Mad respect for Kaylee's dad!!!! My dad went door to door with a.38 looking for the answers when my brother was beat almost to death and left out in the country in the snow. He solved the crime in mere minutes
Respect for your Dad. That's fire 🔥
nice
He’s processing his emotions by doing something to fight the hopelessness. Being a dad. Normal I believe.
That's what it takes, Frontier Justice 👍
OMG I love that. Did your dad take action as police were contacted or immediately, before the police' arrival.?
I agree with some who are saying they’re not giving the local police and FBI enough credit. The local police dept is a small department as well. Crime scene processing and evidence processing takes time. Sometimes, it takes a lot of time, especially when there was so much biological evidence everywhere (not to mention that it was a party house, so they’ll likely find a ton of prints, that they have to sort through as well). People want to think it’s super easy to solve crimes because they’ve watched some CSI tv show and some documentaries but the truth of the matter is that with that much blood, and that many victims, just simply processing *those* parts of the scene for evidence is tedious and incredibly time consuming. Let alone, the rest of the house, surrounding areas, verifying alibis, contacting witnesses and following leads, etc etc etc. It’s a lot. Way more than most people can even imagine, and especially if they have the “standards” of TV crime dramas and forensic processing times, in their mind. Anyway, I do hope that they find the person(s) responsible and are able to give these families (and the community) closure. That’d be a very tough scene to process. We have to be patient. If they didn’t take their time, then THAT would be problematic.
This comment! I’m tempted to like and share this to all the video comment sections bc you’re 100% right! This was a horrible monstrous vicious crime! It’s so sad, and I’d imagine the scene was a mess! They have a lot of work to do!! I pray they find this beast asap!
Give the FBI credit for what? Framing people with fake evidence?
If Law&Order can do it in 60 minutes then I dont see why it has taken them weeks to figure all this out. It almost seems like the police are covering for the killer, maybe helping him out and giving him new victims. Maybe the FBI or even the CIA is behind it. To divert attention from China and the JFK assassination.
@@madelineanabella6400 yup
I agree with almost everything you said, the only thing I don't understand is why does digital processing have anything to do with this? (Besides the food truck video.)
As a true crime watcher/reader for over 20 years. "The Gainesville Ripper" and obviously Bundy, came to mind when I heard about this case. I have a 23-year-old daughter and I have thought her everything I can provide from my knowledge of being a true crime "fan". It's tragic that one of many rules/tips I've planted in her head - "going out to a bar/club together, going home together." didn't do any good here. Take care, and thoughts to everyone involved. Take care. 💕 from Norway.
I agree 100% on comparing it to Bundy! Nobody ever suspected his “profile” until there was witnesses. He stalked the college campus! He murdered how many people before there was even any witnesses???? And none of the murders was even “connected” until there was finally witnesses as well. People need to step back for a moment and look with fresh eyes
Danny Rolling
@@mikeodonnell6799 yeah
And lock all door. Bundy got in a side door to a sorority and went in the 2 bedrooms where the doors were unlocked. One serial killer said he never entered a locked door. In him crazy mind, he thought if people left their doors open, it gave him permission to come in and do what he wanted.
Being a concealed carry can help
I cannot stop thinking about this murder. The brutality is shocking.

Same
Same here. I google everyday on this. I Google mapped and walked the area . The apt. house is blurred out on ground level. Had to be someone that was familiar with where they were going. I would think there is a handful of suspects by now. The forensic evidence just has to have a match with a suspect. Time will tell.
People really need to put proper locks on the home. The home owner is very laxed and why are there no cameras on the home. The outside of the home doesn't give a inviting feeling. The homeowner gives me the impression of not caring. In this day and age I am shocked why there are no cameras on the entire perimeter of the home. The way it is built it gives a strange feeling.
@@runningwater7873 you are so right! the house definitely gives me a horror movie vibe....
Peter Massey is the first person who has mentioned the necessity of a family / victim advocate. Absolutely Sir. Had there been one or more individuals assigned to the families alot of this mis communique and raw emotions could have been avoided
The families probably need lawyers at this point. They need representation.

