After applying your shooting tips, my shot is more consistent and it feels way better. I really like your point on not wasting movement and you do that by being in a low stance when catching the ball and rising for the shot immediately. Thanks coach!
i love this channel because it doesn’t give you useless things that you don’t do in practice but gives you things that you use in actual practice and at game speed also for off practice it is just the best
Ended up watching the whole 28 minutes straight. I’m going to start to workout on my basketball skills in the gym this February. I’m not very good, I was cut in tryouts for my high school team. Sometimes I feel very unmotivated because I was treated like shit by everyone on tryouts…This video was very motivating in making me be a good basketball player, but I still fear that I will never be good at it. I just hope that one day I will become a good basketball player and be respected by everyone else that plays the sport.
Thanks a lot for the video, I just see in the TH-cam recommendations and I see this quality of basketball content, Im just doing this all the days, thanks for the information
I really love watching these videos. These guys are good. I could see myself dropping those two handed balls left and right. I am amazed at all the training that goes into playing basketball. Good video!
You’re a wonderful coach, and your stories and motivation throughout these drills was phenomenon...... I would like to go out and ball right now but sadly I don’t have a home court and in Liberia we don’t have all these open gyms, there’s always people doing full court scrimmages

Wow! Thank you so much! I am doing this exact same shooting drill with my daughter(2nd grade). Obviously Im making adjustments for distance but same concept. You've explained everything so well and given me some added points to emphasize. Thank you!!
Great drill & video :) I'm curious if you experience soreness similar to tennis elbow from the constant repetitive shooting motion, like I do & what's your advice on how to remedy that condition?
Man! That's awesome. Long ago looking for a good fundamentals video and between all that I found you're top #1. Thank you so much for posting this video.
As a shooter myself, you are hitting all major points on the head. I do get approached every now and then in the gym on how to shoot better when people see me shoot. The way you explain it is definitely a great way to relay this information. Appreciate your video!
Excellent ideas, concepts, instruction and articulation. Each movement you teach has a purpose and you share the purpose of everything! Excellent resource coach!
Thank you for this. I am just getting back on the court after a few years off due back surgery and I'm trying to rebuild my shot (and shoot myself back into shape) so I can teach my kids when they get old enough, but I have no idea how to rebuild my shot. Now I have a baseline other than just taking random shots with one hand for a few days, and then taking random shots for 30 min a day.
10/10 Coach, best coaching shooting demo and explanation I have seen, loved the one hand shooting drill, superb mechanics, I will be taking that drill away this week and practicing it each and everyday. Hello from England, thanks for the upload. PS - Do you have a book or dvd out with your coaching drills please?
My older siblings helps me a lot and says a lot of the stuff you say. It's not how hard you practice in practice it's the unrequired work and having discipline and sacrificing time to put in work and get better. Also mechanics and dip...
Awesome lesson! I am interested in one thing though: Scot shot basketball made some good points of how in game the best shooters don't shoot the same time in all situations. It depends on distance from the rim, being closely guarded (fadeaways) - the release point changes, the angle changes, hangtime changes - sometimes they shoot 2-motion, sometimes 1-motion. I'd be interested about your take on those?
I do a variation of this and it takes like 20-25 , 5 min ball handling, 7 min finishing, 8 min form shooting, around that, goes more if i miss my shots, i also do only swished
The most important things about shooting are balance, consistency and being comfortable. Great shooters have different styles. Some dip the ball(Steph, Ray, Dame) and others don’t(Klay, Kawhi, Reggie Miller). Bird shot the ball behind his head. If you train ball players, make sure you can adjust to different styles period!
