow, they do pull off such a paper-riddled miracle while also slipping by the IRS’s vengeful gaze undetected? Honestly, hats off to them, they’ve earned it. The time it took certainly wouldn’t have been worth the measly payout, and with each successive payout they’d have to cross their fingers and hope that the Sword of Damocles that is the IRS won’t come down with it, for the rest of their lives. Anyone willing to try that is too stupid to actually pull it off. And anyone who’s been able to escape the IRS’s wrath long-term isn’t stupid (though neither are they wise).
If you're in a country illegally and you'd like to stay there, one of the things you don't do is register to vote. Why would these people risk their position just to vote? Staggeringly stupid.
If someone challenges your registration like that, interfering with your ability for participation in democracy... can you sue them for violating your rights?
Of course, it's the #1 priority--cross illegally into a country and spend 6 hours in line to cast one vote out of 10s of thousands--it could be the one that makes a difference. And for the Democratic candidate 100% of the time. (The #2 priority is to outbid some white family on a 3 bedroom home in suburbia, I mean destitute immigrants are the cause of the housing affordability crisis, without a doubt)
Ah that explains why my mom, who has been registered since she was 18 (now 66), got a letter saying her right to vote was revoked and she needs to reapply.
Tell your mom to contact the federal election commission and file a lawsuit against the state. It is illegal to purge voter rolls after 45 days to election day
Slight edits because i didnt see what video comment this was. Thought it was somewhere else lol @bwofficial1776 yes, but the SoS already does that. This is wide spread across the nation challenges by people looking to suppress votes. It is a disturbing trend. You have the ability to peruse the lists of registered voters and file challenges. This, to me, explained why after almost 50 years and periods of owning two properties and moving a few times, and then settling down for 35 years at an address that has never had a different owner as it was a land sale and custom built house and has never been up for sale, she suddenly lost her right to vote. No call for clarification or explanation, just right before an election taking her right to vote away. If they periodically refresh the system, it would make more sense for them to reach out about anomalies, not just straight drop the person's right to vote that they have had for almost 50 years. Her two addresses are only 1.5 hours apart. In the same state. The only thing on the ballot this would impact are the county specifics.
@bwofficial1776 Okay my first comment vanished so let me respond again. If you end up with 2 responses, I apologize. My mom is 66. She was told that she lost her right to vote because she had two addresses. She has, since registering to vote when she was eighteen, owned a few homes moved a few times, and at some points had a rental property that she used for extra income. In the last five years, she's bought a cottage, sold that cottage, and then bought another cottage that she's working on refurbishing to retire into once my father retires. Her current address, she has lived at for thirty-five years. She bought the land and had the house built. She has never put this house up for sale. It has never been owned by anyone else. But she's also an immigrant. She moved here from Germany with her mother when she was four years old. She is an American citizen, but her maiden name is a german name. By the way, the cottages, homes, and everything she has owned are all in Michigan. Her new cottage, which got her right to vote taken away, is only 1.5 hours away from where she currently lives. So the only thing on the ballot that would change would be the county-specific voting sections. I have had two addresses at a few points in my life. I straight up changed my address to a Lansing address when going to Lansing community college. And then changed it back to my parents' house when I was done. I moved four hours away from my parents to northern lower Michigan. I changed my address up here. I have never been removed from my right to vote. My name and everything is born in America.
@@bwofficial1776 no it isn't. Not so late. There should be no voter rolls. All people should be AUTOMATICALLY registered and then sent a mail informing them and when and where to come. Man, I have a theory, hear me out: John’s criticism of Israel in the war with Gaza in the last season last year had to be punished by WBD by orders of the IDF. That implied by deliberately delaying the show’s main story to be uploaded to TH-cam until Thursday and filled with ads, at least in the beginning. Otherwise, how do you explain Bill Maher’s smugness and authoritarian hasbara-splaining against Palestinians and “social justice warriors” and his simping towards Israel because he is an islamophobe. It’s why his clips and “new rules” are posted right after his show ends on Friday and no ads whatsoever. I believe John’s predicting his show is being canceled soon despite being an all-time Emmy winner, which is why he is buying the broadcast rights of past seasons to upload them to his TH-cam Channel for archiving purposes; and if Trump wins, the show could be guaranteed to be canceled, making comedy to be only used to punch down, not up, because we’re having an American version of Gustavo Diaz-Ordaz.
That's why they're releasing it later. It used to be available the next day (or sometimes in the hours immediately after). But thanks WBD quintiliion-ing down on Max, they delayed the upload of these until Thursday.
If you’re in Ohio, it’s so very important to vote Yes on Issue 1! Our state is currently crushed by gerrymandering, where Republicans, despite only winning the presidential election 53% to 45% in 2020, currently control the Ohio House with a 68% supermajority and the Ohio Senate with a 79% supermajority. If Issue 1 passes, it’ll stop the current Ohio politicians from rigging statewide elections in their favor
Republicans did not win the 2020 presidential election. By any percentage margin. In any way whatsoever. Republicans lost the electoral college and the popular vote in the 2020 presidential election.
vote yes on issue one! It could not be more important with all of the underhanded BS that the state legislature has tried to pass. When they found out we had enough signatures to put a constitutional amendment in place to protect abortion rights they tried to pass a law that upped the required percentage and sought to disqualify further ballet initiatives by making it harder to even get to be able to vote on it. Thankfully Ohioans came out in droves to shut it down. They pulled similar tactics with legalizing marijuana both when it went through for medical and later for recreational. Far too many in Ohio politics are there for themselves and do not care about the average Ohioan. If they did they wouldn't try to deny the existence of a 10-year-old rape victim who had to flee the state to get the reproductive care she needed.
In Utah they removed all the homeless people from registration because their "home" addresses were businesses and street corners. Which is what they're legally required to use when they register and don't have a home address. The only way for them to reregister is in person on voting day with a provisional ballot.
News story title and the name of the news organization, please. I can use a search engine to find the article if you give me the title, but searching utah voter rolls, utah homeless voter rolls, utah removes homeless from voter rolls - none of these are returning results matching what you've said. Instead, I've found articles like "Experiencing homelessness? You can still vote in Utah. Here’s how" from kuer 90.1 that talk about registration requirements.

