hopefully, but it's hard since the console has been in the market since november 2012, and has sold like 4 million units, and the ps4 has been out like 4-5 months and has sold like 7 million units
Allie-RX Both have been out for over a year now, if they haven't had a market made for them yet, there will never be a market for them made. Both are widely considered a commercial failure and sinking any more money into the dying portable consoles would be asinine. Both companies are moving on to bigger and better things; trust me.
The Vita is a great system. Its a failure in terms of how many people have bought it, but it has a strong attach rate and is a quite profitable system to develop for. Well, at least developers that make games for it say that.
I have one, but it doesn't have many good games, and has some expensive things. At least Sony made a 2nd one, and most games are cheaper than 3DS games
FunGi Games Persona 4 Golden Fez Spelunky LBP Vita Guacamelee Tearaway TxK Gravity Rush Danganronpa: Trigger Happy Havoc ...to name a few. ;) In all fairness, it seems to have only really boomed in games terms really recently though, and that seems to have come too late... I don't even have a Vita :L
Deadshot Studios There are no Halo games coming out in the future. The only thing on its way is Call of Crysisfield 8 but I sure as hell am not buying an entire console to play that garbage, especially after Call of Crysisfield 7: Master Chief Goes to Cybertron was a complete trainwreck and espcecially since that "console" is a glorified cable box. Plus I can get Titanfall on PC so that's not a selling point for me
I want to buy a PS Vita for a couple of reasons: -PSP games can be downloaded there. -I'm a weebo. The PS Vita has some good anime related titles like Danganronpa, Persona 4 Golden among some others. -Tearaway. I've been interested in that since it's released. -I'm a weebo.
Actually, I liked the Vita. Mainly because most of their games are ports from PS3, and I don't have that console. And it does have some great games...But a really small number. Like Persona 4 Golden. Best fucking RPG I've played far.
I have a PSV and I have to say it's *REALLY* underrated.. I have had a PS2. PS3, PSP, PSV and the PSV has to be my favorite tied with PS3. It's so awesome and you can buy simple games like FIFA, Minecraft, Assassins Creed, and much more, and apps including TH-cam, Skype, Twitter etc. And all on the go! It's absolutely perfect for travel. My PS Vita is my baby :D
its not really something they would put on this list, that's a console. It was a fail but it failed as a console. not its own way like the crash of 1983. thanks Atari.
ShortyMoneyTV I have to disagree, its graphics lower the possibilities... don't get me wrong, I don't care about how many bits there are but it just lowers the actual possibilities it could do
Well, at least the Wii U is redeeming itself with Mario Kart 8, Smash Bros. Bayonetta 2, X and many, many more!! :D Still mad about the Vita. I bought one, and only played two games! LittleBigPlanet and Teraway. Doesn't justifies the Memory Cards and Price Tag. Maybe it will redeem itself too! :D
The PS Vita has a pretty good library of games and is fun. The focus of it may be a bit off, but remote play with the PS4 is a great idea, it honestly doesn't deserve to be on the list.
There are a few boneheaded business decisions that made me facepalm: 1) Microsoft buying Rare and it's franchises from Nintendo 2) Activision buying the Crash Bandicoot and Spyro franchises, not only that, Universal Interactive forced Sony, Naughty Dog and Insomniac to give up the Crash and Spyro franchises if they didn't want to, which sucks and in the end, is all Universal Interactive's fault
mywlan2 I'm sorry but to my opinion, Sierra have killed these two franchises when they released Crash of the Titans, Mind over Mutant and The Legend of Spyro series, THESE GAMES SUCK, I did not like them. I'm also just stating that it is 100% very unnecessary for a video game company and/or franchise(s) to be bought out by another company and the franchises have not been the same, and what's worse about Spyro, Activision has been making Skylanders which I've never payed attention to. -_-
mywlan2 P.S. If you find Crash of the Titans, Mind over Mutant and The Legend of Spyro trilogy good games, don't worry, I won't be immature with your opinion by being a fool, judge, and start any unreasonable flame wars.
