The error code was not 34 that’s the temperature of the refrigerator cabinet. The two error codes were EC 40 and EC 20. EC 40 means long refrigerator run time, which stems from the warm cabinet frame resulting from the failed condenser fan motor. EC 20 means freezer evaporator defrost under heat. You are correct to ignore it, because this particular run of 600 series left the factory with that error already logged in the memory. It’s also unlikely that the freezer cabinet would be 0°f if your evaporator weren’t defrosting. Although by turning it off you do remove the service light, it does not remove the errors from memory. You can clear all errors by holding down the bell button until you hear a beep. Good luck!