Same here in the Netherlands, except longest I had to wait was 20 min (it was at the moment when most people got of from work).
Republicans know that they lose when more people vote, so they try to ensure that the fewest number of people can. It's horrible and we hate it.
The USA is full of contradictions. There's a laundry list.

Its the Russian government doctrine
I think it's much worse than that. Most people that they are disenfranchising can't stop working just to be able to go in front of a board or judge to declare that they exist. There is a real possibility of losing your job and it is not worth the risk. And if the boss is in opposition / politically to the employer who this happened to, they won't permit them to go without the risk of losing their job. The lady in the video must've had a boss that agreed with her political view or else, they wouldn't be so considerate and in fact, might threaten with dismissal.
And now they're using crooked police departments to intimidate anyone who may not vote their way.
As someone voting in Michigan this year, I'll be PISSED if I don't get that werewolf sticker

I hope you get that sticker! You deserve it.
Seriously I do like the idea of seeing stickers from all states
I love art
I had no idea this was a widespread thing, but I'm glad it is. I was so happy to see that my local sticker wasn't the boring old "I Voted" flag, but was instead a child's drawing of a cute, smiling, very plump frog sitting in the middle of a large pink daisy with "I Voted" bubble letters above it. The frog is so simple in its design but so damn adorable with its closed eyes, squiggly mouth, little round feet, and chubby body.
Not quite as badass as a Hulk-ing werewolf or a chill-ass gator, but it wins the Cute Award in my book.

Hand counting perspective…
I’m a high school teacher that was in charge of SCA and this homecoming voting for 7 years in a school of about 1200 kids.
Voter fraud is nonexistent (statistically)
I participated 3 times myself, one is designated randomly to support and the task is also designated randomly
That's the point. They want to sow doubt and chaos as much as possible right before the election.

Same w nm, az, tx,ca
Somehow Texas keeps forgetting that their Hispanic community predates their being a part of the US at all
I was thinking about the Hispanic population of TX when the Fox reporter was talking about all those "immigrants" at the "DMV".
Our lawn?
@@jimwilliams3816 So what do you think about American Indian land? Who does that belong to? Just an illustration that there are no simple answers, but the most fair answer might be the one that we can't bear to contemplate. (I think we should at least give back the Black Hills.)

