  • Today we wrap up the 4l60e to 4l80e swap with wiring and tuning options. Its a fairly simple task to complete since most of it is plug and play. You will need the 4l60e to 4l80e conversion harness or get a whole new harness but why? Then the tuning but depending on how you access your pcm will determine how you go about tuning for the 4l80e. Enjoy!

    You will also need to hook up the speed sensor in the rear with the old 4l60e speed sensor plug. Sorry I missed that.

    I’m doing the same exact thing.will the transmission work without a tune? Could I make it on the road to a tuner?

      Some say its possible I havent tried though. If it was temporary then it could work but longterm not so much. The torque convertor locks up different and the shift points are different due to the different gear ratios from 1st to 4th. It should only cost you about $100 if you have hptuners. If not check out ebay and get a pcm someone flashed already they are all over ebay.

    How did u like that harness adapter

    • @southerngearz
      @southerngearz  ปีที่แล้ว

      It was ok but I ended up repinning my connector and the conversion harness was repinned so it was an extension instead.

    Hey what happenes if you don't connect the speed sensor I got a tune with 6.0L

      Well there are two and if you remove either one the trans wont shift right or at all

      @@southerngearz shift right or hard shift cause mine has a lock 🔐 up wire issue I tried everything except the tcc to brake rig trick

    • @southerngearz
      @southerngearz  ปีที่แล้ว

      So if you go with the tcc to brake find the wire that gives 12v when the brakes are pressed. In my case when I was missing one of the speed sensors it was stuck in 2nd gear.
