it isn't dice's fault when ea wants the games fast, cheap and catered to super casuals which are pushing skin sales. there is a reason why a lot of good dice devs left the team and created a new one called embark studios.
I remember when Dice Sweden tried to convince everyone that the reason they no longer support mods and custom maps is because Frostbite is too complicated for the public to use.
@@karambiatos When I discovered Bad Company 2 I was absolutely in love. If DICE knew what was good for them they would avoid making milsims as it's a very niche FPS subgenre that would not produce enough revenue to keep the company afloat or even well known.
@@Dude_bruh I am not sure if this is it or not, but Project Reality mod for BF3 does exist. The UI looked similar to this video when I played, but the servers died out later so I jumped back to Squad.
Yes, this is it. BF3: Reality Mod will be the Project Reality for BF3. It's still in development, the build number 0.3.2. should make this obvious. I think there are a few people working on BF3: RM that worked on PR before.
One thing I noticed immediately was that the textures were updated. The models and meshes in BF3 were always great but the textures were horrible. These upgraded textures really bring the game into the modern age. The game already looks fantastic and looked incredible for the time but the removal of that dumb blue filter and upgraded textures really makes it look like a modern game.
This is awesome. Battlefield 3 was the last multiplayer fps title that I played seriously. After BF3, everything just became a chaotic knifing simulator and the whole point of playing a milsim went out the window. I'd love to see BF3 return to the main stage.
Better that whatever the fuck Squad did to their game with ICO. Went from fun to noodle arm BS simulator. Never have I seen a dev flop so hard. This is breath of fresh air.

@slorgs That reload "bug" that so many games have you always mention is just that you haven't finished that mag you were using. (However I do agree it looks ridiculous)
This could be what I'm looking for! I just got into squad recently and it's ok but I have a few gripes with it. My largest gripe however is the most common, which is player movement. I went into the game expecting some slower movement but it's so slow to a point where it's actually frustrating. Best way I can describe it is that rather than controlling a character directly it feels more like you are giving commands to another player to perform. You want to go left or right there's a delay, you want to aim ok wait a few seconds for the soldier to figure out where his eye is and how to use a scope, you want to lay down or stand up hold on let them finish their snack first because it takes a while. If the game had just a bit more responsiveness and toned down the "everything has weight" approach then the game would feel much more fun and engaging. Could even tie it into the stamina system. lower stamina more weighted effect, higher stamina more responsiveness. Right now just feels like your character is always tired.
This is my problem with every "realistic" shooter. They all have this weird idea that realism=slow and while I've never been in combat I highly doubt I would be slowly doing anything...
They are really making the use of that sky and backdrop looks . for me its still the best i used to play on a 42 inch plasma the backdrop smoke haze and clouds was something else it was easy to forget you needed to capture a flag sometimes while your just checking out the views and angles. And its still got that character that everyone says was blue screen but it was so much more from the organic movements and pastel details in charcter movements and stationary animations and the solid walls and landscapes that also used that pastel layering plus the wall chips and destruction and you also cant forget the sound just awesome with no hud remembering wich squad your on identifying through uniform and language spoken . absolutely solid game fun through and through .
