Hi there again always enjoy your videos and tips.... After I have cleaned the canvas on the monogram LV's... Using your methods, I also rub in some Armour all protectant... It not only protects the canvas but also brightens canvas that has become dull and darkened... I know with yours you usually purchase bags in slightly better condition than I do but if anyone is purchasing a really old girl the Amourall Protectant works well.... With the Leather if it is gone too far and just too dark and stained, I either re-colour through dying or using Leather paint... I would be interested in other people's opinions on whether it is sacrilege to re-paint or recolour the vachetta Leather... Or if they think for example a hot pink customisation of the Leather on a LV speedy 25 is a great way to restore an old bag and save her from been possible landfill...

Hello! Not necessarily, but I condition before and after cleaning to try and prevent drying out and cracking of the leather, especially because my bags are already vintage and the leather is already dry
I did all steps on my Speedy bag and noticed that, regarding pre-conditioning and after-clean-conditioning, the Vachetta parts of the bag became more dry and less shiny than before cleaning. What can I do to make them more soft and flexible?
Hello, depending on your climate it can take between hours to days to even up to a week for the conditioner to fully absorb into the vachetta. Once you start using it again and the vachetta is exposed to sunlight again it will start reverting to the more flexible skin like softness and the lustre of the patina will start returning. Cleaning and conditioning vachetta has always been a daunting and anxiety inducing task for me to perform because i usually get panicked if things change on the vachetta but ive found over time that i just didnt get the vachetta enough time to do its thing. But it also depends on some other factors aswell such as: 1. How long did you wait between pre-conditioning then cleaning and after conditioning? 2. Which product did you end up using for the cleaning? Was it the water wipes? 3. How much cleaning did you perform? The more cleaning the drier the vachetta will be 4. How long has it been since you've now cleaned and conditioned the bag?
@@LadyVintageBags thank you for replying I live in NYC, So it is not hot and dry here. I used only products listed in your video. 1) I waited 2 hours between pre-conditioning and cleaning. And a night after final conditioning. 2) I cleaned the bag with baby wipes, alcohol-free and with no scent. 3) I didn't clean much because it was my bag that I rarely used and I purchased it new. I used 5 wipes for the whole bag. 4. It has been a night since I conditioned the bag. It is not a big deal and the bag indeed looked cleaner than before, but the vachetta is noticeably drier than before cleaning, also the handles looked dryer than before the cleaning. I was hoping maybe there is another product you recommend to condition the vachetta and handles, which will give them a little shine.
@@svitlana1500 hello! Other than leather conditioners Ive never used a product on vachetta to give it shine before. Usually with use and the oils on my hands touching the bag and the exposure to sunshine the lustre from the patina starts to show through again.
@@LadyVintageBags overall, I am very happy with your method. My bag looks cleaner, and the blue magic cream is a real magic - the LV locker and keys became so shiny as if I just bought them. So thank you for the vi deo.
Hello, the polish is abrasive so i use it on hardware that is very tarnished and that can handle it like vintage LV hardware. For example if its for vintage chanel i would only use a minimal amount because the abrasive nature of the polish creates microscratches which is how it works to remove the tarnish.

So thank you for the vi
deo.
What conditioner is that? Hair conditioner?
Hello, its leather condition. Link is in the description box
Does metal polish damage the hardware?
Hello, the polish is abrasive so i use it on hardware that is very tarnished and that can handle it like vintage LV hardware. For example if its for vintage chanel i would only use a minimal amount because the abrasive nature of the polish creates microscratches which is how it works to remove the tarnish.
What model is that bag.thanks.
It's the vintage LV Saint Cloud PM in monogram =) I have the unboxing video here th-cam.com/video/9icgRoJxQJk/w-d-xo.html and comparison between the PM and GM size here th-cam.com/video/riKH63w93Tg/w-d-xo.html
This style of LV was my first forty years ago😂😂😂
Hello! Oh do you still have yours?? Which size do you/did you have?
@@LadyVintageBags someone gave me the small one but last time there was no place to do restoration, so it became really old and have to dispose it. Actually it’s the right size. The shape n size is right.

The hardware on LV bags TARNISH and turn silver. You cannot get it back to that gold color. I will not purchase an LV again.
Hi
I realized that the metal on the older bags is brass. Some of the newer bags have gold color over a silver colored metal. So you are right, when the gold fades a silver colored metal shows through. On all of my older pieces, polishing the brass reveals a lovely gold color.
Thats what I love about my vintage pieces!
Cant stand the v Shred commercial
Omg we r not that dumb pls get to the point