SuperSonicKazooie did u really have to write 4 long comments to responce 1 comment? also skylanders is just made to milk money with nothing creative or great about those other than the really expensive gimmick.
Poor Nintendo they day single handedly bring back the market but today's generation totally hates them. Now smartphones are over saturating the market with crap and AAA budgets wipe out publishers a crash is coming
except not really. You forget yourself sir. Nintendo's DS and 3DS line is the best selling portable system on the market. Plus need I remind you that when Nintendo (albiet working with Game Freak) realeased Pokemon X and Y it sold more units than the total of PS Vita units ever sold? Nintendo has plenty of games that people go crazy over (Zelda, Pikmin, ANY Mario game, Metroid, etc.) and the company is known for both succesfull and not-so much innovations. The latter less common. Which is why Nintendo can literally last over A DOZEN YEARS without making profit and still exist. Also while the Wii U is almost a failure, people still are buying Wii games, why? Because the Wii is a great system. This generation does not HATE Nintendo, lord no. This generation LOVES Nintendo, just Nintendo is making some poor choices. Hopefully the Nintendo Fusion will fix these issues but only time will tell
My uncle had the Atari system shown at 8:55. When my sister & I were younger, we used to go to his house & play with it all the time. We also used to have the NES & played with that all the time. I even got the Game Genie & couple of games that were in the book so I can play them better. I liked playing with the NES, it was fun. :)
TheGrandRevo True. But one would hope someone at one of these big name companies would have the foresight to say: "Hey, maybe we should double check our numbers before doing this?"
I was 11 years old during the video game crash. Back then as of now, video games remain a personal love for me so you could imagine my disappointment when they started disappearing.
For Christmas my parents decided to get the family a Wii U. They said they did their research and to be honest, the did well. Since my brother is practically insane we can't at any gun related games. There aren't many gun games for the Wii U so that's a plus. Other awesome games have come out like Smash Brothers, Bayonetta 2 and many more. Also Pvz garden warfare is coming soon so my brother is super happy. Now my folks knew not to get an Xbox one. They are too expensive and we heard bad reviews about it so it was out of the picture. None of my friends have one anyway so I couldn't play with them. The playstation 4 on the other hand wasn't as bad but we couldn't play many of the games anyway.
If you can't get any gun games the wii u is the only console you can get, 99% of the ps4s and xbox ones library are shooters. But the wii u is great so don't worry,
I once played ET and i can tell you that game literally tries to deafen you if you're unlucky enough to be wearing headphones (and thats before you even start the game). As for the game itself, i never had any idea what i was doing other than running around falling down holes and magically floating back out of them.
I get that the VITA kinda flopped, but in all fairness It's an incredibly powerful handheld system. I love it! And I ended up selling my 3DS cause I just couldn't go back to it.
Yeah I love my vita too and they great thing about the vita as well is that vita owners buy a HUGE amount of software so hopefully it will pick up sales
PS Vita is a extremely capable and under-rated system. Nintendo keeps the true tradition of gaming alive and the PS Vita / PSP shows where gaming is currently at - nice alternative :)
This comment should have been #1 for amount of stupidity. I can tell you have 0 knowledge of the actual console seeing that you commented such a stupid thing
cyborgagent6 I can tell you have zero knowledge of actual grammar, since you cannot form a correct sentence. In all seriousness though why do you care if he thinks that? Why get so defensive over a console, and to be fair it does look like a VHS.