How long until "Davis" is declared an ethnic surname on Fox News? 3... 2...1... now.
I guess I gotta vote for Trump earlier 😂
I vote on election day only bc I'm waiting for some dumb shit to throw out all early or mail in votes(yes I know I'm paranoid but I'm in texas) I'm also in the middle of nowhere and it takes 5 minutes.

As one commenter said, John Oliver is a national treasure. No England, you *can’t* have him back, he’s one of us now! And I agree, 1000% 🥰

"But Fox News said...." - every Trumpist I know
Some states like Oregon and Washington let non citizens vote in local elections. I think Rs use that to twist the narrative
John Oliver is a treasure. I'm so grateful he's helping us save our democracy.
If you're in a country illegally and you'd like to stay there, one of the things you don't do is register to vote. Why would these people risk their position just to vote? Staggeringly stupid.

Ah that explains why my mom, who has been registered since she was 18 (now 66), got a letter saying her right to vote was revoked and she needs to reapply.
Tell your mom to contact the federal election commission and file a lawsuit against the state. It is illegal to purge voter rolls after 45 days to election day
That's a good thing, periodically refreshing the voter rolls.
Slight edits because i didnt see what video comment this was. Thought it was somewhere else lol
@bwofficial1776 yes, but the SoS already does that.

"Every accusation is an admission"
"If you tell the truth you don't need a good memory" - judge judy frequently says this one :) because when people lie to her, they often quickly (and accidentally) contradict their story, and you can tell they are lying.
@@Nate-.- Judge Judy was a staged reality show. Not a good example to use.....
Jane is an inspiration to us all and makes me proud to be a Michigander 🗣️🔥🦅
I live in a swing state and became a US citizen recently. I'll vote for the only competent candidate (Harris). I am happy to help make her the first women president of my new country.
Congrats on becoming a US citizen!

Not getting stickers is the one thing i hate about voting by mail :(
they should send you one!
Really??? I voted by mail and I got one (I'm a California voter). That's so odd... any way you can get one?
I know for a fact they send them by mail with your ballot in CA and WA
You can have mine. 😂
Well I guess you just live in a shitty state. California sends you a sticker.
Holy shit that sticker. HOLY SHIT THAT STICKER! That kid is a damn legend.
I had to comeback to this video to talk about the Michigan sticker. I finally got it. I waited today to vote in person to get the sticker.
That elderly woman should sue...it was unconstitutional search and abuse of power. I would volunteer to sit on the jury.
Supreme Court decided that the police are required to allow you to gather clothes to get dressed in addition to certain small items during arrest.
Who could forget the CyberNinjas? Jordan Klepper did a great piece on them. He mocked them to their faces.
Even better? They eventually found that the current President won by even MORE votes.
I remember the Ninjas, and how they delayed their final verdict because it didn't jibe with the Maga hopes and dreams of finding fraud. It inspired this doggerel:
They had a deadline but still came up short;
letting us in on their progress report.
That's a mistake, but give them a break!
They had a stolen election to thwart! 😄
As someone that does live in Arizona, I kind of did. To be fair, things were so crazy the last few years, can you realky blame me for forgetting?
@@crazyluigi6664 I want to forget
I check my voter registration every month when I pay rent. I was challenged when someone made a clerical error and entered Ft. instead of Fort for my city. This is getting ridiculous.
I live in Michigan and just voted, made sure to grab that sick werewolf sticker.
I want one!!!
Watching this from Switzerland, it scares me to see American democracy and the people's right to vote being dismantled piece by piece in a way that is happening in countries on their way to dictatorship.
We're not a democracy and never have been. We're a republic. A dictatorship is a valid form of government. Dictators get stuff done.
Well, be more neutral about it. After all Swiss neutrality has and is part of how every Dictatorship, oligarchy, and autocracy stays alive and well laundering funds through you folks.
Although the constitution gives states the job of running elections, surely there's a way for congress to set some basic guidelines to protect our right to vote at the same time their investigating SC justices.
I wonder if in your country you can vote without valid ID….
@@lucianciuperca4955 in my country, all citizens are registered for voting by default. no need specifically register. so we don't have this kind of weird thing where anyone could try to keep you from voting if you have the right to vote. and we vote on various regional and national topics every three months. so we also don't have this weird climax every four years where everyone goes crazy. voting is essentially just daily business in our direct democracy over here.
