I actually have seen Bandai reusing the design between 2 different kits before: - RX-78-2 GUNDAM GFT GUNPLA FACTORY VER. looks exactly the same as the HG G30th but with less color separation and no accesories. - RX-78-2 Building Experience Version is a really simplified version of the HG Revive. It came with just the rifle and no shield or bazooka. Also, I heard somewhere that the FG RX-78-2 was based on the original PG but I can't confirm because I don't own the PG.
Yeah, the first was all based around the 1:1 Gundam (which in turn was a gigantic RG RX-78), a bit like the F00 products now. Man I like the G30 for that so much... Same design though not quite the oddball 1:1 geometry clone here. And you're totally right about the FG:) it is specifically the PG design back-ported into the 1982 kit format
Honestly the entry grade kits for the RX-78 and the Strike are extremely cool and look amazing. It is strange in this case that the entry grade almost matches the the high grade when the HG and entry grade rx-78s are definitely different 🤔🤔 but thats bandai for you
It's also really mysterious when we only ever see the results of the decisions they make behind closed doors and can only guess why they do the weird things they do Kinda lucky that this time the oddity of it being a clone of the HGCE kit has some practical use but who knows if Bandai ever even considered that when making that decision
My "lower-end benchmark" RX-78 is showing some signs of loose joints even though all it ever does is stand there, so I can imagine how looser it could get. I think the Strike will be about the same, sadly. It's just how it has to be with the minimal and polycap-less design
HGCE Strike Gundam's torso white colour part is very easy to broken. So this EG Strike Gundam could give a chance to replace HGCE Strike Gundam's con....
You know what? since the entry grade treatment is given to main suits with variations, I would say the impulse is a good candidate for the entry grade treatment, and if possible, might get a sword impulse color variation with that. :D Edit: Will you be getting another light package version? one person I know made the light package version of the rx 78 while in the package.
I think any sort of light-weight Gundam like the Impulse or the Exia where they can omit the add-on equipment are good choices. Now that we know it isn't a one-off thing with the RX-78, everyone's really looking forward to their next pick I actually didn't know about that built-in-bag thing until everyone started talking about it here. @@HobbyClubhouse As long as the EG Strike Rouge Full Weapon comes with an Ootori pack they can recycle whatever the hell they want. Seriously, the revive was made to promote the GSD remaster, how could it not include the freaking right sticker pack?!
Thanks for the review. I myself aren’t getting any of the EGs because.... I have enough backlog as it is and don’t see any point on getting them 😅 over the HG versions. They’re good for new people for sure though, although minimal on accessories 🤔
Especially these "light package" variants that strip all the accessories away. I think the draw is mostly from the disproportionate quality you get for the price which is all done with good engineering (I don't think many people are randomly dying to have a naked Strike Gundam) Super weird with this one because it even looks the same as the HGCE Strike... EG strike gundam are good mixing with HG version. Put EG head ti HG body, it will look perfect for HG Also i think EG perfect for beginners want custom paint their gunpla, it's cheap and reason able for not buy hole 1 pack box
The EG really is super good for learning to paint because you don't need to mask anything and can spray the colors you want directly Hm, that head swap is a pretty good idea actually
It holds the sword much better - though the original kit was utterly terrible at holding anything. There's still some wiggle room and the sword does rattle around but it won't roll in the hand

I'm very worried that this is gonna be lose after a few months since most of my 30 minutes mission kit and the Entry grade RX-78-2 went lose after a few months
I suspect it'll be mostly similar because they didn't change much in the joints' design. It's still polystyrene, so you'll have to thicken them with some superglue before long
@@HobbyClubhouse yeah, exactly that, I've read about how that has made that peg easer to brake (as i said it even happen to a friend of mine) I wanted to know if Bandai tackled that in this new EG
Yeah, I thought about that later too while I was playing around with this EG kit. It's like if you buy another kit for any Striker Pack, then you get another Strike Gundam... Maybe you can modernize the old kits by replacing the old Strike kits... (still super wasteful though)
@@HobbyClubhouse u know this entry grade has only the head going for it cuz the head doesn't use stickers and i notice these entry grade eyes are very noticeable and very ez to paint other than that i think people should go for the hg revive unless they start selling entry grade striker packs we really need them for this
It might take some time to be sure, but I think it might have that same problem because the joints are all polystyrene (the regular plastic) this time as well
There might not be a very easy way because it has a single 3mm hole on the back but the Freedom backpack needs two holes. You get backpack adaptors sometimes with the add-on Build Fighter kits like the Build Booster, but I think it'll be really unstable on the Strike with all that weight
As good as the kit is, i'm bit disappointed that Bandai decides to skip to Strike for their 2nd EG launch, i guess they know that it will sell. I do hope for the next one we'll get something like Exia or V or F91 or Mk.II get the EG treatment. Or dare i dream an EG GM..

