    Hey did you ever face an issue whrere you've kept your vehicle on charge overnight and someone tried to just damage the charging cable? I am asking because people in general have a tendency for vandalism.

      Not me, because my apartment has many cctv installed. However, a friends car charging cable was cut at night. He lives in a standalone house where he parks his vehicle on the road.

    Can i charge it in a normal socket at some public place ?

    • @TheGlovesMan
      @TheGlovesMan  8 หลายเดือนก่อน

      As long as the socket is of 16A, it will charge.
      So lets say you go to some relatives place and you need to charge your car. In this case, if they have access to a 16A socket outside, you can plug the charging cable there. It should have proper grounding though.

    What's the power load permitted by your power supplier? If the permitted power load is 2.74 KW/hr will it be fine or additional power is to be requested from the power supplier?

    • @TheGlovesMan
      @TheGlovesMan  ปีที่แล้ว

      The power load permitted by my supplier is 4Kw. Since the charger is 3.3 Kw, I think you might need additional power from the supplier.
      Check with Tata Folks for detailed info.

    • @TheGlovesMan
      @TheGlovesMan  22 วันที่ผ่านมา

      Even in an apartment, home meter should be somewhere at the ground floor. I think you are mistaken or probably you are right too.
      from 5th floor to -3 would be around 8 floors in total. That's around 80 feet of wire. I think it'll quite costly for you. Just the wire might cost 10-15k.

    Is 3 phase supply needed for this or it will work for single phase supply also?

    • @TheGlovesMan
      @TheGlovesMan  4 วันที่ผ่านมา

      It works with single phase as well, as long as the overall load provided by your electricity provider is good.
      For example, I have a single phase connection with max load of 4KW. I mostly charge my car at night. During night time, sometimes 2 AC's are operating in parallel as well. Sometimes in the morning, dishwasher and washing machine is working in parallel when the car is charging. I have not faced any load issues.
      For the other 7.2KW charger, you need to increase your load by contacting your electricity provided. But for this portable charger, no need to do that.

    • @TheGlovesMan
      @TheGlovesMan  ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes, you can re-use it. Upto 15 metres of cable is provided free from Tata along with the charging unit. For any additional wire, you will have to pay a certain amount. I think it's 150rs to 300rs per metre.
      When moving out to a separate place, you can call the Tata Power guys to remove the wire and the charging unit and install it at a different place.
      Please note that the free setup is only one time. For relocation, you might have to pay additional charges.

    So what is the source of electricity ? Does the electricity bill comes separately for you??

    • @TheGlovesMan
      @TheGlovesMan  3 หลายเดือนก่อน

      The source of electricity is from the same meter that supplies electricity to my house. There's no separate bill as such. The units that get consumed for charging, get added to my electricity bill.
      However, one can opt for a green meter that gets separately installed for EV charging only. It has different rates and you cannot plug any other devices in it.

    • @TheGlovesMan
      @TheGlovesMan  7 หลายเดือนก่อน

      For open parking, only if you have a proper wall nearby, you'll be able to properly attach the charger. You'll also have to ensure that it's secure from rainfall somehow. I think Tata customer care will be able to answer your question in a better manner. In my society, people have done this in open parking as well, but they had a wall nearby where they've added a small cover to protect it from rainfall.

      Hi Harjagit,
      I am no sure of the exact units consumed for a full charge.
      But the following numbers might help you understand some details
      My electricity bill before getting the EV used to be around Rs 2500 or Rs.2700
      After using it to charge my EV, it's Rs.4000
      My usage is:
      Daily use of 3-4 kms
      Every week, I go out for 200 or 250kms drive..
      So you can say, Rs.1500 for 1000 kms... that's around Rs.1.5 per km. Hope his helps.

    During overnight charging. If the vehicle is left plugged in even after the charging 100% does the charger cut of the electric flow on its own. Or does it keep charging the vehicle, also can start / stop the charging remotely thru the app if i just leave the vehicle plugged in.
    Basically i m just worried about the battery being damaged due to overcharging

    • @TheGlovesMan
      @TheGlovesMan  ปีที่แล้ว

      There's an inbuilt mechanism to prevent overcharging. It automatically cut's off the charging when the vehicle reaches 100% charging.
      You cannot force-stop the charging remotely through the app. The app just shows the charging status and notifies you when the charging has reached 100%.
      Do not worry about the battery being damaged due to overcharging.
