- On one of our road trips to Oregon a few years back, we made a quick stop at the Redwood National & State Parks in California. This place was so beautiful that we wanted to come back and spend more time here. Since it is quite large (over 38,982 acres), the trip planning was a bit tricky, especially because we only have 3 days to see everything. After tons of research, we came up with the best road trip itinerary that would allow us to experience most of what these parks have to offer. This weekend-sized itinerary features lush green forests, giant redwoods, breathtaking coastal trails as well as beautiful hidden beaches. Redwood National and State Parks is absolutely worth visiting!

Awesome video, it looks amazing
Thank you so much! Glad you enjoyed it 🙂
Agree with you 😊 Prairie Creek is the perfect place ❤️❤️❤️
Lots of great views.
So many man! We can't wait to go back!
I've been wanting to go here for the first time. Thanks for the suggestion
You are going to love it! ❤️
Needed this video! Think I just got inspired to do the same three days! Thank you!
So glad that we could help! It is a pretty awesome 3 days that's for sure! :)
Great content! Efficient use of three days.
Thank you! It is definitely an action packed couple days 😁👍
Hey!that's aweosme .
Thank you! Glad you enjoyed it! 😁👍
Great content as usual. Really enjoyed all your videos. I would appreciate if you can include some details about road conditions, whether roads are drivable via 2 wheels drive.
Thank you so much! We never needed to use 4-wheel drive while we were on this trip. High clearance and off-road tires would be helpful, but you could get to these spots in a car if you take your time. Also, our blog has a lot more detailed info. The link for the blog is in the description.
We are going in 2 week, thank you for the video
Awesome! Have a great trip!
How was it?
It is $12.00 now fyi. and cash and or check only I believe. You have to reserve a permit but reserving the permit for the time is free. You pay when you get there.
Thank you for the update. Which hike is this for?
This looks amazing! I’m planning on going in May. Did you have any contact with wild animals (bears, elk)?
You are going to love it there! We speed one bear on the side of the road (luckily from the car) and a big herd of Roosevelt elk
Thank you for the video. The website indicates a Backcountry permit is required for overnight stays at the campsite. I'm having trouble finding the permit application and booking options for the campsite. Could you share links to book both?
For backcountry permit at Redwood NP, here's the link explaining it with Reserve option:

For reserving:

Hopes that help
Could u please give us the list of places u visited, in your description ?
There is actually a link to a very detailed list on our website in the description. 😎🤙
To accomplish this trip, where do you recommend staying? Any particular city that makes these all an easy driving distance?
Hi, so Trinidad or Crescent City would be the two cities that book-end all of these activities. You can find more options and affordable lodging in these two cities. If you want something in the middle, then you'll have Orick, Berry Glenn or Klamath. Not as many lodging options in the middle.
Trinidad is an adorable little town with many of things to do. We camped at Mill Creek campground but if we visited again, we might try to stay in Trinidad. I hope this helps you.
Thank you! It does help!@@LiveThatAdventure
May we ask what time of year you went? Where you stayed and how you got food and stuff.
We shot this in early September. We camped at the Mill Creek campground. Since we were camping, we brought our own food and kept it in an ice chest. Hope this helps ☺️
what is the name of the campground you stayed at? it’s beautiful!
Its called Mill Creek. Its super pretty!
@@LiveThatAdventure Do you mean Mill Creek?
@@stevealbert4050 yes!! Thank you for correcting. I missed the spelling. 😊
Can you provide information on where you camped for this trip?
Sure thing! We stayed at the Mill Creek campground
What month did u go
We went near the end of August before the campground closed for the year
Is it possible to a normal person send a petition to the state of California to live in the redwood national park? Do you know if theres a way or something like that
according to Chatgpt: Redwood National and State Parks, located in northern California, encompass a vast area of protected redwood forests. While the parks offer camping facilities and various recreational opportunities, living permanently within the boundaries of the park is not allowed.
The parks are managed by the National Park Service and the California Department of Parks and Recreation, and they have regulations in place to protect the natural environment and preserve it for future generations. These regulations typically prohibit permanent residency within the park boundaries.
However, there are nearby communities where people live, and individuals can visit the parks for recreation, education, and appreciation of the natural beauty of the redwood forests. Additionally, there are park staff and researchers who may stay within the park for temporary periods as part of their work, but this is typically not considered permanent residency.
@@LiveThatAdventure thank you for answering
@@JamesM2000 Sure thing! I wish I had a better answer for you!
