During the Muir Woods visit it was interesting that the tourists were mostly silent, just looking up in awe. As they say, it is like being in a great cathedral.
I LOVE your videos…I don’t understand why you don’t have one million subscribers! I love to travel vicariously through you…thank you for the quality content and videography…
Bark Ranger is a welcome engagement for dogs in these parks where they are normally limited or banned. It's fun for us (and Barkley) but I also look at participating as a way to give the Park service feedback on the importance of accommodating dogs as much as possible in National Parks. We were asked to evaluate our experience at Death Valley for the superintendent (routine survey) and I wrote tongue in cheek a response from Barkley about how much he enjoyed the park and asking about getting Bark Ranger going there. We got a nice personal note back from the Superintendent stating he would direct staff to look into development of the program. Thanks Katelyn and Scout for highlighting Bark Ranger.
Just a quick note to let you know how much I am enjoying your National Park series this year. They are so informative and packed with beautiful scenery of our wonderful country. Thanks for all the work you put into each video.
I used to live in Crescent City and, while my grandfather was a park ranger, Mill Creek Campground. I no longer live in the area and I miss it. I like watching your video of familiar places. You guys are a fun couple. Thanks for sharing.
I haven't smiled so much on any of my favorite travel channel's interesting trips, including yours, as I did on your coverage of this magnificent tribute to the intelligent design of symbiotic relationships that actually overwhelm the tremendous beauty of this park. Thank you for your appreciation, format, and wit of this coverage.
I lived in Colorado for 7 years. There were elk in my residential neighborhood multiple times throughout the year. The “We won’t bother you as long as you don’t bother us” relationship prevailed. We would have anywhere from 10 to 200 elk depending on the time of year. Loved them!
That park is unbelievable! It's so beautiful! The elk are so curious about you guys! We went to Cherokee, NC once and saw probably about 100 elk grazing. The park ranger said that they come out of the mountains every night to feed. A Mommy elk was nursing her baby. Mom would move to graze and the baby would cry the whole time he was chasing Mommy so he could nurse again. It was so sweet! The crowd melted and went "aww". One of the coolest experiences we ever had! Nature is so incredible!
I want to thank both of you for this beautiful, magical video. I was in shock seeing those beautiful redwoods, and the elk!! I have learnt so much from this. How incredibly wonderful!! Also congratulations to Scout.A Bark ranger indeed 🙂. Big hugs ❤️❤️🇨🇦
Beautiful! And yes magical! Katelyn - you said "I love nature" and I literally said exactly that this morning. The canyon... I've seen other videos on it, but this one - wow!
Love this park…Think I wrote b4 😵💫 but this was our first NP visited back in 1997 with travel trailer and little kids. Wow it’s been forever. Enjoy the cool weather and hikes. Thanks
We really enjoy your videos. We have visited many of the places you've been. Having retired from the post office in February we are three months into 15 months of seeing this beautiful country. We were very surprised to see Howard checking in the same time as us at BRYCE CANYON NATIONAL PARK. It was refreshing to talk to such a down to earth person. Good luck on your park quest!
Scout is the cutest park ranger I've ever seen! Love her so much! I think about the incredible life that you two have given her since you rescued her in Mexico!
Love your videos, We have never traveled into or around California. I think we need to do so. Thanks for all your wonderful videos. Maybe see ya on the road someday.
Another great park. I haven’t been able to California since I drove Truck over the road but you’re making me wanna think about going back again. Thanks from Wisconsin.
Recently discovered your channel. Watching this made me a little emotional.Thank you for sharing these experiences that not all gets to experience in their lifetime
Good advice to check weather and water conditions before you go places. That's always good advice in the spring as water levels are generally higher. Yeah, I'd much rather encounter an elk when I'm in my car than face to face. So majestic and he seemed pretty calm so that's good. But yeah, you have to be careful. That trail is so incredibly cool!
I recently came to know you from RV Unplugged, we watch several you tubers and my wife said that she thought that you two would be fun to watch...she was right, I have watched a few videos and I was very impressed by how you present the info that you glean from your sources. There was a time before I retired where I did quite a bit of training and I can appreciate good technique and good preparation. We travel full-time and are spending the summer in eastern Idaho volunteering at a visitors center. Maybe we will meet up some day. Thanks!
We are about to go to thru Redwoods from Astoria Oregon 😅 ending our season of workamping at the KOA. Elk would come thru the campground all the time. One time they drank from our hose 😱 LMAO I thought they where wild horses the first time cause they are sooo huge!! 🤙🏽Ruben&Lori🌺