Josh_Video Well for starters people who know nothing about games or gamers are in charge of making games (see: Activision, EA, etc) so they make things that profit the companies and not the players as seen with Simcity, Skyrim, and Diablo III (Yes Skyrim, it crashes non-stop and feels incomplete; you shouldn't sell a game on the basis "well if our players mod it...") Second the budgets have gotten insane so if you're making a console game, it had better be a CoD clone because trying anything innovative is risky and people don't want to throw away millions. Luckily the PC has a decent indie crowd so hopefully the PC will stay afloat and only consoles will crash. Third is the issue with bribery in the review system. Ever notice how no matter how bad a game is, if it's made by a AAA company it gets a 9/10? That should imply the game is near perfect. And if a game gets a 10/10 that means it IS perfect... and if that's the case, why would the companies need to patch it or add DLC? Meanwhile great games by smaller companies get crap reviews. I refer you to IGN if you need any proof of this, just look up "Godhand vs Imagine Babyz" Fourth companies are pushing away talent for trying anything different, yet another reason the indie crowd on PC is doing amazingly while consoles sit and stagnate. Finally we don't know what we're buying anymore. With the lack of demos or gameplay in trailers existing and the review system being owned by the companies, we're pretty much being told everything is a "9/10 must buy" and have to take their word for it. Not to mention when we do see 'gameplay' in a trailer it's usually a bait and switch. For a recent example, look at Aliens: Colonial Marines. Really hyped, bought heavily, SUCKED HORRIBLY. In short, we're one objectively crappy CoD release away from the console market dying. I may hate CoD myself, but when I saw "objectively crappy" I mean it needs to be literally broken to the point where people can't even play it.
Yep, I bought one when I got my PS4 and PS+ a few months ago and I still haven't bought a single game for the Vita. The memory cards are way too expensive though.
Still so American-centric. The video game crash of 1983 did NOT almost destroy video gaming "as a whole". The industry was alive and well outside of North America. Especially in Japan where Nintendo was flourishing.
Here's the thing about on-disc DLC: publishers are going to charge for that DLC anyway. Literally the only practical thing about them taking it off the disc is that the consumer now has to download it, adding a little bit more hassle to the process. I understand why, psychologically, people don't like it, but just think about it for a moment. Also. always-on DRM is not great, but the public anger was baffling to me. It wasn't just that people were irritated, they were morally outraged. To be honest the whole thing made gamers seem kind of like whiny children who couldn't handle the minor setback of not being able to play a particular game for a few days. Yes, it was a pain in the arse. It was not the end of the world. And as long as people are going to pirate, publishers will seek ways around it. Can't hold that against them.
Not really. DLC should be content that they work on after the release of the game to keep people interested in playing it in the future- Something that wasnt available before. It should not be something that they already had in the game on the launch date that they withhold for the sake of making a couple of extra bucks.
The DLC thing makes sense to me. Most games require you to accomplish certain tasks before unlocking other parts of the game anyway; you're technically locked out of that content as well. And the publisher doesn't falsely advertise, where you expect to play as a character not even revealed to be on the disc, at the time you paid the retail price. Finally, there are many built-in restrictions on game discs, such as requiring the disc be in the tray even if you install the game to the hard drive. These are artificial restrictions that are very reasonable given the business model of console gaming, and the extra convenience of bandwidth savings (along with resourceful hackers being able to unlock the content themselves without paying). Think of the energy savings alone in a 2-20GB download times a million consoles. In regards to always-on DRM, that's a whole different story. It requires an internet connection where many people may not have one, and the extra security added is moot. If someone can mod a console to play DVD-Rs, they can mod it to connect to a fake DRM auth proxy server. All always-on does is inconvenience legitimate consumers and waste energy.
There is zero benefit to on-disc DLC. If you want each version to always be compatible with others, then patch in the content (in the case of fighting games) and let players unlock it as they want. Everything on-disc should be available to unlock in-game or usable from the very start. And if they can't download the patch, they definitely can't play online with other copies of the game!
