BOBB is basically old school Ghost Recon. Also BF3 Reality Mod devs have the herculean task of modding an engine that was specifically designed to not be modded.
Kind of old school Ghost recon, but somehow the AI from graw still infects it! In anything that brings flashbacks to dealing with the AI in that game, the friendly AI, might actually need to be burned.. that game could have been so good, if it wasn't for that one thing that it desperately needed in order to be functional... That somehow wasn't a problem in the previous titles sadly for its efforts.. and then also needed to be used that way since you couldn't character swap.. why grin! Why!
It's not your typical cup of tea, but there's this 2d ww2 rts on steam called Firefight. Its dev team is just one guy who's been working on it for 10 years and I genuinely find it extremely fun and wish more people knew about it.

Remember when games were doing cool things like having the reticle be bound to the weapon view model, and allowing like free aim or other cool alternate timeline evolutions of traditional gaming presentation that attempted very simple things in the advancement of immersion and mechanics and.. Now I'm just happy if the guy has some sort of wrist when holding a pistol, and I can just turn The health bars and the hit markers and all the nonsense off.. and I'm never happy These days lol.. How do you go through all the trouble to pick killer stock systems for a handful of specific things that if you just applied the the same philosophy to the other things you would be home free! It's so much better with tactical shooters though, just in general the bar is so much higher.. practically drops off the face of the earth with any other genre of game.
The gameplay itself doesn't look too bad, tbh. The customization looks like it slaps too. The UI and UX on the other hand... Also, feature creep. As a small indie dev team, they should tighten their focus. They have way too many game modes. lol
Great coverage of these! Appreciate you taking the time so i didn't have to ;) Also props for the Looper mention - absolutely one of the best time travel movies ever done imo! I played realitymod for BF2 from 2005-2010. this mod layed ground for countless features in both mainstream and tactical shooters. mobile spawnpoints, bullet drop, blurry view when fired at or being injured, removal of healthbar, ammobar, crosshair, 3rd person view, increase of bullet damage to players, increased aiming difficulty, spawn penalties, nightvision, vehicle crews, asymetrical warfare, position related audiochannels and so much more. that game paid respect to soldiers work, while working fine with few bugs and most of all providing intense gaming experience. it had an incredible community, with devs contributing so much time and effort to make and improve that mod.
please don't be harsh towards pr bf3, devs are doing miracles with this one, they just cannot make full proper experience because of bf3 modding limitation. What they've already done is a true miracles of reverse engineering and struggle against ea shitty modding policy
He is just showing the state of the game. You mention they can’t fix it because of bf3 modding limitations… if you are right that the bugs are due to this then it seems futile to proceed. I hope they can fix the issues but your comment is not promising; just making excuses.

I think BOBB is pretty good. It's probably full of store assets, but it's clear there's a lot of work put into it, and the way you command your squad is great. It's honestly not rocket-science. BOBB has achieved something close to that but thought the AI was awful and significantly worse than what Rainbow Six had almost 2 decades ago.

BF3 Project reality is something I hope becomes a lot bigger, because BF3 is still the alltime best battlefield game (excluding the VENERABLE Bad Company 2). BF3 still has incredible graphics IMO and its a shame that future titles divereged away from that look.
I wouldn't say least popular, it's more that no game has been able to replicate the crushing highs and lows of Tarkov. And Tarkov refuses to deal with it's ridiculous hacking issues, so players are looking for something to scratch that itch, creating a cycle of games with potential that die before they can reach it.
Tarkov most definitely is not the poster boy for tactical shooters arma 3 by itself has sold almost 3x the amount of copies as tarkov. Not even counting the 40 million copies arma 2 sold…
*Contain* - a postapocalyptik landscape, where you fight anomalies, need to find "something" and then extract, while the process of finding something includes interacting with virtual computers using a linux like opearting system? Am I the only one seeing this idea covered by an upcoming game named "beautiful light"? As if it is the same development team, who split up in the past due to some differences, so both decided to develop their on vision of a game with these three properties.

2024.2 usually means it's the second release of 2024
i love your content
This makes me wonder if Contain is in any way related to Beautiful Light
i wish for some Oliver sudden Chris P bacon