Incredible, magnificent, awe inspiring isn’t even sufficient to describe the majesty of these ancient trees. Such a wondrous place - there’s nothing else like it on this planet. How fun for Scout to become a Park Ranger and be able to visit the beach. Katelyn - can you share what type of leash you used on Scout for that beach walk? Please and thanks, and thank you for sharing this majestic NP with all of us.
This looks amazing! Definitely going on the list. You had me at elk. So many crazy facts about the trees and the forest. So sad that only a fraction of the forest remains.
In that the Winnebago 29NP is marketed toward those that want a rig that will fit in the majority of National and State Parks, we'd love to see a bit more of the practical side of things, such as campground details (sites, hook-ups, crowding), costs to camp, facilities, etc. Keep up the good work.
Yeah, you can cross that small puddle of water with any car 3:56. You don't need a high ground clearance vehicle. I have crossed deeper and wider bodies of water with my Prius. Thank you so much for the great video 😁
Haha, the point we were making was to always check in advance before attempting to cross. Glad you enjoyed the episode and hope you'll continue on the journey with us! 👍 - Howard
Cool park! Great adventure.the Elk are aggressive mostly in the breeding season which is September early October. Not sure when you were there. But most other times of the year they’re pretty docile, unless you invade their space. You guys stayed far enough away! They’re a cool critter! Very large, the one you saw was actually just a few years old, pretty young.
Excellent video and cool National Park!! On a different note so close on RV Unplugged. Full disclosure I was cheering for Chris and Aaron (same state and Aaron and I have something else in common) but you guys were next. I would call it 1 and 1A. You had the greatest line of the entire show. I have never shot anything, well except for a crossbow! I have shot everything and never even seen a crossbow. Are they even legal? Anyway it was such a joy watching you guys and hearing your thoughts. I am also glad you four are good friends. Looks to me like just a bunch of great people. One of my trips to Isle Royale I was roughly 15 feet from a moose. They also are a huge animal. One last tip for you guys. Luckily I have never been seasick but talked to a tour operator that said you need to start taking Dramamine a couple days before you get on a boat so it can work into your system. He said the people that do that with a history of getting seasick never got sick on his boats. Looking forward to the next 41 parks.
Dan, thanks so much and appreciate all the kind words! Chris and Aaron are wonderful friends, our RV besties, and we realized recently that we've spent over two months traveling together since the show! Also, it's ok to cheer for them. We've said this before, but if you're going to lose a competition, at least let it to be to great friends. ♥️ Ok, Moose! We've had several run-ins with them, and you're right. They are huge! If you check out our Alaska series, I think we show footage of a Moose drinking from a hot spring in the Chena Hot Springs episode. That moose couldn't have been more than 50ft away from where I filmed it (somewhat safely behind a low wall near the locker rooms). Amazing creatures. 👍 -Howard
Another great video, again we learned we have to go back and explore more deeply. You seem to follow a crisscross route, I saw you arriving at white sands in a Irene iron travels video.
Thanks so much! Also, this episode was filmed almost a month before we stopped at White Sands (on our way to the RV Unplugged Rally). We TRY to take the most direct route between the parks, but the weather on the west coast has made us reschedule multiple times and adjust our route each time... -Howard
Thanks, Don! We stayed at the Chinook RV Resort in Klamath, which is a great area to be in for exploring this long and skinny park (if you can't fit into the campsites in the park). At 30ft, we were about 2 feet too long for the most generous state Park campground. I put a link in the description which describes the various camping options in park! 👍 -Howard
@@NewstateNomads not sure if it is worth it. Never been there also passed it a few times. I have heard good things. Next time I am in the area I will stop and check it out. Happy travels

Happy Mother's Day Katelyn! 💐Love, Shelley & Donald xx
All set to really enjoy this. I had the good fortune to visit Muir Woods, about 30 years ago, and have never forgotten it.
Love the Redwoods!! Our Little, White Dog Polly became a Bark Ranger there too. Such a fun program! Great job, Scout! ❤

One of the more interesting creatures in the park is the Banana Slug. I am enjoying your series. Very well done.

Amazing! New item on my bucket list! Thank you!😊
Guys we had 5 redwoods growing at one of our past houses! 🌲In a neighborhood! We moved asap! Roots lifting fence! 😂 Scout looked so official! 🐾🦴
We love Scout! What a cute idea to make them bark rangers 😁. It was great to meet you in Texas. Our dog Kluntje could be scout’s sister! 😍