As mentioned before, the bandwidth savings is a major benefit for producers, consumers, and the environment. And most games make use of unlockables, whether you need to pay extra or not. You could just as well argue that it's "unjust" to have to beat stage X to unlock character Y or weapon Z, since you "own" the whole disc. In actuality, you do not own most of your copyrighted media, you are actually only licensing it for personal use, bound by the terms of the license agreement (which is why you can't legally play your DVD for a stadium of people). Finally, there's no real philosophical argument to be made for false advertising or being cheated out of content you didn't pay for or own in the first place, regardless of where the 1s and 0s are sitting. As a consumer you aren't being inconvenienced or cheated in any way. It's like your friends coming over and putting their bags in your closet; just because they're in your closet doesn't mean you now own them.
"It wasn't until Nintendo came into the market in 1985 to revive the industry singlehandedly that things improved." More specifically, a certain green-clad elf-like hero that revived the industry. And no, I'm not making that up. Yes, Super Mario Bros. was a hit and sparked interest in video games again, but it wasn't until The Legend of Zelda was released that video game sales broke through the roof and signified a new chapter in video game history.
Lol. But now since a new lead is leading the team he's like "WE DON'T HAVE SPORTS AND TV! We now have game s*** BIATCH!" The future is bright for Xbox... :)
Here are my picks for top 10 Video Game fails (i made a list like this when the video came out years ago, but felt like it needs an update) 10) Ouya 9) DLC or Disc Locked Content (it's a stupid concept, and needs to go away) 8) Some of Sega's questions decisions in the last 20 years (you know releasing the Sega CD, 32x, rushing the Sega Saturn, making terrible sonic games, etc.) 7) Nintendo working with Phillips, and not with Sony 6) Always on DRM 5) XBOX ONE pre launch, plus having that Always on DRM (hopefully they got rid of that) 4) Playstation 3 being $600 upon launch (sure blu-ray was the new way to watch movies, but seriously?) 3) Wii U launch (hopefully Nintendo learns their lesson with their upcoming new system) 2) Playstation Network being hacked (this is why you should use a separate credit card for this) 1) The 1983 video game industry crash
Some Season Passes get an Honorable, or in this case dishonerable, mention because why do we need them? What's so great about them that you just couldn't put them in the game. It's just a waste of money!
The time line of viedeo games -some random world war 2 game -pong -arcade -capcom -pacman -nintendo -donkey kong -NINTENDO VS UNIVERSAL AND NINTENDO WON -atari -pacman ripoff -E.T -VIDEO GAME CRAsh -nothing -nothing -nothing -NINTENDO BRINGS BACK VIDEOGAMES -SUPER MARIO BROS 1 STARRING TOAD THAT'S FLIPPING YO OFF -SUPER MARIO BROS 2 AND 3 -MEGA MAN 1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8,9 -LEGEND OF ZELDA 1 - ZELDA 2 STARIRING THAT GIRL -METROID STARRING SAMUS THE SHE (not a he) -SONIC TEH HEDGEGOGS 1, 2, 3, AND KUCKLES -LINK TO PAST -SUPER MARIO WORLD -YOSHI ISLAND -STAERFOAX -SUPER MARIO LAND -SUPER MARIO LAND 2 STARRING MARIO'S BALLS -ZELDA LINK'S AWAKANING -POKEMON STARRING A 10 YEAR OLD KID WITH A PROFFECER THAT HITS ON HIS MAMMY
Since you have an Xbox One, if you are using your speakers on your TV, and some random person hops-on whatever game you're playing, and over voice chat yells: "Xbox Off" over and over, will it turn off?
I always try to tell mindless Nintendo haters about how Nintendo saved the industry during the game crash, and how if they didn't show up we wouldn't have our xbox or Playstations today and about stop making fun and hating on the late video game savior and former Nintendo President Hiroshi Yamauchi, the game industry would have been dead if Nintendo and him never showed up. I even went far as to show them proof through videos and documentries......and they still refuse to believe such things calling them conspiracies and cover ups........F****** haters.
TheDuckClock I guess they included it in one of their other videos, still they could have at least had a picture of it or something in this video because when I think of video game fails Virtual Boy is one of the first things that comes to my mind.