Most of us parents worry about car wrecks taking our children away but then stuff like this happens. I truly pray that they catch the evil person or people who are responsible for these ungodly acts. Have cops secured a warrant to search Showalter's apartment, car, parent's home, etc for DNA and other evidence. Showalter was likely the last person to see the girls alive, and then promptly left the country. Can't imagine a judge denying that warrant.
Seems like a catch
Exactly what I have been saying. Also is hoodie guy confirmed as JS, the guy who-
1. Lived next door to the girls
2. Who left the country
3.was cleared by police, therefore couldnt have been terribly injured from the murders, and anyway probably healed by now

A search warrant can still determine his DNA and the fbi are experienced enough to do worldwide investigations. This case can't go cold, but it is beginning to take twists and turns and getting "political" due to Steve (Kaylees dad) being vocal in the manner he has, saying parents aren't getting on, there is a conspiracy, people aren't coming to town, and a witch hunt on hoodie guy -which can be seen on youtube)

Why can’t they bring anyone suspects in for questioning even? People confess all the time when legally pressed. I don’t get it. There’s obvious people that should be questioned.

FYI from someone that lived in Moscow I never locked my house, cars. Left car keys and wallet under my seat. I moved from Cali to Moscow and even though it was a college town this kinda stuff didn't happen there everyone would wave when you drive by not knowing you. Very friendly town. I absolutely loved Moscow I never felt fearful living there always safe. It's very sad this in my opinion has tainted poor Moscow. RIp 4 young lives lost and prayers to family and friends my 💔for you all
Not locking doors etc..is just wreckless..
The city of 30,000 people I grew up in was safe, we never felt the need to lock doors, But that was 50 years ago. Now I live in a rural township that is mostly farm land and housing developments. We never had a murder where I live, even today. However there is a College close by and there are people there from all over the world, so I lock my doors. Most of us here are very well armed and many of my neighbors are hunters, outdoor people and a number of us have prior military service. I'm not concerned, but I don't trust anyone I don't know.
That’s how it is in Canada, well from footage I watched a few years ago. The ppl in Canada just never locked their doors and I guess they are armed with more firearms than Americans but they have less crime, they think it’s because of the media. They don’t report as much negativity on the news as the US but the video games are really violent tho, still less shooting crimes. Anyways I just remembered them not locking the their doors and I thought that was risky but for a long time that’s how it just was. I wonder if it’s still the same now
When my daughter was in university a year ago , I used to tell her daily to keep the doors locked, because once a person gain access to your room with bad intentions, you're in trouble. She used to tell me the students are not like that, and I would tell her you never know.
I can’t fathom a stranger would decide to stab four people. It’s too risky. This was personal!
Could possibly be a serial killer tho. A serial killer wouldnt be phased in killing 4 people with a knife but then abit random to just turn up in, Moscow, Idaho.
Can’t even really see sumone who was aggravated by the 4 or 1 of the 4 to just randomly go and stab the 4 students.
This is why everyone is so intrigued. Who the fuck was it!!
So you never heard of Isreal Keys..
@@trevorohare2735Israel Keyes only has 3 confirmed victims. Of those 3, 2 were a couple that he killed at the same time, the other victim was kidnapped and killed at a different location and time. He never killed 4 at once. However, Richard Speck did kill 8 nurses in the same house, same night by strangling and stabbing, so it does happen unfortunately.
@@racheltaylor3109 Only 3 confirmed but they know he is guilty of many more.. That is why the FBI classified him as the most intelligent and terrifying serial killer ever documented.. Because he was really good at it...

I find it hard to believe that someone can enter a house with atleast 6 people inside. Brutally murder 4 of them and leave without a trace. No one heard or saw anything and no DNA left behind.
My thoughts exactly.
The roommates had to have been part of it not physically but they set up Kaylee I think she was target and Ethan n Xana woke up so they had to go but whoever did this was in coohots w the roommates that’s how they knew exactly when to come in someone cleaned up !!! They HAD TO HAVE HELP FROM THE ROOMMATES the thing is they weren’t suppose to kill all 4 like I said before Kaylee and prob Maddie were the targets there’s no way anyone would risk entering a house w 6 people 6 phones!!! 6 chances of 911 getting called a million cars outside and a dog!!!!! Think about it people!!!! They had to have been orchestrated by the roommates!!
Exactly its all bullshit and they expect everyone to believe and even tell everyone dont worry the public isn't in danger... even though we have no idea who the quadruple murder suspect is...

