  • The last of my recent batch of Heinnie Haynes knives. I love the Lambsfoot style, what about you? Let me know! The cost is a tad bit higher, due to the exotic wood. But 22 GBP is still amazing!

A couple months ago, I purchased two A Wright knives from the Famous Sheffield Shop. A barlow in buffalo horn and an ebony farmer’s blade. Had a pleasant experience and smooth transaction from them. Both knives were of excellent quality. Certainly a lot of “bang for the buck “. Very pleased.

I bought 5 of these in the same ebony so I could check out their consistency of manufacture. After I’d videoed them, I gave 4 of them away to American reviewers to help the brand. Lovely knives and great consistency. Mine all had the Arthur Wright and son stamp, whichI’d always prefer to the Made in Sheffield. I do value a clear stamp. The nail nicks are done on an old fashioned fly-press, so the depth is determined by how strong Ashley was feeling that morning. The senator is my favourite pattern, so its great that you got one as a replacement, but it is a shame that those two broke. I’ve a couple of their left handlers, and they’re doing fine… so far at least!
Addictive, is the truth. Even despite the number I’ve given away, I still have a couple of dozen. Getting a warranty replacement is quite right and nothing to be ashamed of. I also recommend them, and the Famous Sheffield Shop, and as you, I get nothing from them, for free. I’ve had free postage and a small discount when buying multiple products, but I’m very pleased to just recommend their products and service.

I remember the 5 you bought. It was your video that inspired me to buy one! I love the style of Wrights, they have something no other brand does. I just can't explain it! Thanks for stopping by!

That is a handsome collection. Love the A Wright knives. Old school traditionals. Very beautiful and very functional. And very affordable. Plus ya don’t have to go to the scalpers to obtain one at thrice the price. Thank you for the show and tell. ✝️😀✌🏼

Exactly. I enjoy buying these more than hunting GEC and the like.

I have one from the same batch, I think. Super-black ebony.

I remember that! I like the colour a lot! Although, I am biased to Ebony Burl.

Ive had a number of Arthur wrights, a lambsfoot with a black palm wood handle and filework. File work spot on gapping good but blade centering poor, very sharp. 8/10
A rose wood handle sheep foot, gapping good centereing again poor sharpness ok but not great. A knife to keep in the truck but not brilliant rateing 7/10
Latest a lambfoot with buffalo horn handle, gapping excellent, centering spot on and blade sharpness great. Absolute perfection. I will treasure this knife. 10/10
On all three the spring stiffness i would rate as superb.

That's great to hear! I just had this knife break on me, so I'm happy to hear stories of successful knives by Wright. Cheers!

@TheKnifeRaven I definitely think they can make good knives. The buffalow horn one has as good or better gaps and centring as my taylors eyewitness Premiere Barlow. A £46 knife compared to a £170 one.

I've never tried the A. Wright knives; they look like great knives. I live in Pennsylvania. Both Case and GEC are very close to me. I went to the GEC annual get together two years back. I bought a eureka pattern knife and only paid $110 in their store/ factory.

You're lucky, Pennsylvania is rich in knifemaking! But you should surely check out A. Wright! They are very cheap compared to Case, GEC, Grohmann or almost any other traditional knife brand made in an Artisan way.

@@TheKnifeRaven I try to only buy one knife a year. Since, I already bought two this year, maybe I'll grab one next year. :)

Excellent pocket knifes, personally prefer Taylor eye witness as a Yorkshireman won't use anything else, the once great sheffield steel industry is slowly coming back.

Taylor's Premier line is outstanding. The basic ones are a little more rough around the edges, but I still enjoy them.
