I severely damaged the fins on my 550 by running a hard vacuum (not a brush head) over them. Hoping that a fin comb will straighten those, and compressed air will handle the rest of the dust. Great tip. Wish me luck!

I use an inspection mirror to look around the corner into the condenser because it's perpendicular to the view from the outside and cannot be seen to determine the level of dust accumulated inside of it. Also I use a vacuum cleaner on the downstream side as I blow into the unit. It's important to clean the dust out once or twice a year. It will improve the efficiency of the system.

My 650 (2004) is only cooling to about 45*-55* as of a few days ago (set for 37*). Freezer is the temp it is set to. Going to clean this as a first step.

That didn't look like it was very dirty. At least not dirty enough to keep the fridge from cooling. I bought a used 611 a year ago and when I got it home I blew it out and dear God it was as if someone tore a hole in a vacuum cleaner bag and blew it around. I did it outside at least but now it's all for naught. First the freezer stopped freezing and just now the fridge has stopped cooling. Wish you were here

I've got a 561. I clean my condenser yearly. It's run trouble free for 15 years. Bought it at a thrift store. It fits perfectly in my tiny kitchen.

I use the vacuum cleaner to sweep out the dust.
I am careful around the coils.
Also you should wash the grated cover in soapy water. Rinse well.