GREAT VIDEO!!
I've watched a bunch of youtube videos on the Idaho Murders since I found out about them about a week ago (I don't watch msm nor listen to much radio anymore); but since I learned of it I've been down the rabbit hole...
And this gentleman's (Thomas') explanation of why it takes so long to chase down digital information is BY FAR the best I've heard and makes complete sense. Thank You.
Both of these guys, Thomas and Peter, are top-rate and clearly great professionals who understand what the Moscow PD/Investigators/SP/FBI are faced with here. Great insights and, in some cases, much needed reiterating common sense that too few folks have anymore.
NOT! Big fat waste of time repeating the fact that forensics take time. Not ONE crime scene reconstructed as the title implies
I watched the Netflix doc on the Texas Field Murders in Texas. It's been decades and some of those cases (35 abducted and murdered girls from the 70s thru the 90's!! ) are unsolved. One dad is now 75 and he is still searching for answers. Many of the parents of those girls went to their graves never getting justice. Its so sad! A few cases were solved but only because one victim got away and was able to identify one man, and another man was caught via ancestral DNA. It's nuts how clustered the Texas murders were. It was like a community full of men murdering women. The police were passive in the 80s and early 90's. It's maddening how passive some police departments are on these cases and how they botch up evidence, or it simply just goes missing. 🤷♀️ So many men get away, literally, with murder.
Also, just curious, have they looked to see if any Idaho criminals were recently released in Moscow, or even sex offenders that live in that area? Not all sex crimes involve Rape. In the Texas cases they found 2,100!! You'd be surprised how many people like that live in small quiet towns.

My biggest point to make here is that the killer left his DNA ( probably blood / hair ) in the house. The killer seems to have knowledge of the house & people in it. Wouldn't expect the killer to be a random passerby considering the weapon used is up close & personal. This was a Brutal slaughter for someone with a grudge against either one or all these people. The killer was also clever enough to not leave an obvious clue behind or else they would already be behind bars. So pre planned to a certain extent is part of my guess.
I am so happy Ur onto it now. 🙂
This case is sickening to the core. Just horrific . The killer MUST be caught. He's dangerous and may do it again.
may? They will for sure do it again and if caught probably wont be linked to these murders, these 4 will never get justice, the police fucked up the crime scene
Four murders, not one . The killer had 9 hours to make his getaway in the dead of night. LE have a MAMMOTH task to solve this, if they can at all. JB did a great job interviewing these two top experts. How did he walk away unnoticed when he was covered with blood?
He approached the rear of the house through the wooded area and left the same way.
It was Dark outside.
Most people are in bed at 3 to 4 in the morning.
Blood isn't obvious on black clothing, and what everyone else said
They could have left their phone at home, come in the unlocked back door, did their messy work, rumage thru their clothes and shoes (heard bellow), changed and put their messy stuff in walmart bag with them down stairs and out front door and rode off on a bike.
Thank you Mr. Massey, for speaking in support of law-enforcement. We should know that they feel as horrible about this situation as the rest of us, but their responsibility right now is so huge, and important. Authorities probably have the suspect(s) already. Not arresting them right now and instead keeping an eye on them. Waiting for the perfect time with as much evidence as possible before making an arrest. Prayers to the family. Be patient. Karma will be served.
I have to disagree something just tells me that they wouldn’t be sitting back while a quadruple murder just goes about his business whether they thought he was involved or not he would be in bars right now even if they had an inkling of an idea he would be behind bars while they investigate further not the other way around that doesn’t make any sense to investigate and let the suppose suspect roam free even if they had him under 24 hour surveillance it’s still too risky considering what he did…. this is one of those cases where they would 100% have the suspect in custody. I know you can’t just hold people just a hold them but even if they had a fraction of a reasonable doubt.
Oh yeah that’s great just leave the person out here so they could possibly hurt/kill more ppl yeah that is a great strategy haha