Yeah, I'm gonna hold out until the full weapon version is announced.
Don't look at me like that, you know they'll do it!
Don't give them ideas, they'll just recycle the HGCE Aile Striker and call it full weapons
@@HobbyClubhouse As long as the EG Strike Rouge Full Weapon comes with an Ootori pack they can recycle whatever the hell they want.
Seriously, the revive was made to promote the GSD remaster, how could it not include the freaking right sticker pack?!
@@HobbyClubhouse no we need a new mold for Aile striker pack
@@hasefharris357 Why?
What's wrong with the one we have?
@@MasterSwo I hate the sticker on the upper wing, they can easily made that a part
I think the draw is mostly from the disproportionate quality you get for the price which is all done with good engineering (I don't think many people are randomly dying to have a naked Strike Gundam)
Super weird with this one because it even looks the same as the HGCE Strike...
Thank you for checking out the review :)
The saddest part is that even with the full release eg you still don't have the right adapter for the shield. Idk what bandai was thinking
Why don’t you use eye stickers? I feel like them and the camera stickers aren’t color correcting stickers. Why wouldn’t you use it for the high grade
EG strike gundam are good mixing with HG version.
Put EG head ti HG body, it will look perfect for HG
Also i think EG perfect for beginners want custom paint their gunpla, it's cheap and reason able for not buy hole 1 pack box
The EG really is super good for learning to paint because you don't need to mask anything and can spray the colors you want directly
Hm, that head swap is a pretty good idea actually
How annoying, the EG head's socket is JUST a little bigger so it's quite loose. Would need some glue to thicken it
@@HobbyClubhouse yup head swab are good idea, it's easy to fix if kinda too lose with cement or glue
does EG Strike can hold Perfect Strike's Sword better than Perfect Strike itself? I don't have HGCE Strike, so I kinda wonder about the holding hand
It holds the sword much better - though the original kit was utterly terrible at holding anything. There's still some wiggle room and the sword does rattle around but it won't roll in the hand
I feel lucky not breaking the ball joint in the leg of my entry grade rx 78 2...
Atleast yet still not sure lol
My heart sank when mine snapped even though I don't move it that often :')
when i 1st had it i got a bit scared since the leg is hella tight so i didn't think twice and loosen it up with oil
Been waiting for this 😎
Hope it was worth the wait:)
@@HobbyClubhouse definitely worth it, quality vid as usual 😊 keep up the great work, I think I've already binge watched your entire channel and new vids are always welcome 👍
Oh god..... The ball joint hips....
The sockets don't grip onto them so tightly this time so they probably won't break... Probably.
@@HobbyClubhouse don't do that,don't give me hope
I'm very worried that this is gonna be lose after a few months since most of my 30 minutes mission kit and the Entry grade RX-78-2 went lose after a few months
I suspect it'll be mostly similar because they didn't change much in the joints' design. It's still polystyrene, so you'll have to thicken them with some superglue before long
Does this one age as badly as the EG RX-78?