Yes it was, unfortunately. I didn't believe it at the time either, but today the consensus is that the Wii U was a failed console. Even as a Nintendo fanboy, I can accept this graciously.
About Neo Geo's high cost, the creators of Neo Geo had planned to have it be a rental only system and one to be used in bars and hotels. Because the system was so great though, enough people demanded it be available to sold to the general market despite warnings of how much both it and its games would cost due to how hard they all were to make with the available tech back then. It got put on the public market though and some people were willing to pay the cash for it. It wasn't a blunder at all as Neo Geo's creators only made it available for purchase but it's what the consumers wanted.
Just because it isn't selling well doesn't mean it's bad, or have a bad launch (every console has one of those) doesn't mean it's bad. Give it time to blossom. It could sell well this year with the new titles.

"Top 10 console fails" would have been a more appropriate name.
They've found the dug up E.T games…it's just been announced
Microsoft in the year 2013. One of the biggest fails in history
It's too early to tell if the Wii U's gonna be a full-fledged commercial failure. It might end up being a moderate success like the GameCube.
hopefully, but it's hard since the console has been in the market since november 2012, and has sold like 4 million units, and the ps4 has been out like 4-5 months and has sold like 7 million units
It won't succeed, it has the Vita syndrome; the damn thing is just too expensive and has too little consumer interest.
Brandon Frazier It won't be expensive for long. Same with the Vita. They'll eventually become affordable.
Allie-RX
Both have been out for over a year now, if they haven't had a market made for them yet, there will never be a market for them made. Both are widely considered a commercial failure and sinking any more money into the dying portable consoles would be asinine. Both companies are moving on to bigger and better things; trust me.

I think the Vita's first year was shocking, but from August it really picked up and delivered some quality titles.
I got a Japanese model PS Vita on September 29, 2023, plus Madden NFL 2013 for it on October 6, 2023, plus TH-cam
I just noticed that the actress in the commercial for the Coleco Adam is Lori Loughlin (aka Aunt Becky on Full House).
FunGi Games Wrong. You either don't know where to look or are actively ignoring a lot of its library.
FunGi Games
Persona 4 Golden
Fez
Spelunky
LBP Vita
Guacamelee
Tearaway
TxK
Gravity Rush
Danganronpa: Trigger Happy Havoc
...to name a few. ;)
In all fairness, it seems to have only really boomed in games terms really recently though, and that seems to have come too late... I don't even have a Vita :L
The xbone is still a glorified cable box though.
Yea yea... But atleast now it functions as a video game console as well. So that's something i guess?
andvas1994 Doesn't really matter, neither of the "next-gen" consoles have any good games right now anyways
PurpleIsALetter Wait until Halo comes out. And they have 2 good games right now. Titanfall and Infamous.
PurpleIsALetter EDIT: Woops... I'm in several debates on this video. Wrong reply. HAHA.xD Sorry.
Plus I can get Titanfall on PC so that's not a selling point for me
I want to buy a PS Vita for a couple of reasons:
-PSP games can be downloaded there.
-I'm a weebo. The PS Vita has some good anime related titles like Danganronpa, Persona 4 Golden among some others.
-Tearaway. I've been interested in that since it's released.
-I'm a weebo.
Maybe if you type weebo enough you'll turn Japanese.
No Pants No Pizza Nah, I'm good.
Potato Don't you think it's worth a try? Weebo weebo weebo, hmm don't feel anything... let's try some more. Weebo... W-E-E-B-O, weeeeebooo. Huh nothing. You try.
No Pants No Pizza Nah, I'm good.
Potato Hey, at least you're not a Brony. On the scale of stupid fans you're like a 3, Bronies are at least a 9.9
Nintendo is the true gaming king!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Sales say otherwise, unless you mean the King of Fail.
***** and you would rather be doing your taxes in your spare time?
How popular something is should have no effect on the quality of the product.
clay jack very excellent point
clay jack
Agreed...