This news source has been one of the most well thought out, well questioned of all the top label news channels to date . This narrator asks questions to qualified guests that are within the parameter of what is being provided to the public . Law officials obviously want to solve this horrific slaughter but so many networks have guests where the banter is all about the “what if “ scenario…. They project imaginary situations that could have happened which is not helpful for the public . Let’s leave law enforcement to do their job !
I’m shocked that they haven’t even released the 911 call.
Glad they haven't.

The community wants answers too along with the family because we want to feel safe and currently we don’t being tight lipped misspeaking and constant backtracking is doing nothing to help assure the community we aren’t in danger of someone can do something this horrific they are capable of anything and clearly willing to
Whatever happened to "geolocation"? Why can't they establish who was in the house at the estimated time of the crimes?
I'm learning more from the comment section then I am from the actual video playing 😒
Me too!!
I want the investigators to do reenactment of the crime scene to see if it’s true that the persons living on the ground floor won’t hear anything.
They could have heard ruckus and passed it off as drunk people going on about
Agree! Girls do a lot of screaming, like when at college football games and of course when they are being attacked. I find it hard to believe that neither of the surviving couple heard any screams.

So we should just be patient, and hope that the killer doesn't strike again, in days.

Yes. That's life. Wtf you want them to do? Make a false arrest? Or screw up and the guy goes free? I doubt it's a serial killer anyway
@@el34glo59 yes! No actually I was hoping they'd catch the person before they did it again. But your idea sounds good, too. False arrest.
THANK YOU! This is real life, NOT a T. V. show! The public is so starved for something new, calm the F down & let law enforcement do their job!
Keep the pressure on them. Justice deserves to be swift and accurate.
We don't owe it to them to calm the F down when they've been as incompetent as they have. We've been really patient for 3 weeks plus. And they've just asked for local surveillance from people. Are you young enough to know that's stupid? So we fully support them, we have fully supported them. With tried to stay in our lane. We've asked questions. But if you think asking questions means we need to calm the F down, then you don't live in the same country I do. I'm going to ask questions. Especially when it's a mass murder, and corruption has happened before in situations like this. This is a college town. A lot of money is on the line if this town becomes a ghost town. These cops aren't acting like normal cups in normal murders that we've watched so why? Is it because somebody told them to make this case die? It's a valid question because the dad was going to put up wanted posters to get the public to call in with any information they might have or surveillance last week. He was told no don't do that. They don't want wanted posters around town. Doesn't seem a bit odd to you that it's more important to them to maybe be trying to get this to go into a cold case where people forget about it then solve it? I'm not saying that's what they're doing, but it's happened and there's signs of it happening. So if they're not doing that then they won't mind the families asking for help from the community.
I assume you don't live in that town. Otherwise I can't imagine how you can calm the F down.
Is it possible the killer was already hiding inside the house when the students got home?
Anything is possible
That's an interesting thought.
That’s what I’ve been telling people since the beginning. Maybe he was stalking them to track and learn their movements, when they left he entered the house through the sliding glass door, they were gone for hours which gave him time to learn the houses interior. He then located a safe place to hide before they got home and waited for them to go to sleep. At around 3 to 4am he killed the first two on the top floor then worked his way down to the second floor killed the next two and left the way he came in. That’s why he never went to the first floor where the two survivors were sleeping, he didn’t haft to cause his exit was on the second floor.
No I heard that six people went into the house neighbors have cameras six people can be seen walking into the house that was not information from the police however it was from some of the students and neighbors that said they actually did investigating their selves because the police are worthless. So if that’s true maybe the police know about it and just haven’t release that information but it was released by the public six people went into the house
@@nipnip2551 ¿ Stalking them?? These are two different crime scenes inside one house. Two different pairs with two different evening plans. Makes no sense this theory
Sad thing is, people really do get away with murder. I pray that's not true in this case.

