So.. having used food processors for 42 years, starting with a Magimix, my over all impressons are this - the motors are generally good - except a Kenwood I once had which burned out after a couple of years - the blades are the problem. My origin Magimix cooked chop parsley so fine it was like dust - in a just a couple of seconds. All the machines I've had since - including Magimix, Kenwood, Bosch (I should explain I lived in 3 different countries hence different machines) are let down by the blades which are either badly made or not sharp enough. The blades now seem to be made from pressed steel and one Magimix set had a grating disc which came off the post and we did a repair on it which worked but the machine was virtually new! The cost of replacing bowls is ridiculous with a new bowl and lid for a Magimix coming in at just under £100.00!!! So obviously you're going to get a new machine but it seems across the board the blades are poor. The only review which mentioned sharp blades on Amazon was the Ninja. So I"m going to John Lewis to compare before I buy. Im surprised you dont mention the quality of the blades in this review because it is the most important feature.

I am not sure this review is impartial. Breville wins, while it is most certainly not the best food processor. Like all other appliances of Breville / Solis / Gastroback / Stollar (all the same) this is a medium quality machine at best.
Ask professional chefs which food processor they want in their kitchen at home and they will pick the Magimix 100% for sure. The Magimix is made by the company Robot-Coupe which makes professional food processors for professional chefs in professional kitchens.

Magimix. I had one for 20 years and then just decided to update it. It still worked perfectly does everything efficiently and it’s easy to clean used to every day for prep and cooking.
Without doubt, the best machine may be a little more expensive than others, but you get what you pay for. Then boaters are also guaranteed for 20 years!❤❤

@@jlachorajana446 l am in Jersey Channel Islands. We are British, but not part of Europe. We have a magimix rep who deals with things as most other places do. They have an excellent service online also! Their Guarantee is 20 years! which covers all parts unless it’s something like a worn out bowl ! Which is also available on their British web site or even Amazon. Its heavy because it will not move when under extreme mixing or chopping. Cheaper models are not as good or reliable.

I had a Kitchenaid food processor which was a pain to clean and and not up to scratch . I just got a Magimix 4200 XL and it is very easy to clean, works like a dream and the knives are really sharp.
Making peanut butter with the smoothie ring (or whatever you call it) is easy. Pizza dough and dough for shortcrust pastry and scones are easily made. I"ve also bought the orange/lemon press and will be buying the juicer attachment.

I broke down and purchased a new Vitamix A3500 bender and food processor attachment, and that has worked great so far! I HATED the Sous Chef. Such a hassle for storage. The motor underneath lets off a slight smell and it's a little loud th-cam.com/users/postUgkxCKuMxLnvr6fJd_M4SE-n7trcGj3zEUHq but considering it's size and how hard it works to do the job, it's sort of expected. I assume the smell will go away over time. Overall, I love this cute little blender. The extra cups and lids are great too!

Beeville automatic coffee maker cost me $399.00. 3 months later the swinging filter tray wouldn't close. It needed a new spring. The spring isn't available at all. So I called the manufacturer and got no response. What a waste of money. So I bought a moccamaster and it's been going strong for 2 years. Makes perfect gold standard cups of coffee every day. So what happened to the breville coffee maker. I took it to the gun range. Loaded a beta mag into my AR15 and shredded it into 1000 pieces. 😂

I am looking to get a new one and while it is costly the Magimix 5200 with all the extras is my choice.
It has 3 year warranty on all parts… a 30 year warranty on the motor… and importantly guarantees a 15 year support and production of all parts and fittings.
Only reason I need a new one is finally chucked out an old Magimix which my mum had since I was 15… I’m 56. And the motor was still powerful and the broken parts were broken by me dropping them.