Actually, I liked the Vita. Mainly because most of their games are ports from PS3, and I don't have that console. And it does have some great games...But a really small number. Like Persona 4 Golden. Best fucking RPG I've played far.
PS VITA: "THE FIRST PRODUCT THAT BLURRES THOSE LINES." Robin Thicke comes in and starts singing
Is it bad that. I slightly fanboyed when Boogie came on?
Nope. When I saw 'em, too, I was smiling from ear to ear.
Which boneheaded moment made me face palm?
Sega: Sonic the Hedgehog (2006)
sonic 06 is avarage rushed mess not that bad as people say it is tho
1:13-1:19- That was the song "Jesters of the moon" playing in the background from FF9!
So Atari rejected Nintendo, which led to Nintendo making their own system, who then rejected Sony which led to the PlayStation...
FLYNT COAL!!
One fail that should have been included is the over-reliance on DLC.
Always on DRM is a nightmare's nightmare for any gamer.
Where's the virtual boy?
Exactly.
They mentioned the virtual boy on the top ten worst consoles list
its not really something they would put on this list, that's a console. It was a fail but it failed as a console. not its own way like the crash of 1983. thanks Atari.
Cyrus Crompton Atari is still the most epic vintage video game system there is
ShortyMoneyTV I have to disagree, its graphics lower the possibilities... don't get me wrong, I don't care about how many bits there are but it just lowers the actual possibilities it could do
This ranks among your best lists!!
Well, at least the Wii U is redeeming itself with Mario Kart 8, Smash Bros. Bayonetta 2, X and many, many more!! :D
Still mad about the Vita. I bought one, and only played two games! LittleBigPlanet and Teraway. Doesn't justifies the Memory Cards and Price Tag. Maybe it will redeem itself too! :D
If you live in Asia, you would hv a lot of games to play on the vita
Paul Titus Really? Darn it! -.-
Any chance of them coming to the US?
The PS Vita has a pretty good library of games and is fun. The focus of it may be a bit off, but remote play with the PS4 is a great idea, it honestly doesn't deserve to be on the list.
WOW! To hear Lori Louglin ask “Is that legal?” has aged just perfectly.
Games for Windows Live
Over-saturation seems to be coming back.
There are a few boneheaded business decisions that made me facepalm:
1) Microsoft buying Rare and it's franchises from Nintendo
2) Activision buying the Crash Bandicoot and Spyro franchises, not only that, Universal Interactive forced Sony, Naughty Dog and Insomniac to give up the Crash and Spyro franchises if they didn't want to, which sucks and in the end, is all Universal Interactive's fault
sierra wasn't that bad and sony never had the license of crash or spyro but universal
mywlan2 I'm sorry but to my opinion, Sierra have killed these two franchises when they released Crash of the Titans, Mind over Mutant and The Legend of Spyro series, THESE GAMES SUCK, I did not like them.
Nintendo: The savior of modern video gaming.
And then the Wii came
hardy4ever98 The Wii has out-sold both the Xbox 360 and PS3, making it the best-selling seventh-generation console.
codster9 And now The wii U (despite it's fails here and there) Is the only console of this generation to support backwards compatibility.
codster9 The reason why it has more sales is because it got a head start. ._.
We all make mistakes, XONE Greed, Sony imbalanced colsoles, Nintendo launches, everyone makes mistakes they're all still pulling through
TheGrandRevo True. But one would hope someone at one of these big name companies would have the foresight to say: "Hey, maybe we should double check our numbers before doing this?"
Leo Ryff they should, but they can't be bothered.XD
TheGrandRevo Except Coleco. They died.
TheGrandRevo Everyone makes mistakes, everyone has those days, everyone knows what what i'm talkin bout everybody gets that way.
lol ProJared's Sim City footage
I was 11 years old during the video game crash. Back then as of now, video games remain a personal love for me so you could imagine my disappointment when they started disappearing.
BOOGIE!!!!
