For a small community that admits they don’t see crimes of this magnitude they’ve had this case air tight from the beginning!! I applaud the efforts bringing this to trial to get an unbiased jury 👏🏼

Can someone please explain to me how did they come to suspect him or his family? They mentioned that they looked at his father's trash and then get a hit that the DNA on the sheath is the son of the DNA in the trash. But what made them even suspect this family and look at their trash? Am I missing something? Was it genetic genealogy that led them there or do they mean the father's DNA in the trash is the genetic genealogy? Thanks

    • @LDZeeTV
      @LDZeeTV ปีที่แล้ว +82

@@timoooo7320 yes it was initially genetic genealogy since he wasn’t in the database. they then connected this to the dna in the trash and found a 99.9998% match. many other things also linked the suspect to the crimes, some of which we do know such as the vehicle, phone signal data & witness accounts and much of which we don’t know yet which will most likely come out during trial…

@@timoooo7320 they ran a search on cars in washington and Bryan’s was the only one, and only 10 miles away. on the video, there’s no front plate on the car. it doesn’t look like it’s manufactured onto it, that means that car has to be registered to a state that doesn’t have a front plate law or else they would have pulled them over and have records of a bad registration. believe it or not they make different bumpers for every state depending on if they have the front license plate law. i live in a state with no plate law but my car was manufactured in a state that had them (I wanted a specific color and model), so it has a spot for one. everyone else in my state doesn’t. washington and idaho have them. his car was registered in pennsylvania where there is no front plate law. all of those facts combined led them to dig in his trash.

The amount of selfishness in him is way beyond comprehension as is the arrogance to think that he won't be caught, even valuing that crime over his freedom, to depersonalize others to a maximum extent, to not see his anger for what it really is, blaming his victims for his feelings instead of himself.

I am known to be very good in an emergency, but in these two incidents, the trauma was so great that my brain just shut down and I went to sleep for several hours. It's *possible* she was extremely intoxicated/high when she saw him and unable to properly comprehend what was going on. I find it very believable that someone who was on a lot of mind altering substances would react the way she did and then pass out. If that's the case, she must be suffering from an UNBELIEVABLE amount of survivor guilt, and the authorities might be doing everything they can to protect her fragile mental state by trying to avoid discussion in the media about why she didn't immediately call 911.

I give huge props to the Moscow PD handling this case the way that they have thus far. The fact that they reached out for additional assistance from Idaho State Police and the FBI from day one and kept the information that they knew close to the vest while they gathered the evidence to ensure that this guy was arrested and is ultimately brought to justice is laudable. I am sure that a lot more information will come to light throughout the course of this investigation, but we won’t be privy to that information until this case goes to trial. As a former Marine myself, a USMC knife/sheath is so sacred. It's so hard to imagine that someone like him with his knowledge about criminology would leave such an important large piece of evidence behind right on the bed. He "walked" out of house, so he was not in a rush. I find it so strange that the killer allowed two survivors unscathed. The report says his cellphone signal was picked up 12 times in the area of the crime scene likely because he carefully surveyed the house, which means that he counted the number of people in the home before entering yet he leaves out and doesn't even harm two of the occupants? It makes me wonder if maybe he had an accomplice or maybe he has a relationship with one of the "survivors". If the house is dark, how did she get such a good view of his bushy eyebrows and why would a smart guy like him not wear a hat or something to cover his face? Just seems fishy.

*The order makes sense based on the survivors take*
    1. Maddie was sleeping when she was attacked first.
    2. Kaylee woke up hearing noise then she was attacked. She had defensive wounds so she's clearly awake. In the struggle Kohberger dropped the "sheath" which ended up next to Maddy's body. Kohberger cut himself & a drop of his blood landed on Kaylee's sneaker.
    3. (D.M.) the survivor downstairs heard Xana saying "somebody's here" at the top of the stairs outside her room. Kohberger left Kaylee's room and saw a scared Xana & said "don't worry i'm here to help" then he attacked her. She had defensive wounds too.
    4. Then Kohberger went to Xana's room & attacked Ethan who was sleeping. Then he went downstairs in the dark & didn't notice there was a survivor watching (D.M.) then she closed the door & in a state of shock locked her door & hid eventually falling asleep until later that morning.