Got curious does it has the same RX-78 hollow leg peg issue? Apparently that was the cause of many broken leg joints, including my friend's kit
hm, I haven't heard about that. Is it something like where there are pockets of space in the core of the peg?
@@HobbyClubhouse yeah, exactly that, I've read about how that has made that peg easer to brake (as i said it even happen to a friend of mine) I wanted to know if Bandai tackled that in this new EG
I’m sure the designers took the 3d model of the CE and reconstructed it
I think so too, with their software-based design process now, they can transplant the entire sculpt onto the EG
sadly theyre no seperate striker pack that we can buy saving money. except for the build strike full package booster and the other booster
Yeah, I thought about that later too while I was playing around with this EG kit. It's like if you buy another kit for any Striker Pack, then you get another Strike Gundam... Maybe you can modernize the old kits by replacing the old Strike kits... (still super wasteful though)
@@HobbyClubhouse u know this entry grade has only the head going for it cuz the head doesn't use stickers and i notice these entry grade eyes are very noticeable and very ez to paint other than that i think people should go for the hg revive unless they start selling entry grade striker packs we really need them for this
is eg strike Gundam easy to loose? because eg RX 78 2 is very easy to loose
It might take some time to be sure, but I think it might have that same problem because the joints are all polystyrene (the regular plastic) this time as well
Can the legs be used on the build strike?
The joints are totally different so the EG and HG can't share any parts, but for builders the sizes should work almost perfectly
@@HobbyClubhouse rip
I have a question which part can I use to attach freedom wings to strike ?
There might not be a very easy way because it has a single 3mm hole on the back but the Freedom backpack needs two holes.
You get backpack adaptors sometimes with the add-on Build Fighter kits like the Build Booster, but I think it'll be really unstable on the Strike with all that weight
Gawd, I want that
Bandai can smell blood in the water
Probably
As good as the kit is, i'm bit disappointed that Bandai decides to skip to Strike for their 2nd EG launch, i guess they know that it will sell. I do hope for the next one we'll get something like Exia or V or F91 or Mk.II get the EG treatment.
Or dare i dream an EG GM..
I totally thought they'd do an EG GM, it seems like the perfect choice for some crazy troop building
I get why the Strike is picked since it was their New-Age RX-78 reboot. On the bright side, it also means anything is fair game for their next choice
Now an entry grade exia , age1, x, and shining..
Man, I didn't consider the Shining Gundam, but I'd love that so much in EG form...
Is therefore non clear strike gundam?
Currently there's only this clear one, and the non-clear ones are all coming later
Ah yes irl gundam mobile breaker...
If they made it for any Gundam Breaker game, they can save a bit of work and directly call the HGCE one this kit. Maybe I shouldn't give them ideas...

Yep, this and the upcoming release in December are the "light package" versions that don't have the other weapons and are sold in bags like that

Thank you for a wonderful review, now I'm not gonna get this EG at all whatsoever, and will content with my PG Perfect Strike, lol.
This EG got so much wasted potential.
You're very welcome:)
Oh yeah, I almost forgot myself that the PG Strike got parts for a Perfect Strike. it must be gigantic... I've never actually seen it for real (and it's not that easy to come by these days)
this kit is so good, I can almost force myself to like it. and how can you show this way ahead of everyone, this act of blatant flexing is illegal. and finally, why show that picture of santa buying all those kits ahead of time for christmas giveaway?
Guilty as charged:) Since you mentioned Santa, I wonder if they'll get the retail kit out ahead of Christmas. This would be such a great gift (if it's at retail price and actually in stock...)
@@HobbyClubhouse you can bet, if it's released before christmas, all the *scalpers*... Santas will make sure they are properly distributed at an "affordable" price
I don't mean to be rude ,but you are kinda wrong about the hole on the "78's ass, it was for the the adaptor on the g3 clear color's bazooka storage
Nah man, I have it. It's just the bazooka and there's no clip. I thought that's what it was too at one point. The empty bit is exactly as high-up as the action base hole too:)
