Hello! All the best for cleaning and conditioning your vintage vachetta! Which bag will you be working on? Also reminder this method can darken your vachetta so its not suitable on light vachetta
Hi Dayle! Thanks to all the other fellow vintage LV lovers on Facebook and the purse forum I was able to find a process that kept my bags fabulous 😜 haha
Thank you Lokie! I made the mistake of going straight into cleaning last time and the leather felt so dry the next day, that's what inspired me to make this video 🙂
Hi thank you for this video. It is very helpful. Just wondering if virgin coconut oil can be use for vachetta leather? As I heard it is better that olive oil?
Hey there, I've never used it before so I can't comment. However you can join the purseforum and then search coconut oil in the search bar to see if anyone else has used it. I know different people swear by different methods so thats the most likely place you will find feedback on coconut oil 😁
Thank you for the vintage bag tip by sharing your experience! Easy-peasy "condition-clean-condition" :) Btw, great find on the Chanel top converted to a dress. The buttons and color contrast is a good choice!
Congratulations on your bag! Which bag did you buy? For cleaning the monogram I just use the same unscented baby wipes (I use the water wipes brand) and yes I apply the same conditioner to the monogram :)
@@LadyVintageBags thanks!! The leather is dried and a bit cracked in some parts and also a bit dark dark but other than that it’s in a nice vintage condition! Definitely will condition it and follow your tips 👌🏼👌🏼
Hi! I just got my first vintage bag. Can this cleaning method be applied on the Cartouchiere ? The strap has some water stains and vachetta leather buckle strap is almost peeling.
Yes this method can be applied to the vachetta on the cartionchiere but please keep in mind, this does not get rid of water stains, this helps to get the dirt and grime off but does not get rid of water stains. Additionally if your leather is so dry that it's almost peeling, give it a decent amount of conditioner in the first round so that it doesn't dry out too much when you go over it with the water wipes.
Thank you for your steps on cleaning vintage and dark vachetta. I just purchased a "vintage" (date code not listed on Fashionphile) Ellipse PM and the vachetta seems like a medium carmel vachetta which is the max color of darkness I prefer. If I do this process of conditioner then baby wipe and conditioner again can it also make my vachetta a shade darker? I do not want it darker but wouldn't mind if it got lighter. Also under the top handle where you grip, from the pics it looks a little darker there. What can I do to lift up the darker area? A white eraser just on that spot ok? Thank you! 💗
Hey Debbie! Congratulations on your preloved Ellipse! Regarding the colour of the vachetta there is no garuntee that it won't darken at all because it all depends on 1. The level of patina it already has, 2. The amount of dirt and grime on the leather, 3. The conditioner you use, 4. The amount of wet wiping you do. There are just too many variables to consider. HOWEVER what I can say is that my Saint cloud did not darken during the making of this tutorial. Yes it temporarily darkens during the cleaning and conditioning so don't panic while doing it, but once a few days had passed and the leather had time to dry again, the colour reverted back to what it was Regarding magic eraser, I've never used it HOWEVER Autumn Beckman has made videos about that topic on her channel. So check out her videos on that. Do you follow her aswell?
@@LadyVintageBags hi there! Thank you for your response and explanation! Yes I do follow Autumn so I'll check her out. I did purchase the Ellipse on Fashionphile in the whee am! Lol. I called them this am to have a personal shopper do a visual and send me pics. The bag is in very good condition and looks great but the vachetta is a tad darker (a medium caramel which is pretty much at the max for darkness for me). The top handle looked even a tad darker in the middle but justva tad. Overall it was not bad at all, but for my liking it was too dark, so I just cancelled my order since it wasn't shipped out yet. I think I'm just caught up on the new release of this bag and at the great price that the vintage piece is when overall I like the bag alot, but I'm not in love with the bag with the darken vachetta. I hope I don't regret it later. I also feel I have a lot of monogram in size medium to large, so getting another in the same size is too much. Anyhow, my search for videos on the Ellipse has caused me to find you so that's a great deal! I like how informative you are!😃 Let us know which vintage piece are on their way to being hot so we can buy before the hype! Hahaha 😆 Thank you so much again!💖💝🧡
@@debbieh9009 yes I totally related with getting caught up on the new releases! Yes even though the purchase didn't work out I'm so glad you found my channel 😃😃😃!
Yes I've seen lots of videos using saddle soap, especially on bags with a lot of water stains, I should try it! Have you used saddle soap before? What was your experience?
What is your best vachetta cleaning hack? I want to know!

What do you do to clean light patina dirt and watermarks?
Hi Letty ! Thanks for watching ! I just use waterwipes and a white eraser. I use the eraser very gently

Hello there! Thanks for taking the time to stop by! This hack could be used to clean and condition the vachetta on your very old LV neverfull! :)
We do not need to watch this in real time. Nice you did fast undoing the belt
Hi Clara! Thanks for watching! Yes I'm practicing speeding up bits of the videos ☺️
Good to fast forward but better not to show the fast forward. What I have seen before is to use saddles soap before last conditioning

If I knew this I wouldn’t have given 3 LV bags to my daughter☹️
Take it back from them (hehe, no im just joking ) but there are so many beautiful styles you can buy from the preloved market at a reasonable price =)