Sounds about right, except Xana was in her room with Ethan, but found by the door, so probably had the door open and was lookikng out when he spoke to her, killed her then killed Ethan. I also agree Maddie was first as I think she was the intended victim. I have read that she and Xana worked in a local vegan restaurant, Kohlberg is vegan so maybe had seen her there before, propositioned her and got rejected, so he stalked and killed her. The other were collateral damage and by the time DM saw him he was heading out fast due to all the noise that had been made during the killings and didn't see her.

As a criminologyst myself I find it extremely odd that DM did not attempt to make a single call after spotting a stranger in the house...not to the housemates, not to 911, not to anyone. I would highly question that conduct, something is off, I can't say what as I am not party to the investigation. But my logic tells me if you wake up in the middel off the night, hear whimpering or crying, spot a stranger and lock yourself into a room, you would at least make one or two calls to establish what is going on with your housemates...

It also goes to show more education needs to be had in teaching people to call and reach out even if they aren't sure they saw something or not. Its better to be safe than sorry. I think this scenario could be a good lesson what could have been done to protect themselves better or to know what to do if something was to happen to one of us.
It wasn't a break in my complex had a scheduled entry I forgot about and I thought I'd be in fight mode if someone entered my apartment. Instead I literally asked them what they were doing? They said they were there to inspect my fireplace I wasn't in a place they could enter I told them they weren't that they couldn't come in. They closed the door behind them. So now I'm convinced if someone came in unannounced I'm going to ask them what they are doing or how can I help them. I've been told to laugh but if I'm just waking up I have no idea what's going to happen. That time I had woken from a deep sleep. I often do ask myself what would I do if I came face to face with an intruder. That I don't know, but I tend to be the nosey neighbor and the one that takes note & do my best to report when things are off and out of the ordinary. I haven't always been this way. I just know we must be the police eyes and ears in case crimes are happening and they have no way of knowing unless we speak up and out about what's happening around us.

She can’t be certain of what is actually going on in those moments and she can’t be certain he isn’t coming right back. Everyone is quick to judge and slow to show any kind of compassion. I hope she is able to heal from this. If she fell asleep due to exhaustion/adrenaline overload then waking 8 hrs after about 4 am fits the reg amount of sleep she may get, even more if she was tired and drinking as well the night b4. I think it was the case where it was something she couldnt cope with bc it was way outside her past experience. It may have been a case where she didnt want to know what had possibly happened. As long as she didnt know, she didnt have to deal, she called someone else to help her cope when she woke up bc it was too hard for her to cope w alone. I think people should try to imagine her experience and focus more on the perp than the secondary vics - bc the trauma of this will remain w her and all those who knew them. Because of this, the others have also lost their homes as well as their previous happy-go-lucky lifestyles.

I cannot believe the roommate actually saw the killer who walked towards her as she was in a shocked and frozen state. Then the killer just walks past her and out the sliding glass door. The roommate then locks herself in her bedroom and does nothing? How does she not call the police until noon or 8 hours later? Maybe she could have possibly saved one of her roommate’s life. Wow…. something doesn’t sound right about this witnessing roommate!

I'll be honest my son now 15 in 9th grade, when he was in 7th grade his friend video chatted him before school and stabbed himself. My baby was in such shock he got a shower, got ready for school and went to school. Since then my boy has had mental issues. It was almost a year before we knew what happened. It was when he told a friend he wanted to unalive himself and the police came to the house and we had to take him to be evaluated.
Unfortunately my son is on the autism spectrum,ADHD,mood disorder so we assumed he was just having a break down. So I could only imagine what this young lady is now going thru. My prayers are with all survivors, family and friends.

I went thru something similar in my teenager years. Thought all was well, then didnt go in my 20s. The grief process continues thru adulthood. Im so sorry this happened to you and your son. You cant be healed from this, but talking about it with a 3rd party, not you or his friends, a certified professional will help him.

Him swaying back and forth in the chair while the judge is speaking to him is strange. Him being a criminology major yet leaving the knife sheath, hair, footprints, seeing the woke roommate and letting her live after killing the others, using his personal vehicle and cell phone to stalk and kill the victims is strange. The roommate who heard the victims say someone was inside, heard the victims crying, heard the dog barking over and over ( because its also in the affidavit that neighbors reported the dog barking relentlessly), SAW the killer and stood in shock, went back into her bedroom and locked the door but didn't call 911 until 8 hours later is strange. The whole entire case is STRANGE.