I completely agree with you! He cant be trusted with any info bc he would run to the media and tell everything! Ppl like his is exactly why they don’t release some details. He needs to talk to a therapist, not the media. He could’ve potentially helped the suspect get away if he wasnt caught.

So how can 4 people be stabbed to death in the same house?? The first assault should have alerted the remaining 5. How could it be one assailant?
I wonder if they did actually suspect JS early on but couldn’t say anything, merely because they told the community “we don’t have a suspect” (because they don’t want to show their hand), but they also said “we don’t believe the community is in danger” because they knew he was already in South Africa, so he wouldn’t be an imminent threat.
Bingo!!!! I said this same thing. Early on LE was asked if there was an imminent threat to the community and LE said NO. MY Thoughts is le already have a pretty good idea who it is
They did initially say there wasn’t a threat to the community but then a couple days later they backtracked on that and said they cannot say there is no threat to the community they have misspoke and backtracked on a lot of things and have fumbled this from the beginning I have zero faith in MPD and LCSO they are lazy corrupt and completely incompetent

Maybe wore plastic bags around shoes.
I can't believe 2 girls sleeping the same bead, and none of them woke up while the murderer was performing this horrible act to one of them.💥
Nobody said they didn't wake up. Kinda hard to scream tho with a hole in your throat possibly
The cars should've been removed within 24 hours to a secure warehouse. By waiting 3 weeks they've been touched by dozens of people, leaving more prints to process.
It is 100% hoodie guy. The same guy that lives in the house right behind the girls, the same guy that was kicked out of the fraternity for being a creep, the same guy that was kicked out of the bar earlier that night for harassing girls, the same guy that has a multiple personality disorder when drunk, the same guy that hunts using a large knife as seen in his online posts of the kills, the same guy that drove 5 hours to go to his parent's hunting cabin right after the murders, the same guy that looked offended on the food truck video after the girls ditched him, the same guy that never ordered food at the food truck. but ran off after he was ditched by the girls, the same guy who has now fled to Africa without even completing his classes for the semester, etc., etc.
It’s also extremely sus that he told the guy he was talking to by the food truck that he was there to make sure the girls got home safely, when the girls obviously wanted nothing to do with him. He just stood there in the back, watching, never ordered food, and left right after the girls left. Why would he feel any responsibility for making sure they got home safely if they didn’t even want to be around him? This guy should still be well on the radar for LE.

Is it that hard for these professionals to turn their phones off
So as a landlord renting to college kids I am surprised there wasn't some outdoor security cameras on that house. I cant even pretend to know fully what these families are going through , but any of us that have a heart are hurt deeply when anyone is murdered , but especially kids. I think this is going to be a forensics case 100 % , those 4 people were brutally stabbed , and what happens when a killer uses a knife ? They cut themselves. I guarantee they are going to find some unknown blood , some unknown prints , this case will be solved. As far as the door being unlocked , I agree that they probably did not lock the doors . The last murder there was 2015. I don't think for a minute they even worried about locking doors. I feel like the investigators are getting a bad rap , there is so much to these investigations , the average person has no clue what all goes into this . Remember the Delphi murders was just solved , after 3 years , so have more faith .
I couldn’t imagine, my kid was shot few years ago and they found the persons within 12 hours

@@zariballard They weren't out for a Sunday bike ride. They went out late at night on bikes pulling a small trailer to scavenge & steal scrap metal & auto parts of the cars at the local salvage yard. The owner of that salvage yard, who had previously been convicted of a heinous & violent crime, murdered then dismembered them on his scrap yard before dumping them & their bikes in the river.
Prematurely releasing the crime scene is less about having to write another search warrant & more about breaking the chain of custody for any subsequent evidence collected afterward which may become contaminated or altered in some way.
My heart goes out to the victims and families 🥲❤❤❤❤
The person who did this crossed over the University golf course, crossed 1 field and hopped an early morning gas train in the train yard less than 1.5 miles away to the west. The home is one of the few homes in all of Moscow that would be easy to do that, it's as close to the train yard as you can get.