But the wii u is great so don't worry,
clay jack that's something unique about Nintendo. Hey PS3 had COD: advanced warfare. Oh whats that its on the xbox 1? original.
If your brothers insane I don't think he should be playing Bayonetta
He won't. He's too busy playing Mariocart 8 and Smash Bros. The only two games we have
clay jack don't you mean 60%? I've seen games like LittleBigPlanet, Forza and other ones I could list
i extremely loved my vita carry it around wherever i go. but yeah i understand why its on the list
because of its price?
Rodri Carp that and lack of marketing
ohh
Do top 10 Disturbed songs
2:03 Hold up- is That Lori Laughlin (Aunt Becky) from Full House?
+Rick Dunnigan it is!
XDragonFireX 97 I mean, it's too generic for me, but when I was a kid I kind of liked it.
XDragonFireX 97 LOL
I said the thing
I once played ET and i can tell you that game literally tries to deafen you if you're unlucky enough to be wearing headphones (and thats before you even start the game). As for the game itself, i never had any idea what i was doing other than running around falling down holes and magically floating back out of them.
I get that the VITA kinda flopped, but in all fairness It's an incredibly powerful handheld system. I love it! And I ended up selling my 3DS cause I just couldn't go back to it.
The Xbox One was also a flop at first, but it is a wonderful console that nobody seems to admit.
***** It will pick up. The VITA has gained a lot of momentum over the last year as well. Every system generally has a slow start.
Zeromus5555 Specially Nintendo systems, most of them flop at one point.
The Xbox One should be in first place.I already have a VHS.
This comment should have been #1 for amount of stupidity. I can tell you have 0 knowledge of the actual console seeing that you commented such a stupid thing
Hahaha god damn bro XD Nice one
cyborgagent6 I can tell you have zero knowledge of actual grammar, since you cannot form a correct sentence.
In all seriousness though why do you care if he thinks that? Why get so defensive over a console, and to be fair it does look like a VHS.
Sorry,I do my best.English is not my first lenguage. Thanks for paying so much interest on me.
uchihadante77 I wasn't talking to you dude.
damn good thing i wasnt born at the 80's because 1983
For some reason 4:53 - 5:04 always makes me laugh.

Ah yes, I had a lot of fun captioning that.
And Microsoft would've gotten away with it too, if it weren't for those meddling kids!
When the day comes when I need to stay online 24/7 to play a game,I'll give up my passion for video games.
While the crash was awful... I really do feel DRM should be pushed to #1 considering it's leading us to another crash...
I think it should lead to a crash, but I am afraid it won't
Josh_Video Well for starters people who know nothing about games or gamers are in charge of making games (see: Activision, EA, etc) so they make things that profit the companies and not the players as seen with Simcity, Skyrim, and Diablo III (Yes Skyrim, it crashes non-stop and feels incomplete; you shouldn't sell a game on the basis "well if our players mod it...")
Second the budgets have gotten insane so if you're making a console game, it had better be a CoD clone because trying anything innovative is risky and people don't want to throw away millions.
I refer you to IGN if you need any proof of this, just look up "Godhand vs Imagine Babyz"
Fourth companies are pushing away talent for trying anything different, yet another reason the indie crowd on PC is doing amazingly while consoles sit and stagnate.
Ps vita is awesome if you have ps plus.
I don't have PS Plus and I still love the Vita. My only problem is lack of money for new games.
If you can gets plus it's 50 for a year or 10 for a month and you get tons of free games every month.
Top 10 Slipknot Songs!
It should not be something that they already had in the game on the launch date that they withhold for the sake of making a couple of extra bucks.
i see day one downloadable dlc and on disc dlc as the same thing, both are distasteful
"It wasn't until Nintendo came into the market in 1985 to revive the industry singlehandedly that things improved."
More specifically, a certain green-clad elf-like hero that revived the industry.
