DecidueyeDestruction56 New Usmash is better in almost every way. It’s got massive range, coverage, still extremely powerful and even fast. Since it covers front, above, and even behind Ganondorf, Usmash is useful for many situations: punishing rolls, landings, ledge options, and even jumps.
@@KalamityKTK fun fact: he has the best Up smash, and down smash! and is third place for best forward smash. He also had the best up tilt. He also has the best Meteor smash as well. {The best means most damage.}
Guys watch out at 9:49 , Ganon cant "side B" > "front tilt" little mac, pichu and other small characters who are laying on the ground, just a quick node :)) (Down tilt works perfectly on lil mac tho 👌🏿) But for the rest, nice video!
I’ve found a pretty decent launching combo that does ~50%: -jump into the air (while they are on the ground) and down air them. Works best around 50%, as they will get launched well enough -when you land on the ground, forward smash in their direction (quick, no charge) and it will launch them really far
A combo I'd like to leave here is when you down air on stage and hit, you can up smash and you'll hit them a lot of the time if there in good percentage. Most people I've gone against don't have the reaction time to counter it Light 20-30% Mid weight 30-40% And heavy is about 40-50%
Theres a video I watched a few months back by some guy that did it for Smash 4, cant remember what account it was exactly. If you look up "smash bros terminology" you could probably find it
Great piece of Ganon tech, when in top corner *AND FACING THE STAGE* you can often use down-b to mix up your recovery. Don't spam it though, they tend to read it after a few times.
Ganondorfs Up B is one of his best edgeguarding tools. It has a lot of range, and offstage, it has ridiculous kill power. And when you hit someone with it offstage, you bounce backwards and dont go into freefall, so you can recover again.
One thing I like to do with Ganon is to flame choke and then read a forward roll. You can just run back a little bit to make sure getup attack doesn't hit you, then sideB again or downB to get them from their forward roll. This will condition them to roll behind you. I never punish the backwards roll until they're at kill percent, because I want them to keep doing it. Then when I get a flame choke at kill percent, turn around and Fsmash them. If you're playing against people who know you'll try this trick it won't work, but when people aren't sure what kind of mind games you'll play, this works almost all the time.
I’d also like to point out that down throw to neutral air is a true combo at low percentages against most characters. At medium percentages, down air spiking on stage true combos with up smash.
For Throws at low percent: DOWN Throw>Short Hop nair fast fall(immediately after 2nd kick)>Dash attack>Full jump Up Air>(read: example air dodge read= fast fall charge up smash
I would generally say that down-tilt after side-b is most effective unless the f-tilt would surely kill, and up to a certain percent, it is more likely you can follow up in the air for more damage or perhaps a stock. Use it at ledge, not in neutral.
In my opinion ganon can be adapted against every player. Depends on your play style and enemy reading. You gotta faint allot( pretend to attack) against really fast opponents. Although he is slow.. you can make him faster
I think you meant to switch "earlier" and "later" when you were talking about DA. Also crossing up with DA is great because it sets up for sh bair, sh reverse uair, and turnaround ftilt/jab.
Ganon strat: whenever you see them charging the first 3 or so times you do side-b, a good player will start to adapt to that, and on the 4th do a doriyah. Most people just run into it anticipating the side b and die at 50 if they aren't ready to di it.
Aight definitely late but eh, a few things i noticed as a ganon main, 1. If you hit down b from the air and your opponent shields, it breaks like 90% of your shield so it's a nice shield breaker sometimes. Also if if you hit wizards foot at the leftmost part of the foot it spikes diagonally opposite of where it usually spikes to. 2. Down air can be followed up by down b at lower percents (around 20-35 if i remembered correctly). 3. Dash attack is amazing since you can follow it up with either up air or f-air, and even nair at low to mid percents 4. Flame choke can has a lot of viable options to follow up with, as mentioned in the video, jab and f tilt, but u could also follow up with short hop dair and as of the recent patch slightly easier to do it with down smash. 5. If you go past an opponent with dash attack you could follow up sometimes with bair, up smash and if the opponent air dodged away, with flame choke 6. Dark dive is a nice mix up as an out of shield option and several players also use dark dive off ledge comboing into flame choke. 7. Volcano kick sends you upwards if you get caught mid air, and sends you diagonally downwards if you catch someone on a platform, though significantly weaker. Anyways that's just me blabbering, I dont know how accurate what i say is since i just started playing smash like 5 months ago and only picked up ganondorf about 2-3 months ago but eh, it's what i notice and maybe some of you other ganon mains might be able to use this
Ah and a last second catch up, ganon's toe hit from the up air can send someone diagonally down insanely fast that sometimes it's untechable and it just confirms you into a dash attack or something.
I personally think that dash attack is the optimal move to use out of flame choke, as it covers tech in place and tech roll away from you, but you will need to read your opponent if they are the sort to tech properly. You may want to tech chase them with a flame choke behind you or wizard’s foot. If they miss a tech, you can possibly try to use down smash or forward smash behind you to hard read them. Aerial wizard choke is untechable, but you have a little bit more lagging lag in using it, so the best way to use it is to go for a hard read tech chase situation.
Ima leave this here a few tips for ganondorf when onstage many of his attacks are good at any time but some are better then others off stage forward air is good for stoping them from getting back on stage as well as down air to spike em and remember f smash is a good attack for killing them when they are at high percents
Also if the the enemy is very offensive to use neutral airs and down air works on stage as well dash attacks to n air works well against heavy characters try to be as offensive as possible and pressure them
Gannon is just heavy Cpt. Falcon. Neutral B: strong punch Down B: sliding kick Side B: not as similar, but still some what similar. Up B: a jump that grabs and then explodes.
Peach/Daisy (i like Daisy more) Captain Falcon and Jigglypuff would be nice too, as well as Palutena, Ridley, Wolf, Wario, King Dedede, R.O.B. and maybe Cloud
I always do this: Down air, Down smash, chase them off the ledge, try to spike with down air, if that does not work edge guard with up tilt or do a suicide side B
Ganons side b combos into down smash as well, it’s very effective for damage, but not to knock them out since you usually knock them towards the middle of the stage
His up special, dark dive, can actually kill of they're at a good percent and towards the top or even upper middle area on certain characters or just high enough percent
