    This HIDUPZ tote is beautifully colored, very sturdy and the perfect size. Not too small, not too big.

    We have similar thoughts and cleaning methods. Vinegar is a good idea, i never considered using it, i would not figure it would be harsh enough to work! I use brasso or liquid bar keepers friend for the brass, both work great! I use a light soapy dawn/water to clean off canvas too, or alcohol free baby wipes. I have had very good success with using apple care brand cleaner and conditioner for canvas and leather. I always condition the entire piece first. Then go in with cleaner, not spot cleaning but over entire leather portion, as i find spot cleaning often damages the item. I then go back over with more conditioner. Then let dry for 12-24hr before repeating as necessary. This is my tried and true method. I use cotton tees, too. The only time I have damaged something with this method is when i used a microfiber towel and rubbed really hard on one of the handle chaps in an effort to spot clean. I have a couple speedies I cleaned this way and a Trotteur and they look way better. Enjoyed this video!

      Thank you for sharing your own methods! Vinegar can be harsh is true, but as long as it's diluted, I've found it works very well. It also helps disinfect and deodorize, which I like.

    I always find these videos so relaxing. I'm curious, do you ever consider asking LV about changing out leather? Is that something you would only consider if the handles cracked or something extreme?

    • @classicswithaquirk
      @classicswithaquirk  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I have, but it's a pretty expensive process, often more than I've bought my bag for. If the leather was severely damaged I might (usually that means buying a "junk" bag for VERY inexpensive, to offset the fact that LV would charge like $600 to fix it up).

    Sorry to comment on an old video, but I wanted to say thanks. I just purchased a vintage coated canvas Longchamp bag with leather trim on Mercari. It looks so much spiffier after I used your method. It's funny how a little attention goes a long way in making something look valued/valuable. I got it super cheap, but it sure looks good now!
    Before I found your video, I watched a ton of canvas cleaning videos that recommend using an oil-based sealant on the canvas and/or cleaning the canvas before conditioning the leather. I'm sure a sealant can give nice results a few times, but PVC is oil based as well, so I'd think over time there could be degradation, since oil reacts to oil ... not to mention that you're usually just sealing in dirt with those kinds of products anyway. And don't get me started on bringing any kind of liquid near vachetta when it's very thirsty!
    So, again, thanks for bringing some common sense!

      Thank you! For smells I do have a (very very old 😅) video on what might help, but if the smell is quite strong and nothing else has worked, the best thing for it would be letting it "air out" in a cold place (like a garage in the winter). It could take up to a month or so for this to dissipate the smell, but it hasn't failed me yet!

    Hello, How do you know there is no silicon in this product? They have not advertised the ingredients. I called them and the lady said that she's not allowed to disclose the ingredients, said the formula is a trade secret. Also she said that most of the other products are water based but CPR is not.