And no, I'm not making that up. Yes, Super Mario Bros. was a hit and sparked interest in video games again, but it wasn't until The Legend of Zelda was released that video game sales broke through the roof and signified a new chapter in video game history.
Nintendo accidentaly creating the playstation
Thats a win not a fail
Xbox one creators: Buy the Xbox one! Its amazing! Sports and TV!
Me: sorry, I already have a basket ball and others and a DVR at my house.
Lol. But now since a new lead is leading the team he's like "WE DON'T HAVE SPORTS AND TV! We now have game s*** BIATCH!" The future is bright for Xbox... :)
And that light is dimming for me.
Here are my picks for top 10 Video Game fails (i made a list like this when the video came out years ago, but felt like it needs an update)
10) Ouya
9) DLC or Disc Locked Content (it's a stupid concept, and needs to go away)
8) Some of Sega's questions decisions in the last 20 years (you know releasing the Sega CD, 32x, rushing the Sega Saturn, making terrible sonic games, etc.)
7) Nintendo working with Phillips, and not with Sony
6) Always on DRM
5) XBOX ONE pre launch, plus having that Always on DRM (hopefully they got rid of that)
4) Playstation 3 being $600 upon launch (sure blu-ray was the new way to watch movies, but seriously?)
3) Wii U launch (hopefully Nintendo learns their lesson with their upcoming new system)
2) Playstation Network being hacked (this is why you should use a separate credit card for this)
1) The 1983 video game industry crash
Some Season Passes get an Honorable, or in this case dishonerable, mention because why do we need them? What's so great about them that you just couldn't put them in the game. It's just a waste of money!
You put boogie2988's Francis in there...

Holy shit my Xbox one just turned on when the announcer said "Introducing the Xbox one" because it must have thought i said xbox on
lol
Since you have an Xbox One, if you are using your speakers on your TV, and some random person hops-on whatever game you're playing, and over voice chat yells: "Xbox Off" over and over, will it turn off?
no because a pop up appears asking if you want it off
chickoman355 What if your say "Xbox off" and than "Yes" ?
Zane Newberry It won't listen to ANYTHING the TV says, it's been designed to do so
ET Cartridges were actually recently found. ITS TRUE!!!!
The amount was different (hundreds found not millions) but yes some legends are true.
I heard.
The Playstation Vita WAS AMAZING!
Virtual boy should have been on the list
already on the Nintendo fail I think
I always try to tell mindless Nintendo haters about how Nintendo saved the industry during the game crash, and how if they didn't show up we wouldn't have our xbox or Playstations today and about stop making fun and hating on the late video game savior and former Nintendo President Hiroshi Yamauchi, the game industry would have been dead if Nintendo and him never showed up.
I even went far as to show them proof through videos and documentries......and they still refuse to believe such things calling them conspiracies and cover ups........F****** haters.
Mojo should rename their video game lists: "How many Top 10 lists can we force Duke Nukem Forever, Night Trap and ET on?"
Speaking from the beginning of this video, Sonic 06 better be on this list..
+BKOOL999 LMAO

nope
Nah sega launching the dreamcast next to the PS2 was worse
Where is Virtual Boy?
Listen to the start of the video before the list starts.
TheDuckClock I guess they included it in one of their other videos, still they could have at least had a picture of it or something in this video because when I think of video game fails Virtual Boy is one of the first things that comes to my mind.

The Wii U launch wasn't a fail!!!
Aunt Becky ??? In 1:59 full house
Wii U doesn't deserve to be on this list.
Just because it isn't selling well doesn't mean it's bad, or have a bad launch (every console has one of those) doesn't mean it's bad. Give it time to blossom. It could sell well this year with the new titles.
Sorry! Didn't mean to Misjudge you.
TheCraftBros I believe the fail wasn't the console itself but the situation that it was presented, like the Vita. Not too many games etc.
True, there are good ones though
TheCraftBros idk how much it had sold when you commented, but you were right,it sold 7m around now.
